Just returned from a weeks stay here, yes a very friendly welcome from everyone. Just after we put up our awning there was the biggest thunder storm we have every seen in this country, during which there was about 2 inches of water all over our pitch, because of all the water we moved our small tent onto the grass out of the water, the water drained quickly but when the wardens saw our tent was on the grass they asked us to move back onto the pitch, as they are so concerned about their grass they should sort out their drainage to avoid any flooding in the first place. I hope the club plan to update the toilet blocks eventhough they were kept as clean as they could be there are signs of them being patched up and not very well done, also every evening when I went for a shower there was a strong smell of stale urine. All this was a shame as the location and views are excellent.
Had two stops here en route for Scotland as always excellent wardens friendly and helpful .A great job has been done on the service pitches the only reason I didn't give 5 star's was the continued lack of WiFi but the phone signal is better than before
A warm reception and a welcoming smile. What a difference this makes. Thank you guys, we really appreciate all you do for us. The site was immaculate.
A lovely, well cared for site in a truly delightful location. The northern Lakes area is so much quieter than the south and the scenery is just as dramatic. Just go there!
Superb site, clean , well layer out. Great location for walking from and brilliant if you have a dog or dogs. Staff were super friendly and efficient, had a wonderful stay, it makes a great base for touring the Lake District.
Only comment would be :don't believe them when site full sign is displayed as we almost drove on but when we asked we got a super pitch.
We would definately stay again and highly recommend.
A recent return to troutbeck with lovely views and lovely and quiet. The only couple of niggles is the yellow posts located throughout the site, the wardens are a bit anal about the grass which they claim is wet when some of it is scorched due to the recent dry weather, whatever you do don't touch it or you're in for a smack bot! Needless to say I will return.
Just got back from a fantastic holiday at trout beck wardens simply the best always had time for you. The view of Blencathra absolutely stunning, we were very lucky last week the weather was glorious for six days not a cloud in the sky apart from Sunday this week when we were returning home. its about 15 minutes to Keswick to the shore side of Derwent water, about the same time to Ullswater both with fantastic views of the mountains. We loved this site so much we have cancelled our next site visit and booked here instead. The toilet blocks were kept spotless but do need updating, while we were their the CCMC engineers were their with the site wardens having a meeting about this coming winter upgrade for the toilet blocks, once this has been done this will be another jewel in the crown for the ccmc. We had a service pitch but next time we are having a standard pitch with awning get far better views of Blencathra. One thing. l wish they would get the hardstanding right to much chatter on them, half has much again would be plenty and its not cheap, only criticism l had, not just on this site but on others too. Once again thanks to the wardens for making this a great May break CCMC should be proud of this site. Oh forgot great farm shop just up the road a must to visit
Spent 11 days at this beautiful site, around May Day. We were lucky enough to get a pitch exactly where we like to be on site. The view of Blencathra is stunning, especially in the sunshine and sunset. The toilet blocks are very clean and we love the underfloor heating - perfect for a cool morning. The whole site looked immaculate, only thing that spoils it are the yellow posts everywhere, to keep you off the grass. The wardens were all customer friendly and pleasant. Didn't see many families, but it could be due to the lack of WiFi. Only gave 4 stars for Families, because there isn't much space for children to play. However that wouldn't have bothered our children when they were young as we spent all of our time off site walking. Can't wait to return!
beautifully kept site, quite and peaceful!! Staff/ wardens are helpful and polite. THE only little issue are the yellow posts that are installed at the edge of the road to stop you from using the grass verge whilst moving around the site whilst the caravan is still attached to the vehicle. Its quite tricky with a 8ft wide caravan and 27ft long! But apart from that excellent site!!!!
