East Coast Tour

This was our first visit. The site was easy to find and access. Booking in was efficient, with a helpful and friendly greeting from the warden. It is a large and popular site, and parts of the site did feel rather crowded, having said that it is quiet and peaceful in its woodland setting with no external road noise apparent. Facilities are good, with two toilet blocks, always clean, though showing some signs of age. We thought the opening hours of the toilet blocks were very good, the afternoon cleaning period meant there was less rush in the mornings to use the facilities before cleaning closure. The site location cannot be faulted, a pleasant 20 min walk takes you to the Sandringham house visitor centre, and there is potential for loads of walks in the surrounding estate woodlands. A good safe site for families with children, with nice playground and plenty of access to explore the surrounding woods. Bus stops right outside site entrance, fish & chip van and pizza van visit site a couple of times a week. A visit to the nearby village of Wolfreton (we walked) to see the former royal train station is well recommended. It is a private home but visitors are made very welcome (no admission charge), and the attention to detail of the station restoration is amazing.

Once More to Sandringham

Whenever we feel like getting away for a few days, Norfolk and Sandringham come to mind. A mid-week start just out of school holidays was as quiet as anticipated. The site obviously became busier towards and over the following weekend. This was fine, but perhaps it emphasised the smallness of the smaller toilet block. Three shower cubicles are not really enough for a busy site, although there is, of course, the larger toilet block not too far away. However, the well maintained site was as good as ever and the wardens friendly and helpful. For motorhome users, bus stops adjacent to the site entrance are ideal and as bus pass holders the bus system is used extensively, one way to Kings Lynn and the other to Hunstanton. Lots of walking is always available, whether through the woods to Sandringham House or around the coast from Hunstanton. Of course the 'Coasthopper' bus service is ideal as a means of investigating the small villages dotted around the coast-line, So, another enjoyable stay at Sandringham site and looking forward to the next visit. Well recommended!

A short drive to the seaside ...

A pleasant site, nice walks (approx 20 mins to Sandringham estate - be aware, public cannot view all rooms of the house but museum worthwhile ..) - Hunstanton closeby for the seaside ... Does seem an expensive site though, especially over bank holiday weekend.

Over priced?

This site is in a great location and the wardens maintain it very well, however they are charging premium prices and the shower facilities are old, small and we often had to queue to shower. Competition from commercial sites are offering better facilities at a similar price.

Spring Visit

Very friendly wardens, and very helpful on our arrival. Super pitches and excellent shower/toilet blocks. Lovely walks in the woods and lots of interesting places nearby, e.g. Sandringham House and grounds, Hunstanton and it's attractions and rural beaches and countryside. Great site. A pleasant weekend

We recently spent the Easter weekend at his site.Every thing was what we expected. Pitches were fine as far as we were concerned. Shower block, the one we used was up to standard and no complaints from us. There are plenty of walking oppourtunites for dog lovers, like ourselves and people who likw walking to enjoy themselves. A chip van and Pizza van put in an appearence on two of the nights during our stay. Dog owners should note there is a seasonal canine desease, but I am lead to believe this is more in the autumn time. For days out there is plenty to choose from along the Norfolk coast and other places of interest further inland. A walk around Holkham park is very nice and if you feel like it a visit to Holkham Hall. There is a good walk at Glandford, around the Bayfield Farm Estate. To find this location head for Cley next the Sea and take the signs for Cley Spy. There is a RSPB reseve at Titchwell for any bird watchers and ample oppoutunities at places like Brancaster, Morston Quay, Thornham, Blakeney, Snettisham RSPB etc to have a nice walk along the sea front and see some bird life etc. A walk to Sandringham House and the Church is within walking distance from the site. Hunstanton is only a fifteen minute drive up the road for those who have young families and fancy a more traditional dayat the sea side. The site is kept upto standard by the wardens who do a good job from what we saw on our visit. There are two pubs in nearby Dersingham if you fancy a meal out at any time. We only live an hours drive from this site and though it was our first visit we would not esitate to have more long weekend stays here. Lots to do in Norfolk, so give it a go.

Quiet and relaxing

We had a 3 night stay and had a lovely relaxing break, the wardens were friendly and helpful, the shower and toilet block very clean. The walk through the woods to sandringham was lovely excellent for dogs there are lots of dog walks, our dog had a lovely time running in the woods, we had a rainy day but it didn't spoil our time there. The fish n chip van that came had very nice fish n chips, we couldn't fault anything about our stay.

Lovely place

We love coming to Sandringham Estate the site is lovely and have been a few times now. Our only complaint is when people are up and about emptying waste etc as early as 7am. We work and when we come for a weekend a short lie in is great but we get woken up by people wheeling their waste containers along the tarmac, a time should be out in place for this.
