Great site

Love to visit this site  Always enjoy surroundings wouldn't think you we're so near to shopping centre. Nice Beefeater next door and interesting to see training sessions on the water rapids .The only gripe we have is the  showers are a little dated  compared to other club sites and maybe could do with an update But again otherwise a great site

Location spot on!

What a place to stay right next door to the white Water canoe centre. Just to look at it is worth the visit. The Tolpore Pub and restaurant just outside the site gate, the Tees Barrage as an entry gate, superb, the water sports centre an international venue and a great piece of simple but thoughtful engineering, to top it all Seals playing in the river below the barrage. The site is, as always, well run and friendly, a credit to the club. One of the biggest retail parks I have seen just across the way and ASDA next door. All this around but not intruding on the peace of the site. Fabulous views of the Eston & Cleveland Hills (the north of the North Yorkshire Moors). What more could you want?

Peace in the City

We live very local yet this is a site we use regularly, you see it is a haven of peace in the midst of what used to be one of the most polluted areas of Britain. Arriving over the mighty River Tees and past the amazing Whitewater canoe and raft course, the site is hidden behind a bank of bushes and trees. On arrival we are met by great wardens alwayd ready to make your stay a great one. There are many Serviced pitches and a few hardstandings. However there are plenty of grass pitches some of which seem massive. Plenty of trees seperating pitching areas which encourage plenty of birds and wildlife. Our favourite,  a Robin who loves to search around our waste water and gather up crumbs from the window above ! Its a great site with plenty of rural walks and minutes away from a major Retail park in one direction and opposite a huge selection of stores including GO Outdoors. If this is not enough you are very close to Teeside Caravans and Kimberley Caravans. Whats not to like !

This is a lovely site.

This is a lovely site, close to shops, restaurants and the lovely white water sports park. Well run and clean. As this is a all year site it could benefit from more hard standing pitches but otherwise lovely. We have stayed many times over the years but it always pleases, staff are very warm and friendly.mlovely walks and things to do. All in all 10 out of 10.

Brilliant site, Excellent location.

Just returned from a 9 night stay at whitewater. This site, as you would expect,is clean, well run, with friendly obliging wardens & assistants. There are walks down the river to Stockton, and Middlesborough,An outlet shopping centre close by, Two supermarkets within walking distance, and a Beefeater by the entrance, what more do you need? Add to this a lovely seaside town called Redcar, and a good coastline down to Whitby. This is our second year of visiting this site in January, And although the weather is cold, you go prepared, and are rewarded with some beautiful days. Will visit again.---RECOMMENDED!!!!

Worrying trend!

One of our frequently visited sites and is a great, well run site. There is still a lack of investment in more hardstandings which results in grass pitches often closed. In addition there seems to be more long term "workers" vans on site, which are left for days without being occupied and result in site full issues or in one example of 1 van being used by 2 shift workers( 1 on days and 1 on nights! Sadly you can usually spot them by the state of the vans.

Lovely Site and Location

We arrived on Boxing Day morning and found the directions to be excellent and straighforward, despite our concerns about getting mixed up with the shopping centre traffic. We encountered no problems at all and got straight into the site. The Wardens were very helpful and friendly and we were allocated the last available hardstanding pitch. We had a lovely stay, which was originally for 5 nights but whilst there, we extended that to 10 nights as we really enjoyed walking our puppy along by the riverside and around the White Water Canoe Course. For anyone with a dog, the area is ideal as plenty of dog-friendly walks in the area. The facilities on site were always clean and warm - I couldn't comment first-hand on the showers as we always use the one in the caravan. Asda superstore is only a 5 minute walk from the site and bus services are available nearby. Newspapers can be ordered from Reception and, once again, I must say that all the Wardens and their Assistants were always friendly and helpful. We will be back again very soon.
