Our first visit, stayed 4 nights, 24th to 28th April. It is in a excellent location for visiting Warwick and surrounding towns. The site is well kept and the toilet and showers were very clean. The wardens Mr and Mrs Taylor were very helpful. The site was not full during our stay and we had the choice of several grass pitches which all were of a good size. We will return to this site.
Location is excellent within close proximity to town. Plenty of places to eat and pubs in town centre.Sainsburys supermarket within walking distance.Just spent an enjoyable 4 days on site when the races were on, races can be watched from site viewing area without need to go into course if wanted.Facilities on site excellent as expected and site lovely, clean and tidy.Wardens are lovely, friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them.Would definitely go back again.
5 minutes walk into one of our most historic towns? What's not to like? Easy to get to,entry is across the racecourse.toilet and shower facilities clean and well maintained.we took 2 of our kids and while there is nothing for them on site,Warwick and the surrounding area will keep them busy for days.will definitely return
Walk into Warwick, stroll across fields or hike to the Grand Union canal with all that has to offer this site fits the bill. Not only that there are a couple of pubs in easy walking distance along with a Sainsburys supermarket for that all important food shopping. We were not disappointed and with everything so close at hand it made this stay a good choice. The wardens were helpful and friendly and we would recommend it.
We stayed at Warwick in Early April 2016 and found it really rather good.
The pitches are a mix of hard-standing and grass although the grass pitched do slope towards the road a bit.
The site is situated within the racecourse with easy access to the town and some superb country, canal (Grand Union) and River Avon walks. The 3.8 mile walk to the Hatton Locks is a treat. 21 locks in a row known as "The Stairway to Heaven"
Highly recommended!
We have just spent 4 very good days at this Warwick site, We were there when a race meeting was taking place on the Monday. It was very enjoyable not been to a race meeting before. The town was well within walking distance and the bus service to several places was good. We found the wardens very helpful and freindly. and the facilities were good and clean.
Will definately go again
Great site, we use it as a base. To be able to walk into Warwick Castle with the children is ideal, as well as been so close to Stratford, Gaydon Motor Museum just makes the days fly by. Alison & Andrew are great wardens, working very hard to keep the site so lovely. Great for walking the dog around the race course and a race day is highly recommended! No wifi....great! TV signal not so good, but that's great too for us!
With the site well away from main roads, it is lovely and peaceful, with a great area to walk the dogs around the racecourse immediately adjacent to the site.
The shops, pubs, eateries and tourist attractions of Warwick are also just a short stroll away from the site too.
No WiFi on site, and despite there being a very strong TV signal detected, it seemed to be obliterated by some other stronger signal making it impossible to tune to any channels at all.
Had looked at this site in the handbook and never really considered it. What a mistake. Lovely site in the centre of Warwick racecourse, easy walking distance into the lovely town of Warwick. Facilities were spotlessly clean, and very helpful wardens, very good dog walking around the racecourse. Location is very central. Will definitely return, first class.
