1st time here.

Our first visit and don't think it will be our last. Got a pitch overlooking the beach and sea-what a joy to open the blinds to that view! Yes the toilet block on the beachfront side is in need of some updating, but it was always spotless, and warm too. Went to Sutton Hoo-well worth the visit, what a fascinating place. Also visited the Suffolk Punch heavy horse centre after very kind warden printed off the details for us. Another very interesting place and good for children too. Local chippie serves fresh cooked tasty food. Definitely a site to visit if you have a dog-we don't, but still enjoyed watching other people's dogs racing about on the beach! Oh and don't forget Southwold Pier-what a crazy, eccentric typically British seaside pier! Didn't have time to read all the plaques, but what a lovely way to recall happy times, special events and loved ones.

peacefull gem in suffolk

I have to say I cannot understand some of the negatives I have read regarding this site. We are visiting again this B/H 29/04/16 , and are looking forward to our stay. We have been several times last summer and have always found the site clean well kept and the wardens friendly. As regards the local pub we had a sunday lunch there on one of our stays and could not fault it the choice of meats and veg, and all well cooked.( remember its a seaside local expect a little noise). If you park on the main park you will find it peacefull. This to my wife & I and the dogs is wonderfull ,well done caravan club

our 4 time

we like this site as its great for walking the coast & the dog, good facilities, friendly wardens, it was a shame it was wet as some pitches were closed & the grass areas were very soggy, we felt sorry fot the wardens who were trying to keep the site look nice but some Vanners & Motors homes were cutting the corners & making a mess of the grass, & some did not take any notice of the one way system? but we enjoyed our stay & will be back again, can not comment on children as we went after the schools started back. thanks

Nice and peaceful

Very helpful warden, 2nd time in our motorhome and we had a problem with our electric hook up cable sparking etc, warden came with screwdrivers and changed the plug for us! Nice clean showers and toilets, great for dog walks, would recommend

1st timers

Our first time out in the motorhome. Staff were very helpful from booking in to leaving. The toilet/shower facilities were excellent, always very clean warm and welcoming. We were on the front site 2nd row in and it tended to be a bit noisy with the traffic behind late night early morning other than that a lovely spot.

Our 3rd visit

This is our third visit to WHB. Take care on the last half mile as you need to pay attention. Westerly facing pitches on the main site (28-32) IMO are great. Local dog friendly pub. Turn right at the shingle beach to find the sand. Good walking for dogs. Plus the site had well behaved polite children. We will be back next season

A Real Gem!

Having bought a new motor home we were desperate to try it out and needed it to be local in case of any problems. We had never realised what was on our doorstep - it was a wonderful few days and we even extended our visit as we were having such a lovely time. The dogs were in 7th heaven having the beach so close and being on the front row we loved sitting just enjoying the view listening to the waves. The toilet block was absolutely spotless and the wardens very friendly too. If you want fish and chips they are only a five minute walk away. Having travelled a lot, we have to say, that the sun rise we were privileged to see was spectacular. We will be back without a doubt. Just excellent!

Love love love it !

We have been going to Whitehouse beach for 7 years and we love it.Yes,the toilet block beach side is a little tired but always spotlessly clean. But really  who cares, you are in a caravan in view of the sea what more do you want ..... A real marmite site !!

Basic site, not in a great location

We stayed for 4 nights during the Easter break. The site itself is at the end of a narrow road which is quite tricky to negotiate, all of the grass pitches were ropped off as they were so water logged and then one night after a big down pour a few off the hard standings were also water logged and a few people were having to move pitches as their awnings were sitting in water. The tv had no signal at all even with our booster cable so we were glad of our laptop which had some films on we could watch and we also read a lot. We were on the bigger side of the site there were some pitches on the beach side aswell which were all occupied and there was a small toilet block there aswell. The toilet block was closed for cleaning quite early (9:45am) so we had to be up and organised which didnt go down that well with two teenage girls!  There is alot to do in the area, Southwold is only a short drive and we had a lovely day there, Great Yarmouth also has plenty to do, Africa Alive also made another day out which is a 5 minute drive from the site. Plenty of supermarkets in Lowestoft, we also found a decent chinese takeaway for one evening. The site itself does make a decent base for exploring the area and there is plenty to do.

Well worn site

We stopped on the beach front area of the site and found that the shower/toilet block are in desperate need of some TLC as do the pitches. The site is also far from being peaceful as the road cutting through is very busy and noisy.
