Great site

Another most enjoyable 5 night stay at this great location. Wardens were very helpful and friendly. Only one slightly negative comment would be that the toilet blocks could do with updating / refurbishment.

What about the RV ?

YES, YES Like Every one who review this site we love it for all, wardens, cleanliness, position, the pub, the shop so much to do, we been here for 3 week and this is not our first time and still find new place to go Train station only 25 minutes walk so lots of place to visit. The down side is we have friends in the RV Owner club who would like to tour and meet us but like to many site pitch are to small and 9 meters is the limit please can the CC upgrade every campsite to accommodate large RV ? And the barrier at this site are to narrow need upgrade too. BUT that is just RV talk perfect site for everyone else.

Always enjoying the site

This is probably the 6th visit since I only live 20 mins away and once again Ive enjoyed it. As well as the excellent facilities, The pub, well placed and out of the way of groups on the town, is always a pleasure with great outlook to the white water events, just a short walk across the nearby A66 to Teeside park, gives 10 pin Bowling, cinemas, Burger King, TGFriday. Other food places also available. Plenty of shopping places and a large Bingo palace. Just next to the white water arena is the Tees Barrage ( you cross this before entry to the site) and a short walk from here I believe you can ride the Teeside river cruise. If you just want to relax then thats ok too. The marshland below the site and pub to the Tees is a great bird sanctuary. Also Portrack lane, 5 mins walk takes you to a large Asda and various other shops (B&Q, The range, Dunelm etc)

very pleasant welcome

Pleasant welcome from very friendly wardens. Nice  large grass pitch in a peaceful and clean spot.  A nice walk along the river into Stockton (about 3 miles there and back). Pleasant dog walks just off site. RSPB saltholme a short drive away for birdwatching. A very enjoyable weekend would certainly recommend.

Friendly and helpful

Our second visit to this site. Very clean and tidy site with equally clean and tidy facilities. The wardens were friendly and helped us out with a couple of problems. Site is within walking distance of a beefeater pub, Asda, white water course, a little further to Stockton town centre. Half an hours drive to the sea and lots of other places to visit in the area. Nice walks for dog owners just off the site.

First outing of 2015

Having purchased a new Bailey we thought that we would use this site as a shake down trip. We were not at all disappointed. The wardens Ray & Fiona were fantastic and so very helpful. (congratulations to the Caravan Club for employing them) The club site is as it says in the book close to Stockton and all the shops, this was a bonus for the petticoat government but not for my credit card :). The only down side was the road noise from the A66 and the railway marshalling yards, which are within walking distance. Overall a lovely site and we will return many times throughout this year.

Good site

Just had a comfortable 3 night stay at white water park for our first outing for 2015. Arrived in the dark and the hard standings had been taken so we were on grass which was very wet, the van tyres pushed well into the grass so we used the mover rather than the car. A well run site with very spacious pitches which seemed in some areas to be double the distance from your neighbour compared to other sites we've been on. Fresh water supply was particularly 'chloriney' more than other cc sites and there's a constant drone of traffic noise from i guess the A19 so it's not by any means a quiet site. Washrooms were cleaned to the usual cc standards and the showers were very powerful but as others have said they are getting past their best so need updating and are desperately in need of some bleach down the waste track which was quite smelly.  There's a beefeater pub just two minutes away, the food isn't cheap but the Hobgoblin beer is nice!. Two out of the four archimedes screws were in action pulling the water up from the Tees river to feed the white water rafting course which is two minutes away and many competitions were on both Saturday and Sunday. 15 mins riverside walk past Durham university and you're in Stockton town centre which has a market and the usual main brand shops plus other smaller independents.  Despite some small issues it's a great base to explore the north east coast and our third and for sure not the last visit.

Great site

Quite on site but road traffic can be heard most of the time. Quite site within an area where ASDA is one way only 5miutes walk, or Teesside Park 5minutes drive the other way. Walks along the river Tees 2minutes walk away. Site is run well but showers do need updating. Always like to stay here.
