First time caravanning

This was our first trip out and i was a bit apprehensive but the staff were excellent. They gave me lots of help and tips which all made sense they couldnt do enough .I would definitely stay at this site again.Other campers were also very helpful If all the sites are like this one its going to make caravanning a pleasure.Well done.

Dogs galore

My stay at this lovely site was spoiled by, what appeared constant dog barking. One dog owner with two of them, denied that they barked, when they were actually barking whilst he was taking to me. However I will return to this lovely spot. Perhaps the site staff need to be stricter.

Somewhat unhappy

Our third visit to this site. The site need some attention regarding the Toilet Facilities. Considering the number of pitches there are really not sufficient facilities. I requested a disabled pitch and was given pitch 44. Although near the toilet block there is a post and rail fence which means a long walk from this pitch to the TB for someone who is disabled. It would be simple to provide a path through the middle of the fence for those who are not spry enough to squeeze through it. Also the TB although perfectly clean does need updating as it is somewhat tired. I regret I will not visit this site again. This is the first time I have sent a negative review. Unable to comment on suitability for children as it does not apply.

Enjoyable Stay

On arrival 1 July 6.30pm the man and woman in the reception could not be more helpful. I told them it was the first time I had booked and used the motorhome connecting to a site electricity etc and the only had trail runs at home on electricity and water. The man came out to the pitch with myself and my 11 year boy to link up. The following day changed my gas bottle. Now I feel much more independent and confident enough and the next trip booked south to north of the country. Not really any facilities for children but we had our bikes and cycled into Lowestoft on the Saturday not for the faint hearted. The pub in walking distance we eat both our evening meals there good enough food and people friendly. Lovely spot right by the sea good for walks and we were lucky to get two sunny days.

by the sea

What a find! A lovely peaceful site tucked away off the beach road. We stayed on the main site which was sheltered but very close to the beach and nature reserve. We walked along the beach into Lowestoft one morning. There was a surprising and superb choice of places to eat near the site, including a fantastic 'hot canteen' at the Sailors Home. This is only available on a Tuesday evening and was basically a hot buffet, all you could eat, for £7.95. It was delicious home baked food. Be sure to book if you want to try this!

Near the beach

We were given a sea view pitch but were unable to use an awning or wind break due to it being very windy sometimes. The view was well worth it though. Good bus service into Lowerstoft and free with a bus pass. Africa live just up the road with a pub for family's. There is a Co-op within walking distance for all your needs . And the Fishermans Home pub serving food plus another restaurant next door. Lovely walks along the coast and good for dog walking. Only two showers in the seafront toilet block. Could do with an extra one. Apart fron that and the thunderstorm we had, loved it and will return.

Great location

Having never stayed along this coast before I was really looking to what I had been told was a peaceful area - and so it was. The site is very close to the beach which was totally uncomercialised. Back to good old traditional holidays! My only real criticism were the showers or, more especially, the absence of hooks in the showers. ONly two hooks (in the gents') for clothes and a towel is not on. There wasn't even a seat on which a toel could be placed. Bit of an update needed!

Oh the noise of the music!

The site was kept in excellent condition and the facilities were spotless. Its' position on the coast was superb. The wardens could not have been more helpful but oh dear the noise of the live music from the adjacent pub blaring on the Sunday afternoon when we arrived was far from peaceful but we were assured by the wardens that it would definitely stop at 10pm, which it did. They could not tell us however how many times a week we would be able to "enjoy" it but thankfully for us that was the only occasion. If only the site was situated near Southwold I would have scored it as excellent.

Good site, BUT

A very good site close to the beach, which unfortunately had quite a lot of rubbish at the high tide mark and also abandoned jagged, rusting ironwork sticking up out of the sand. However, we had an enjoyable stay marred by an incident which was potentially very serious as the dog belonging to the next pitch to ours bit my husband as he walked past to the electric hookup point. In spite of wearing jeans, the dogs teeth drew blood and left a distinct pattern on his leg. It was reported to the warden and the owners were asked to leave. It was disappointing that my husband wasn't later asked about the injury by the staff but we thought this could have been Caravan Club policy, i.e. don't get involved.
