A view is this sites best facility

June..Just returned from 11 nights stay in the "top field" as all other pitches were full. We had stunning views here but a walk to the permanent toilet block. The facilities could well be improved by making the "Temporary toilet block" , permanent, thus cutting down the wait in the showers. Hot water for washing up was hit and miss and I had a lukewarm shower one morning too. The instructions for travel are misleading as you go down the hill on the 3266 and pass the sign which says Boscastle before turning off to Tintagel on 3263. Several people commented on this and one person got so confused had to get help from the wardens. There should be an hour gap between departure and arrival as the 3266 is very steep, narrow and has two hairpin bends which we think would make it impossible for two caravans to pass. The two saving graces are the Wardens and the views

Second visit

Stayed for 6 days in June, with daughter and 8 month old granddaughter. One wish is that pitches that are vacant could be pointed out in the office rather than the site walk, this will cut down on the congestion at the entrance. I also agree with a previous review that 12noon entry time should be adhered to. Apart from that the facilities are excellent and the all the wardens very cheerful and extremely helpful. I love the new floral displays.

Stunning

We are currently staying at Trewethet Farm, and are very happy with our grass pitch on the field, we have had absolutely no problem levelling our outfit.   The views are to die for. I do agree that the "temporary" toilet block is very much not up to standard but the other toilet block is close by and is very much up to Club standard. As for the Wardens, what can we say - they are the most cheerful, happy, helpful bunch we've ever come across despite the site being constantly busy. One point we would make is that arrival time at this site is 12 o'clock and it is no surprise that someone arriving after 1 is struggling to get a hard standing as the stream of new arrivals seems to start at anytime after daybreak.  Rules is rules folks! Overall we are having a superb stay here and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Arrivals

Another excellent site with really friendly wardens. My grouse is with caravanners who arrive 3 hours early. This is unfair on the wardens who then have to refuse entry. People have until 12 to pack up and leave if everyone arrived super early the lane to the site would be log jammed. Please can everyone stick to the 12 o clock rule it is there for a reason.

Not Club Standard

We arrived at 1.15pm to be told, no hard standing available (OK I accept the first come first served system) were then told to walk around the site to find a space then fetch the motorhome. We spent 15 minutes walking around, one of the spaces they told us to look at was available was not even big enough for our vehicle, we ended up on the grass at the top of the site which is very sloping, basic electric hook ups a row of dustbins in the middle of the field, one water tap in the top corner and the toilet and shower block were a disgrace! All we needed was a bit of music and it would have been like being at a festival. This is not what you expect from the Caravan Club, it was £10.00 per night standard for £22 per night! The other toilet block was a good walk away and because the site was so busy was always busy with ladies waiting 5 deep for a shower. I think this is an example of greed taking over, rather than saying no we are full and not taking extra bookings or the top field should be allocated as cheaper and bookable separate. This was a big disappointment to us. I know talking to others at the time they were not happy either

TERRIFIC TREWETHETT

Wow!  This was our first visit for ages but we were still over-awed by the stunning views and sunsets.  We were lucky to get a pitch on the upper level which had uninterrupted views of the beautiful blue sea and the cliffs.  Even though the site was full, it was very peaceful.  It was very blustery, but sunny, so the trick was to find a sheltered spot!  The walks around the area onto the Coastal Path are amazing and are ideal for the fit and energetic to walk either to Boscastle or Tintagel.  I haven't given the facilities section five stars as the toilet block is now a little tired, but kept beautifully clean, and is in need of updating.  Thanks must go to the wonderful wardens for their hard work in keeping the site pristine and their efficiency in the office.  Nothing seems to phase them.  We were delighted to find the warden from Merrose Farm nr St Mawes there this year - he has brought his expertise and enthusiasm to Trewethett and it shows!

Showering to rap 'music'

Lovely site, excellent wardens, well stocked shop, views to die for, grass not cut every time a daisy appeared, very peaceful except modern pop music in the toilet block, very loud and could be heard outside in the open air. Why oh why do wardens think it necessary to play music especially on a site that is renowned for peace and quiet. If it was soft background maybe OK but loud rap, whinging singing all day and night. We spent £26.per night to use our own facilities. We presume that the CC pay PRS to play the music. Also we felt sorry for people coming at 12 that all the prime pitches were taken by outfits coming in at 10.30. We also moved pitches as 4 huge 'circuses' came in so we moved to a quieter pitch.. From now on we will be ringing to see if music is played before we book. we think St. Mawes and Edinburgh also play the 'din' in their toilet blocks.

Beautiful site

Just back from spending 12 nights at this gem of a site. We were able to extend our stay as it such a georgeous site. The views are to die for, and we managed to get on the front row, which was great except for the very high winds, so be warned, had 3 bad nights, but worth it. The site is very tidy well laid out site, the toilet block clean warm and never crowded. The wardens were all very pleasant and friendly, always a wave and a chat. The shop well stocked and lovely pasties and bread delivered daily. A very nice relaxing holiday, we will be back - can't wait.
