Lovely site but very crowded

Although this is a lovely site in a beautiful area it is extremely busy. Not a site for you if you don't like to be surrounded. We even had to queue to get out some mornings. The pitches are very tight if you have a large caravan. The new gravel is very soft at the moment, not bedded in yet, so our motor mover struggled a bit.

Lazy members

This is one of favourite sites and have missed it being shut for so long. Nice new tiles in toilet block yes very good but re-tarmacing the road Iam not sure it was needed and probably at great expense. The site is great for walkers and familys and some beautiful locations on its door step. My gripe is both with the club and some of its members, during the refurb the club have chopped any screening bushes that existed losing any privacy that there was leading to members crossing over each others pitches to take short cuts to service points and showers. Some of the behavior I witnessed by club members last weekend was just down right inconsiderate and Lazy. The whole situation brought about by lack of screening bushes. Please replace them or put a fence up and return this site to the Jewel of the club again.

First visit

This was our first visit to Wharfedale. It was a last minute booking and we bagged the last available pitch for the New Year period. The pitches were good and level and we had one close to the only facilities block. At the time of our visit there was a problem with the boiler in the shower block so only half of the showers were open for use. The shower block was clean enough but a toilet was broken and pouring water over the floor. There are good walks in the Wharfedale area and Grassington is a lovely little village just a short drive away. Skipton is about a 20 minute drive away and Bolton Abbey can be reached in about 20 minutes too. Our booking information from the Caravan Club clearly stated that the latest departure time was 12.00pm. However, as we were about to cook breakfast there was a knock on the caravan door and the warden said "You do know that departure time is 10 o clock don't you?". We replied that our booking information said 12.00pm but he stomped off saying "It's always 10.00am on the last day". We weren't the only ones taken by surprise either.

Comment from the Club:

Many thanks for leaving a review and we are delighted that you enjoyed your time at Wharfedale Club Site. For future reference, the checkout time is 12 noon and this has always been the case. All site staff are aware of the checkout time and advise members of this on arrival so we are sorry for any confusion.

Fantastic site

An amazing site set in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales near Grassington. Wardens are so welcoming and friendly and organised an amazing New Years Eve party for which they provided entertainment, a lovely buffet and punch for us to drink. A good time was had by all. We all thought it would be such a good idea if there was a games/entertainment room built (during the forthcoming renovations) which in future years they could hold their New Years Eve parties in instead of struggling to put a gazebo up which let the rain in on us! Other sites such as Whitewater Caravan Park already have one of these on site.

Very disappointed!!

Wharfedale has always been our favourite caravan club site but no longer !! It has been completely ruined by chopping down trees and bushes , no thought has given to the wildlife and privacy these gave the site !! It was always a pleasure watching birds and squirrels etc in and out of the bushes , now all you can see is a sea of white caravans , resembling a car park instead of the beautiful rural site it was before . Our trip was also spoilt by a large group( over 12 adults ) partying until after midnight on the 30th December in the awning opposite our pitch , perhaps a walk round by the wardens would stop some members being inconsiderate to others , nobody wants to be a party pooper but moderation is the answer , private sites have rules about groups and no noise after 11pm but our club doesn't which seems wrong .

3 Days hill walking. What a fantastic site. Lovely and clean, and such a beautiful location. Only 5 mins from the foot of the dales. Dog loved the site. Everything you need, nice big pitches. Cannot wait to stay again (Already booked!)

Wharfedale Trees

Love staying at Wharfedale site but I'm afraid, for us, cutting down all the trees was a definate no no and spoils the look of the site. I would love to know the reason for this if Administration would like to comment. (Please don't say health and safety given all the trees at Park Coppice and Kendal sites or are you going to cut them down too?) A real shame for visitors and wildlife alike 😢

Crying shame

Love this site visited many times . However it is a crying shame that the man at the top of the caravan club has decided to cut down most of the trees . Total devastation we used to love watching the birds in the trees next to our pitch and the squirrels running up the trees. The wardens worked their buts off trying to get the site back to an acceptable state after the felling felt sorry for them . Also lost a lot of privacy between pitches now. Totally spoilt site.On a plus side loads of walks from site brilliant location .
