Good central base

The access is very narrow, but the sat nav took us straight to the entrance. The sit is very well set out with plenty of space between pitches. Some of which have a hedge between. The site was good as a base for exploring the area and had convenient footpaths adjacent to the campsite. The wardens were great and most helpful and the site office has some provisions. The fish and chips were very good as well. Altogether a good well looked after clean site Well done wardens.

beautiful cornwall

We had a lovely holiday in Cornwall our first trip down that far, the site was very clean and pretty, but it was quite a distance away from anything, you had to use car to get to shops pubs anything really, but where we were it was very quiet, not much views as we were on hard standing, we moved when we got there to the hard standing because caravan began to sink into ground and we had two weeks there, but all in all we had a lovely holiday and wish we were back.

Doggy paradise

Beautiful location. Arrive after noon, leave before noon. As we were leaving We met an outfit on way in at 9.30am. It's a narrow lane and he decided to stop whilst I negotiated a way through with an inch either side so that if I clipped him it would no doubt be my fault. I took some time I can tell you. Site is immaculate and a credit to the wardens. I don't mind well behaved dogs but draw the line at those who bring four flock hounds to add to the numerous others already there. The impression I gained that it is ultra dog friendly. Not my scene.

1 Night Stopover

We spent one night here early July. Lovely spot. Clean, well maintained site & facilities. Helpful team. The walk leaflet from reception is well worth buying. Had a lovely walk to Holywell Bay, takes about an hour, explored the beach, had a drink in St Pirans Inn & walked back! Would recommend this site.

Perfect Pitch

Just returned from a two week stay at this site, very clean and well maintained pitches. The wardens are extremely friendly and very helpful to accommodate your every need. The dog walk is extensive and well worth a walk through even if you have no canine companion. The walk leaflet available from the reception is comprehensive and worth the purchase for some great walks. However the issue that I must draw upon is the inconsiderate members that spoil it for the majority of us, with loud televisions placed in their awnings rather than inside the caravan and switched on as early as 05:00am. Also the smokers amongst us who discard their butts into the hedges and directly onto the hard standings, hoping that they will blend in! They don't ! But please please visit this site if you have not done so, it is one of the best in Cornwall that we have stayed on.

Stop no 5 our south coast tour

Ideal location for good sandy beaches most dog friendly. Various Dog was whI have take you of site into local country side unfortunately you have to look for theses paths main dog walk is OK but very steep. Large children's area was getting a noisey at 10pm warden dId go and speak to individualsender. Now to the site it's self it's quite large and with steep quadientso to toilet block from the bottom of the site we were lucky we were on the sea view part unfortunately you couldn't see the sea but the position was good just a few steps down to toilet block if the wind was wrong you could smell the chip van not a real problem large green space in front of caravans plenty of room around pitches.Wardens doing a good job keeping the toilet block and site clean.Road to site is narrow in places bit of a pain when leaving the site before 12 and vans coming in before 12. Morrisons and LidlI close by 10 minutes by car.Would we visit again certainly.

Excellent Site.....If a bit hilly...!!

Our first visit to Cornwall and our first (but not last!) visit to this site. Usual high CC standards, could potentially do with a second toilet \ shower block but never struggled. The site is on a reasonably steep gradient and we were pitched on the bottom field. Definitely got your blood pumping walking to the toilet block on a morning! Wardens were friendly and very helpful with directions and a small problem we had on our aerial socket on the post was quickly repaired. Site is central for most locations in Cornwall and is no more than an hour from the further tourist spots. Phone signal is non-existent so if you've teenagers, they may panic! We did get a TV signal from our van aerial but you get more channels using the aerial socket on the EHU post. Previous reviews have mentioned the access road in.....we were lucky not to meet anybody coming in but did meet 3 outfits on the way out, luckily in the widest parts! It is single track most of the way. Do follow the instructions given on the CC site. The other way in as a definite NO NO with your van on! Site has visits 2 or 3 times a week from local butcher and fish & chip van. Wildlife a plenty and enough rabbits to film a scene from watership down if your up early enough! We will definitely be visiting this site again next year, an excellent base for enjoying the best of Cornwall.

A pleasant stay !

A lovely site in a good location just outside of town but within easy reach of perranporth and Newquay. Friendly wardens who keep the site well maintained, some pitches require some levelling so it's advisable to ensure you have some levelling ramps. The showers and facilities are ok but would benefit from an update as they are a bit dated compared to some sites which I have visited but kept clean. It's very peaceful here a great place for a relaxing stay.

My favourite site

Busiest I've ever seen it but still Viv and the team manage to keep it clean and tidy and are so friendly and welcoming...and helpful! Peaceful and beautiful with lots of wildlife to watch, the site really feels like a sanctuary in more ways than one. As with other reviewers though, I have to mention the club members who break the rules and make more work for the wardens...dogs off leads, driving the wrong way up a one-way system..it's not fair when the rest of us do our best to abide by the the rules.

Will be back

Our second visit and will definitely be returning. We always take our dog with us and the dog walk on this site is exceptional. Lovely pitch areas. You can watch the sunsets from the top of walking area. Newspapers are available to order from the CL site at the top of the hill. (you may want to take your car if you find waking difficult) Lovely site wardens, very friendly. We always go to Holywell Bay beach but there are so many to choose from. Our son tried the Jet Skis at Lusty Glaze Beach in Newquay, he thoroughly enjoyed it. Cant' wait to go back
