Increasingly a mixed bag

I really love the location of this site and with public transport really close and amazing beach walking. It is a great place to come. The number of birds on site is worth a trip alone. There is a children's play area which is well located, which makes me wonder why parents don't make their children play in safe areas, riding over my electric cable is possibly not the best plan. As for the facilities, they contrary to other reports are fine, not plush but fine. The time they are cleaned is frankly bizarre if you want people to leave in time. Further The closure of the second loo block is unforgivable not everyone is able to wait over an hour for the toilet nor do all vans have loos in. Inexcusable really with this years price hikes!

Not the best

This site seems way behind the times  The shower block innadequate and cant believe the other block on site has been permenantly closed and we were told "the club cant afford to run it "  This resulted in a queue for the ones available and considering this was half term week and busy, the wardens still closed the block from 9.45am and were totally inflexible and rushing people who had just got to the front  Found the area desolate and wont go back

Motorhome service point

We had a really lovely weekend but we are amazed that the caravan club  are not providing a good standard for motorhome service facilities, how they are able to get away with Health & Safety Regulations expecting us to lift a steel manhole cover up when the previous motorhome had just driven over it and compressing it down, i'm fit an able but still struggled to lift it up! we are paying a premium price nowadays and think the caravan club should address this problem. also the toilet block was closed for cleaning when we left at 11.00am so we had no washroom facilities available after doing the grey waste and the toilet

Peaceful only the sound of bird song and the wave breaking on the beach. The Site was immaculate and wardens very friendly and helpful. The Sailors Home good food and well worth a visit.

Peace and Cuckoos

We stayed 15 - 17th April then returned and stayed 6 - 8th May. Our April stay was restful, weather not brilliant but we dodged showers and enjoyed a meal in Sailors Home pub next to site where we met other CC members staying on site. Our next stay 6 - 8th May, weather was brilliant, we set up to sound of a Cuckoo and also a Song thrush singing and had a cup of tea and watched a robin feeding his family nearby - Most peaceful. Site was immaculate as usual and wardens cheerful. We had a grass site and all was perfect. Site is looking after nature and helping it thrive which is good as you don't hear many cuckoos on other sites. We will be back in June.

Bank Holiday Family Break

This is the 3rd CC site we've stayed at and all in all was good, however not really geared up for families, owing to facilities and general location. Location is fine for getting around, however not that much on the doorstep e.g. few miles to nearest supermarket. Access to the beach is good and great for people with dogs. As others have stated the site shop is rather limited, so make sure you are well stocked for the first night. We'd definitely recommend trying the restaurant on the corner just outside of the site, fantastic food and service! On the plus side, visually it's a nice site with modern facilities. Good size pitches and well laid out. One final pointer, the signage is rather poor getting to the site. It looks like you've run out of road once you hit the beach, however the road loops round and the site is located on the right hand side after the restaurant on the corner.

Lovely site - no idea what the bad press is about

Just returned from our first stay at this site and cannot understand what the negative comments are about. We were on the beach front with stunning views. The toilet block was warm and spotless. Okay it wasn't brand new this year but there was nothing wrong with it (except one blockage in the gents which the wardens sorted out immediately). The only negative was a yappy dog that the owner didn't care who it annoyed - but that's no reflection on the site at all. Will be visiting again that's for sure

Average caravan club site

Stayed for 2 nights. I would say this is quite an average site compared to other CC sites. The shop was not very well stocked. The ladies toilets were quite smelly and always seemed to be left in not a very clean condition! Maybe people can't flush and clean the loo after they use it!! The park was very basic not really worth being there. An ok site if you use it as a base to visit Southwold or Africa Alive.
