Excellent site - and excellent wardens

We spent two nights here as part of our March " Grand Tour of Relations"! We received a warm welcome with lots of humour, but also attention to detail of the facilities we might need. From our point of view, the site is well placed for what we need, and the facilities were up to the usual high standard expected (Though we did note that some maintenance was scheduled for a weekend, which we thought would have been a busy time; but if it needs doing, it needs doing!) We were impressed with the hours the wardens put in, and the variety of tasks they got through. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay - we'll be back.

Great Start to the season

This is one of our favourite club sites, perfect for this beautiful part of Norfolk and not too distant from our home for a long weekend break. It has good sized, level, gravel pitches, decently spaced. My only criticism is that some pitches are positioned directly opposite another outfit, rather than being staggered a touch. The toilet blocks are good, albeit of an older configuration and they are spotlessly maintained. The new wardens were polite, welcoming, friendly and very helpful - an asset to the site and the club. There is always lots to see and do in this part of Norfolk, whatever the weather. This time we were blessed with wall to wall sunshine for 4 days, taking advantage of some great walks by the coast. A little patch of heaven!

Beautiful start to our Caravanning year!

This was our first sortie this year, and not too far from our Essex home. The site was lovely, fairly empty and we were allowed to drive round the site and choose our pitch. Beautiful, large, hard standing pitches with grass and trees around - really pretty restful place to be! The woods were beautiful too. The wardens are all new there this year and absolutely charming - nothing too much trouble for them, there was a temporary water leak in the nearest toilet block to us so the water had to be turned off just as I was emptying our toilet cartridge into the waste tank.......I was a bit worried that I wasn't able to make the area as shining clean as I would have liked but the warden had a laugh with me and pointed out that worse things could happen!! The regular visits by the fish and chip van were welcome as there is nowhere to eat close by, and the food was cooked to order, hot and tasty! A thoroughly enjoyable five day start to our year, the whole area is beautiful and great to walk through the woods to the Sandringham Estate - itself a stunningly beautiful walk. Would thoroughly recommend it and will definitely go there again! I would also advise treating yourself to a meal in the Sandringham visitors restaurant as the food looked very tempting. Kings Lynn is a wonderful town to visit, and not too far - the museum there has the most impressive displays with beautiful artifacts very well presented and supported by interactive visual aids, some funding from the Lotteries Commission has helped this to become a very seriously interesting trip. Another positive that came from our trip was that we watched a man on his own with a caravan the size of ours, using a mover to position his van, then later to reposition it to his car to tow away - we had been considering the purchase of one for a while and seeing how easy it made the procedure, we have now bought one and had it fitted today.......exciting times ahead!!!!

Lovely and welcoming site

As first time caravanners we chose this site as it wasn't too far from home. We were very impressed with our welcome and the cleanliness of the site. The facilities were excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

First of the year.

Perfect in every way, from the moment we arrived to the sad time of leaving. With my wife being disabled we were afforded a pitch extremely close to the disabled shower and toilet facility. The dog walks in the forest were such a revelation to our old dog that she got a new lease of energy, along with a hearing loss! We enjoy Norfolk and this site is up there with best.

Beginners luck

We chose this site for our first ever experience of using a motorhome. Declared ourselves as beginners when booking in, the lady behind the desk delightedly squealed, "Ooh! Motorhome virgins!" She could not have been more helpful and gave us all the information we needed to enjoy our stay whilst not making ourselves look especially stupid. For dog owners the site is a dream with so many forest walks accessed from the site. All facilities were way, way better than we were expecting. One of our favourite discoveries was aren't caravan and motorhome people friendly and helpful! We'll be back for more.

As you would expect from CMC

Stayed just for two nights. Surprisingly busy yet only one facilities block open. Bus stops right outside. Used Stagecoach app for Dayrider tickets to King's Lynn & Hunstanton. Good site. Walks straight into woodland.

Woodland delight!

We spent a week at this site and were not disappointed! Situated amongst the trees of the Sandringham Estate, this is a beautiful setting. We arrived on the Saturday afternoon to be told that there was only one pitch available. We were not disappointed, it was perfectly situated for everything - toilets/showers, the woods etc., etc. Shortly after setting up camp we followed the directions on the information leaflet and enjoyed a stroll through the woods to the Sandringham estate. Whilst the house and gardens were not open we still enjoyed our visit and sat outside having tea and cakes which were reasonably priced. As were the gifts on sale in the shop. The toilets and showers on site are truly immaculate!! Full marks to the wardens who obviously take great pride in keeping them spotless. Site is handy for the bus stop which we took in to Kings Lynn for a leisurely walk around, enjoying the old part the most. The nearby village of Holt is well worth a look around and I would highly recommend The Folly for one of the best afternoon teas ever! Also, worth a look is the tea room at Castle Rising - the stilton and apple sandwiches were absolutely delicious! The only thing I could fault on this site was the fish and chip van that does the rounds at 6pm three times a week.. They were the worst, most tasteless fish and chips ever experienced - most went in the bin. There again, it is down to personal taste and some people might think they are ok. All in all I would definitely recommend this site - if you are a National Trust member, there are plenty of places to visit.

Excellect site

We booked in for 2 nights to try out our new caravan, but we loved it so much we stayed for an extra night. Good decision! Weather was good but the site is excellent, probably the best in the country!
