The Most Powerful Showers This Side Of Watford

To be honest, the showers are the best I've used in our touring history. Plenty of hot water too! This is our 4th trip to Stockton, and again it hasn't let us down. From the aforementioned showers and spotless toilet block, to the huge fully serviced pitch we had, you can't fault this site. Easy access from the A19/A66, even the local roadworks were simple to negotiate, but special thanks goes to the site wardens that called us a couple of days before we were due to arrive to give us the heads-up on them. Now that's good customer service! With plenty of things to do within a stone's throw of the site, White Water Park is a great jumping off point for Hartlepool Maritime Museum, Preston Hall and gardens/Butterfly World and many others attractions, you're spoilt for choice. Please note - at the time of writing Preston Hall isn't open on a Monday, the Tees Transporter Bridge isn't accepting cars due to roadworks in the area. No doubt it won't be long before we pay another visit to the site. Thanks again for another wonderful stay!

Very good / clean site

This site is a great little site to visit , less than 5 minutes off the A19 .Its friendly , clean and very close to shops /bar and restaurants . SPLASH swimming pool within 4 miles , Stockton less than 3 miles , huge retail park within a mile and the tees Barrier white water park within a few 100 meters ,and right on the door step of national cycling route 1 , ideal location , facilities are very clean and constantly looked after , security is not fantastic but hey where is these days ,  If the weather is good then you have loads to do but as we found out there is not a lot apart from shops if it's raining , we have a young daughter and she loved it apart from a little bit board during the bad weather,  But all in all I will be visiting again  9/10 is give it

Most visited site

This is our most visited club site, only 20 minutes from us.  Excellent clean site close to Teesside kids love splash, bowling and Frankie n Benny's.... We have visited the Talpore excellent pub next to site with good menu...Good site for cycling and nice dog walking down near the rapids.  Excellent warden service always happy to help and so clean and tidy.  More than worth the full star status.

Very handy site; Tees Barrage

Great site. Easy access. Just beware of roadworks at the moment (need to go down to Morrisons roundabout and come back up to turn left; no right turn from the south). Lovely, powerful and hot showers, good wifi and TV reception. Next door to Tees Barrage white water kayaking centre, very nice for a stroll. Also next to Portrack Marsh nature reserve, you might be pleasantly surprised at how interesting it is. Asda in walking distance, pub on site (we find it expensive and uninspiring, but it's handy and does have a nice beer garden to sit out in). Short drives to coast, RSPB Saltholme, Teeside Park (if you like shopping) and lots of interesting maritime attractions. Plus big bridges and container ports close by. Small games room and play area. Stay to the right as you come in for the evening sunshine.

surprised

did not know what to expect contradicting reviews from other members but after spending 5 days at this site i had made up my own mind and i thought it was brilliant the site was clean well manicured the wardens were brilliant nothing was too much trouble one minus point which i had to agree with other reviews were that the toilet and shower facilities were a little dated but were spotless the wardens did a real good job i enjoyed the area and places to visit i will most certainly visit again but again top marks to the wardens well done

Pleasant Suprise

Driving towards the site you can clearly see the industrial areas and as this was our first visit we began to think oh dear! but once over the bridge and pulling into the site what a contrast. A very pleasant site with pleasant wardens, we checked in and found our chosen pitch No10 a serviced pitch well worth paying the extra for us, room for car, van and awning. Facilties spotless as usual and well maintained, yes the shower block is a bit dated (the tiles mainly) but if the club refurbs them please keep the power showers. Did not use the play area or recreation room so cannot comment but they seemed popular. Great to watch the Whitewater rafters in action, Pub near entrance pricey but ok if you just can`t be bothered to cook, local Asda easy to walk to. Visited Beamish Museum where club members get 25% discount on entry, Hartlepool Maratime Museum, Durham. If you are taking bikes which we did not but would in future there are some great off road cycle routes especially by the river. Overall a great first stay would visit again.

Very good site - nice area

Just returned from a week here staying on a serviced pitch. It was our first trip to the North East of England. We thought the site was very good. Very pleased with the location - a good point central to Newcastle and North Yorkshire. Pleasantly surprised how nice the surrounding area was. The canoeing was interesting to watch and it was useful having so many shops close to hand, especially Asda which was only a five minute walk. The site was very clean although it did deteriorate at bit when the school holiday started - not the fault of the wardens. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

good site with contrasting wardens

White Water is a site we have visited many times. That in itself says a lot. Most things are excellent. However the children's playground is of a low standard and totally unsuitable for younger children. There is no swing. The playgrounds at other club sites are much better. I had two interactions with the lady wardens. One could not have been more welcoming, obliging, friendly and generally helpful. A real credit to the Club. The other was unhelpful, officious and rudely sarcastic. For no reason or benefit to anyone. When will all wardens realise they are in the hospitality business?
