Another relaxing bank holiday weekend to recharge the batteries.

We have been visiting the Troutbeck Head site over the years and have always found the site to be of a very good standard. Our visit over the Easter bank holiday weekend was no exception. The site team were very welcoming and friendly with a good sense of humour. Both the site and site facilities were presented exceptionally well as always. The toilet facilities were immaculately presented, well heated and plenty of piping hot water within the showers and wash facilities. If there was anything negative about the weekend then that would be the weather. Typical bank holiday weekend but 'hey ho' you have not been to the lake district unless you have got wet. Will certainly be visiting again. Many thanks to the Team.

We enjoyed another break at this quiet and well run site, which is ideally situated just off the M6 but with easy access to the Lake District National Park. We have used this site many times over the years and have always found the wardens friendly and helpful. On this visit due to family circumstances we had to leave early and the wardens could not have been more supportive. Definitely a gem among the Club network and one which we will continue to enjoy

Peace and quiet!

Booked a last minute break here as we had a few days free - it was only 30 minutes from home and we wondered if we were a bit silly to pack up the caravan and go that short way. We couldn't have been more wrong! After a hectic week we found the site so peaceful and quiet, near to Penrith yet in the middle of nowhere with some lovely walks for the dogs. We thoroughly enjoyed our rest and relaxed totally in this lovely site. Couldn't fault the cleanliness of the facilities or the friendliness of the wardens - everything was perfect and we will definately return next time we get a few days off!

Quiet and out of the way

We are new to Caravanning so didn't really know what to expect. The location is lovely, the staff are great and the facilities are very good, but there is not very much in the shop. I forgot to take any sandwich bags, there were non for sale, but one of the maintenance blokes overheard my request and gave me some of his own! If you like to walk to a handy Pub, this is probably not the place for you. There is a Pub about 1.5 miles away, but no way of getting there without walking up the Road which could be dangerous. It is very handy if you want to tackle Blencathra. We will probably come here again.

Beautiful quiet site in a a great location for the Lake District

Had another great break at Troutbeck. Site really well maintained and wardens helpful and friendly as usual. A bit of a refurb done over the winter. The fully serviced pitches have been levelled off and new electric and water posts fitted. A lot of tidying up around the site, hedges chopped down etc. Only drawback was that the toilets blocks were not done up. I have checked with Caravan Club and the shower/toilet blocks are going to be done over next winter....so another year to wait. Facilities still nice and clean, plenty hot water and underfloor heating just very dated. Will be even better when the loo's have a new look! Happy days at Troutbeck.

Great, but a bit expensive?

This is an excellent Club site. Our children enjoyed the freedom this site brings to explore, play and ride their bikes. The views are stunning and the location is excellent for a range of activities. We had been somewhat concerned by some earlier mixed reviews about the wardens and the age of the site facilities. Happily, neither of these were an issue at all. The wardens were friendly and welcoming, especially towards our children. The facilities, whilst not the newest, were perfectly adequate and spotlessly clean. I would imagine they will be glad of a facelift soon, but this didn't detract from our enjoyment of the site. This site is not cheap, even factoring in the £1 a night price for kids (for whom the facilities are wonderful). Despite categorised pricing reflecting Easter holidays for some children, it was notably quiet on site with a surprising number of pitches unoccupied. Is this down to the price? To justify its current pricing, club wifi and updated toilet/shower blocks are probably required, but with a decent mobile signal, communication was not a problem. We will visit here again, without doubt.

Wonderful Lakeland Site

My husband and I recently spent 5 nights at Troutbeck Head. Our pitch was by the brook with wonderful views. It is a very well laid out site with very good facilities. We found it very quiet and peaceful, the only sound being the brook and the sound of birds. We have been to the Lakes on numerous occasions but not seen much of this area. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, helped by the lovely weather. We usually prefer CL sites, but would definitely visit Troutbeck Head again in the future and would recommend it to caravan into friends.

Wonderful views

Stayed at October half term so the site was busy but still peaceful. Great facilities and friendly, helpful staff. The only negative we found was that the underfloor heating was too warm and the time I used the shower would have been far too hot for a young child or someone with circulatory problems. The toilet blocks were lovely and warm but probably not very eco friendly.
