Great site

This is a great site, and such a good location, quiet but still so closed to the hustle and bustle. Asda 5min walk away but a 3mile drive. Beefeater next to the entrance, food very good. Lots of walks from the site, down the river or on the marsh. Also a large retail park 2min drive from site. Even when the site was full over the bank holiday weekend all was quiet and clean. National railway museum at Darlington is worth a visit and free. Saltburn beach and park lovely. This is a club site I will use again, as a great site at a great price.

Pleasantly Surprised

What a nice site and such pleasant wardens. I was on a full service pitch as this was all that was available when I booked. The standard pitches are very nice with a very large diverse selection. There are so many things to do around this site, for me it was walking and there are many different walks from this location. However there are local shops in the form of a retail park, as well as a large ASDA less than five minutes walk away. Stockton on Tees offers many pleasant things to do as does Middlesbrough. Watching the canoes fight their way through the barrage and then come back up via the conveyor belt was very interesting. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Please get rid of stones from playpark

A regular for us and one of our favourites. The play park has a ground covering of pea shingle stones. These are always dusty and the children get very dirty from this which is not ideal when we are caravanning. The stones are often thrown onto the slide [yes the children are told not to do this but they are playing!] this creates a noise and therefore has an impact on neighbouring club members who may be trying to relax. I saw one man sweeping the road where his child had dropped large handful of the stones on the road and this again shows that parents are [in the main] very responsible. Who ever had the idea of putting these stones in a play park needs shot. No other club site to my knowledge has this surface in the play park. This needs changing immediately !! Thanks again to the staff for a friendly welcome - please support us in the stones issue.

nice site if you like kids screaming

we have just returned from this site, never before have we seen children allowed to play on bikes on a road through a site and there parents were no were in sight!! big sign up on the toilet door saying no washing down of outfits and we witnessed this happening, also clearly states only one car per pitch and this is also being abused, finally i have to say the wardens are not very pleasant tried several times to make conversation only to just be looked at as if to say dont speak to me!!! also states in the caravan club rules states cars to be parked opposite side to caravan door this is also clearly being abused!!! wardens just dont appear to be intrested!!!  we are a normal couple dont usually have a problem but this site needs looking into

Comment from The Club:

Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Further to your comments the Site Staff got in touch as they wanted to address some of your concerns.

White Water Park Caravan Club Site is an ideal site for families and during the Easter school holidays many families with children were staying on site. The Site Staff take site safety very seriously and will always speak to children on bikes when they are seen to be riding them in a manner that could be dangerous to others on site, or when reported to them by visitors on site, but as rightly pointed out, the first and last responsibility lies with the parents of any children on site.

Club rules do permit the use of dry wash products to clean outfits and the Wardens were aware of at least 4 outfits that were cleaned using these products during the 2 week Easter break and as such it may be this that you saw occurring during your stay.

With regards to pitching, The Club rule states that when you’ve sited your caravan, where possible park your vehicle alongside with the handbrake securely applied. It does not mention that cars are not allowed to be on a pitch on the door side of an outfit. The Club also allows (if there is room) more than one car on a pitch during the day and indeed overnight, as long as the fire break regulations are not compromised and payment for the additional car has been made. At White Water Park the pitches (apart from non-awning) are all large enough to accommodate extra vehicles when required as long as there is a minimum clear space of 3 metres between adjoining outfits in any direction.

As you can see from previous reviews the Wardens at White Water pride themselves on their friendliness and always do their utmost to give members a warm welcome and are available to discuss any concerns on site. As such they are sorry that during your stay what you encountered did not meet your expectations and they would like to assure you that they work hard to be helpful and approachable to all members.

Privacy-Shelter.

We are frequent visitors to this site and we store our caravan there. The wardens are excellent and the area is great as we have dogs. We have just returned from our last visit and are very disappointed at the severity of the hedge cutting. It has taken away the shelter and more so the privacy especially on the serviced areas. It will take an awful long time for these to recover and was not needed simply for maintenance reasons.

EXCELLENT SITE FOR FAMILIES

This was our fourth visit to Whitewater Park.  The site is excellent for families etc. with easy access from motorway network yet tranquil enough for relaxation.  With the Tees Barrage and white water facility just outside the camps its gate there is plenty to see and as the sea side of the barrage is tidal, opportunity to see plenty of wildlife including birds and seals.  A lovely walk along the Tees brings you to Stockton town centre in about 15 minutes ( 1 mile - but at our pace!!).  There is a supermarket within easy walking distance for provisions, and a Bar/restaurant next door.  If that was not enough, there is a shopping mall and cinema complex within a shirt walk, as is the railway station.  Plus easy driving ways to the coast and surrounding countryside.  What more could you want.

nice site for bike riders

nice site but was invaded by kids riding madly round on bikes when there is a sign on the toilet blocks that states no bike riding, but the wardens do not bother about this, especially   when  there is a lot of older campers around this seemed  a little dangerous, when there were plenty cycle routes just outside the campsite itself i my self will not be going there again

keep it a holiday caravan club

A nice site well placed for amenities but yet again more sites being used by workers early mornings banging van doors and returning late evening. Caravan rules are being flouted as we had to wait 20 min to get a pitch at 12,45 although clearly stated on the induction site. This site has the most expensive washing mashine at £4per wash, and £1for 15 min.  The local is cheaper. The wardens do a great job and for ever pleasant on this very busy site
