Lovely Bank holiday

We stayed at the stunning Sandringham club site this lovely hot bank holiday weekend, what a perfect place to stay. The site and facilities are kept immaculately, an absolute credit to the wardens and assistant wardens. This is probably the best site we have stayed on. The area itself is just beautiful with all the surrounding woodland and quaint villages that are within the Sandringham estate. It's an easy walk to Sandringham house and visitor centre plus it's great for cycling too. We can't recommend this site enough. A massive thank you to the Wardens Steve & Mark, and assistants Steve &Deb, John & Sandra. Keep up the great work guys, see you again soon.

Lovely bank holiday weekend

This was our first visit to Sandringham site, and it defiantly won't be our last. Lovely site with very friendly & helpful wardens. Lots of different pitches to choose from some in full sun or if you like a more shaded spot there were plenty. This is a larger site but doesn't feel to big and well set out with good facilaties and very well kept. This is an ideal site for visiting the Sandringham estate or the surrounding area such as huntanton or king's lynn. Lovely walks from the site to Sandringham or if you like to bike it's an easy ride on quiet roads. On the weekend we were their the fish and chip van and also a pizza truck visited both were very good and also the ice cream van visited on both days!

A short but great stop

As usual we only used the site as a short stopover when travelling into Norfolk from home but it is a lovely and beautiful site kept very clean and tidy by the friendly wardens and would suit a longer stay. There are two toilet blocks and the pitches very large although the site does slop upwards from the entrance and you may need some levelling on your outfit. We took a short trip out to Snettisham beach and had a great meal at the Coach and Horses in Dersingham whiere there is a very good Co-op store. A big thank you to the wardens for a great but short stay.

Peaceful site

Lovely quiet and peaceful site. Facilities very clean but a bit dated in my opinion. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a pizza, fish and chip van and weather permitting ice cream van that visit the site on a regular basis. There wasn't a multitude of kids riding around at break neck speed which made for a pleasant change to other sites we have visited. Nice to sit and watch the rabbits feeding. The downside is the total lack of wifi and mobile phone signals. Makes life difficult when you want to keep in contact with family while away. It was quite funny watching folk walking around and standing outside their vans waggling their phones around trying to get a signal!

The Sound Of Silence

This site is just so peaceful, an ideal place to escape from the humdrum world. We arrived at the beginning of July for a two week stay that was extended to three and had a lovely pitch in the Lynnwood part of the site. Wardens Jon and Sandra gave us a warm welcome and although only our second visit it was like meeting up with old friends. This is a large site but is split into several areas sharing two toilet/shower blocks which coped well when the site was busy and were always clean and well maintained. The pitches are large and well spaced with a myriad of wonderful animal sounds coming from the woods, very relaxing. One night we heard a strange eerie shrieking echoing through the woods. Other people heard it too and some said it made their dogs uneasy. No one knew what it was but I'd put my money on a pterodactyl roosting in the treetops. Best wear a stout hat when walking in the woods - just in case. Make that a very stout hat! There are many places to visit in the area with Brancaster having a massive beach (our favourite) and Holkham Hall having large grounds to explore for a modest £3 parking fee. We saw deer roaming and two red kites soaring above the lake there. Kings Lynn, Cromer, Holt and Sheringham are all a short drive or easy bus ride from the stop outside the site. We tried the Silk Road Chinese at Heacham which does a lovely all you can eat buffet on a Sunday so go and fill your boots - metaphorically that is! As well as leaflets from the information room don't forget that the wardens have good knowledge of the area and are very helpful with places to visit and best parking places in the busy towns. There are six wardens here and I must compliment them on the fun way that they interact with their visitors. They make staying at Sandringham a really relaxing experience. Thanks guys and girls. This is a site that I can strongly recommend and will be visiting again, we have already booked for Christmas. Great site, great location and great wardens so forget decorating, blocked drains or whatever at home. Stay here and chill out then go home feeling totally relaxed with a big smile on your face. We did.

Yet another great stay

When we arrived reception was very busy but, because of the friendly welcome and the efficient process of registering it did not take long. We found a suitable hard standing pitch, unfortunately we didn't notice it was close to a dog walk, and got set up. As always, the site is in very good condition. The facilities were perfectly clean at all times. Whenever we met one of the staff they were always friendly and helpful. We had one small problem towards the end of our stay and it was resolved quickly. During our stay there were 2 or 3 events on in the Sandringham Estate which made our stay interesting. We shall definitely be back

Lovely site for coast and woodland hills

Our third visit to this lovely site beautifully situated in woodland with a 40 minute walk to Sandringham House through the woods to see Liz and Phil.Site wardens friendly and helpful and site kept well although toilet/shower facilities in need of upgrade.Good choice of pitches giving you the option of shade or sun.Old Hunstanton Cromer Sherringham and Wells next the sea all within a maximum 60 minute drive (suggest for Wells go via Fakenham as coastal road not good). Heacham beach worth a visit for a quiet beach suggest South beach as you can road park free, unlike North beach which offers a rather expensive car park!.Both offer basic facilities including café. One of our favourite sites and will return.

Lovely Site in a Great Location

Sandringham Club site is in an ideal location, with easy access from all main routes and providing visitors with all the attractions of Norfolk's coast and countryside, as well as Sandringham House itself. The welcome at reception is warm and helpful, with information on both the site and local amenities. The Information Room is packed with all that you could want to make the most of your stay. Pitches are consistently generous in size, and a lot of work has gone into making them as level as possible on what is a sloping location. However, many pitch surfaces and grassed surrounds are beginning to look a little worn, reflecting the popularity of this site. Water, power, refuse and waste water disposal are all within easy reach, at the usual high standard of Club sites. There are two shower/toilet blocks which are more than adequate for the numbers using them, and they are cleaned and maintained to the normal high standards we see elsewhere on Club sites. However, these too are starting to look a little "tired" and along with the pitches, would benefit from the refurbishment and upgrades we have seen recently on other sites on our travels. All staff were unfailingly polite and helpful and are a valuable asset to the site and the Club. One negative note from this particular stay that I must confess to having already mentioned in other reviews, but is important. We continue to see an increasing number of drivers who seem unable to adhere to the 5 mph speed limit when driving on the site. I am not referring to those who might "drift" between 5 - 10 mph, but to those who appear to think that they and others are still safe when they are doing 15 - 20 mph, whether in a "solo" car, a motorhome, or even towing a caravan. This trend has, I feel, reached the stage where perhaps the Club should consider instructing all wardens to remind drivers of the 5 mph speed limit on site when they arrive and register for a stay. This is overall a lovely site in a beautiful semi-woodland setting, in a great location, offering something for all. The enjoyment and peace and quiet is a major feature, and with the type of refurbishment of pitches and shower/toilet blocks we are seeing on Club sites elsewhere, we feel that Sandringham would easily maintain, and enhance, its reputation as a "flagship" Club site. It is genuinely one of our favourites - witnessed by the fact that next month we are scheduled for our third visit this year. We heartily recommend it to you.

Lovely site

This is a lovely site but a lot of pitches suffer from lesser levels of sunlight due to the overgrown trees. You can be lucky and get a pitch that's in the sun for the whole day. We found that there are no markings on the shower taps and temperature controls which makes it difficult to choose which way to operate them. That's it so far as gripes go. The site is within a very pleasant walking distance to Sandringham house (for those who are capable) and there is the café and restaurant outside the formal gardens for those who do not wish to visit the house or gardens or those with dogs in tow. The amount of access in the estate is huge. Supermarkets are in abundance just outside King's Lynn and there is a medium sized Asda, with fuel station, even closer at South Wooton. The site shop has the basics and more, including Calor and those cream teas which are excellent value and rather tasty, you know. And not to forget the hard working staff who are brilliant.
