Five nights -over too quickly

Due to not wanting to travel too far I changed my booking to Wharfedale and can honestly say I am glad I did. The site is simple to find and the access road is not a problem it does narrow in some places so just be a little careful. Access into the site is to the left of a larger leisure park and pub which you can use if that's your thing. Check in was easy and friendly we arrived well after the manic must be there for noon crew (who actually turn up at 11am onwards) and we were guided to where some empty pitched might be that would suit us. Facilities have all been modernised and no fault can be found with them at all as they are kept very clean by the warden teams who do not stop! I would recommend that you take sufficient blocks to level your unit as some of the pitches look level but do have quite a slope. There are rabbits and squirrels on site and a couple of owls that you can hear but not see none of which gave any problems. There is a small shop at reception and as it's stocked by the wardens directly don't expect you are entering a branch of Tesco. There is a Spar a mile or so down the road. Speaking of shopping we forgot our chips and you just cannot have steak without them - having checked the shop the lovely warden gave us a handful of her own frozen ones. Now that is service over and above what's expected. The site was also decorated for the 40s weekend in Grassington and all the wardens were dressed up in costume - unfortunately you don't get to pay 1940s prices!! Also good to meet a member of the CAMC executive on site - good to speak to you!

Autumn break.

We followed the instructions to access the site and arrived without a problem. Wardens are very friendly. Facilities have been upgraded and are new, clean and warm. Pitches are gravel and well spaced. Two pubs a short walk. Leisure centre in the adjacent static site can be used, which has a pool, spa and sauna. Local SPAR shop is 10 min walk and has everything including fuel. I rate each site according to my own criteria and this scored 10/10. We couldn’t fault it.

Quiet escape

Great site managed by wardens who love their job and enjoy keeping it in tip top condition. The facilities are spotless as is the rest of the site. You can order a daily newspaper pay an extra 10p for the privilege. The pub is a 15 minute walk and the dog walk is very nice, the only downside is the site is over run with rabbits when it vets dark.

Excllent site

This is our second visit to this site. Only 15 mins from home but still makes a fantastic break. A one night stay on this occassion, with grandson & 2 dogs. Fabulous site and very well run and friendly wardens. Love The Gamekeeper, and plenty of local walks and beautiful scenery. We shall definitely return. Thank you

Great holiday

This is one of our favourite sites. The wardens are particularly friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make you feel welcome especially the South African couple and Bev! The facilities are excellent. Always really clean and plenty of showers available in the morning and evening. The pitches are also kept in immaculate condition and the whole site is very well maintained. It has a great location and lots of lovely walks straight from the site so you don’t need to use your car if you don’t want to. Grassington is about a 40 minute walk from the site and there is a well stocked shop about 10 minutes away. The dog walking area is also great and plenty of places to walk the dog off the lead. All in all a great location and great facilities with friendly staff. We will definitely be returning.

Fabulous site - can’t beat it.

Just home from Wharfdale. This is an excellent site, well laid out with a first class toilet block. The site is well looked after and very clean and tidy. All the staff we dealt with/met were extremely friendly and helpful and certainly a merit to the Caravan and Motorhome Club. The dog walk is great but can’t believe that some people still don’t clean up after their dogs, if everyone obeyed the rules about cleaning up after dogs and kept them on leads it would be better for all - but this is the same wherever you go and in no way a criticism of the site/staff. If you want a meal out without driving, there is the Gamekeepers Inn near the site or a little longer walk and you have the Old Hall Inn in Threshfield. Alternatively you can walk on into the beautiful village of Grassington. The site is great for peace and quiet and the on site shop stocks a few of the essentials, There is also a fabulous Spar Shop at Threshfield Garage that has a good selection of local foods including butchers and bakery sections. This was our 2nd time here and definitely it won’t be our last.
