Marmite site......early morning jet noise . Technology struggles to work. Be warned.

This might be a totally unfair review, but at the end of the day we can only judge it on the short 2 night stay we had . Maybe we just got unlucky days with the overhead jet noise , but oh my goodness they are loud , long and constant , with an 8:30 start and each one rumbling for 10 minutes as they pass. Maybe the jets aren’t passing every day , i am sure they aren't ...but if you get a couple of days like ours , its only fair you are warned. Someone mentioned to us you can check when they are flying on a website , so if you think the noise will bother you , do that before booking . Just to add , you can’t see the jets , just hear them . I think they fly higher to try and minimise the noise. It doesn’t work . Apart from the noise of jets , the internet connection is bad , tv connection bad and mobile signal bad. We had to drive 6 miles to get internet and phone connection at one point . I am sure this is one person's heaven and another persons hell, hence my title of a marmite site . You will either adore it or hate it . The site is beautiful , peaceful if you are lucky enough to get a non jet flying day . The wardens are great . We felt very safe in the covid crisis. Sandringham gardens are worth a visit . The house is only about 8 rooms and we felt a bit of a rip off. Hunstanton is worth a visit . Not enough here to do for a week really , unless you are into fitness and like walking or running , maybe cycling , but the roads can be a bit dodgy round here . You need a car for everything . Its a lovely site but just check the jet flying if you think that will bother you and remember , you are pretty much off grid with technology struggling to work

Fantasic location

We arrived on Sunday 5th June to stay three nights we liked it so much we stayed for 14. The team of wardens managed the COVID 19 Secure check in very efficiently, and the wrist band system is a great idea, a small amount of members did not seem to get the idea of try to use your own facilities as much as possible. I feel during these more careful times children should not be allowed to use the toilet blocks unsupervised, I had unfortunately to speak to two boys 10 -12 years old I guess, for playing games in the toilet block they took a great deal of time in the block sky larking and soaked the entire floor with water. The Sainsbury supermarket at Kings Lynn is huge with plenty of parking and petrol station, only 10 - 15 minutes drive away, Heacham beach is a great walk along the front and Mobility Scooter friendly, Hunstantan is a decent small town with plenty of reasonable places to eat. I enjoyed a round of Golf at Heacham Manor Golf club £26.00 for a round, nice open course and easy to find your way around. Only negative was the Wifi at the top end of the site was down for the whole 14 days despite the best efforts of the wardens to get it sorted they was let down by the supplier to the site. For once we did not feel overwhelmed by members with small herds of dogs fouling the site at will grat place, great team managing the site thank you

First Weekend 17/07

This was our first weekend away since week before lockdown and wasn’t sure what to expect but I needn’t have worried as the site team made everything clear of what was expected of the caravaners. For myself and my wife it was first class. Social distancing, armbands for toilet blocks, waste disposal was crystal clear and I never had to queue once for any amenities. So thanks club and a special thanks to the site team.

Life after COVID

Arrived 4th July, on the first day of reopening. Was so impressed with the organisation, from the pre-payment to the warden at the gate, to the wristbands for the toilet block. Very well arranged and organised - well done CAMC. Most people were obviously using their own facilities, which makes a lot of sense in these uncertain times. Those that were using them, were patient and orderly and there was plenty of space to queue. Facilities as ever were clean and well maintained. The rabbits had somewhat taken over, but that certainly wasn't a problem, it certainly kept our dog entertained. Have been to this site before, there are so many wonderful walks from the site and you have easy access to the coast and lots of tourist attractions. Just wanted to let everyone know, it is safe to go out there and the wardens made it very easy to comply with Government Guidance.

Sandringham first stay.

We stayed at Sandringham Estate site on Saturday 14th of March till Sunday 15th afternoon. First of all I have to say how pleasant and helpful the lady on reception was. I asked where I can pitch up and was told anywhere I like that has a white peg marker. We found a nice spot close to the trail leading through the woods. We thought it was a nice clean site, toilet and shower facilities were very clean. We tried the pizza and they are very tasty pizzas. Next time we’ll try the fish and chip van! Our dog enjoyed the walks as much as we did. Overall a very nice site, friendly and helpful staff and great facilities. We’ll be visiting again soon.

A Royal Delight

We had the pleasure to stay at Sandringham Glucksberg Wood site from Fri 14th - Sun 16th inclusive, yes Storm Dennis weekend! What a complete delight the site was along with Sally on reception. The wardens couldn’t have been more helpful, suggesting beautiful woodland walks including a 45min stroll through the lovely park woods to Sandringham House along with the Fish and chip van on Friday evening which again we would highly recommend. The site facilities were excellent and spotlessly clean and well cared for. Sites like this make motorhome and caravanning a complete pleasure. The site is also located conveniently next to a bus stop so we grabbed the 35 into Kings Lynn for £4.50 return- bargain. We absolutely loved our Valentines weekend despite Dennis trying to blow or wash us away! Highly recommend this site #kudos Sally and team and booked again for August!

Another great stay

Thanks to the wardens for making our stay so enjoyable. A lovely birthday for my husband, even happy birthday posted on the board! The site is well run and toilet block very clean despite being ready for a refurb. Great for the dogs with forest walks directly from the site where they can run off lead. A lovely walk to the visitor centre for a coffee and walk back. Can’t wait for our next visit in February and thanks again to the wardens for doing a great job. Mark, Anne and the shelties.

My Family Were Disappointed !

We arrived on the 13th January 2020 in high winds and pouring rain. The warden suggested where we should pitch as our family (new to the club) were also arriving that day. The hard standing pitch was well drained and sheltered from the winds. Our family in 3 seperate caravans with dogs and no children were disappointed with the general running of the site with no toilet facilities from 10-15 til 11-30 for cleaning - there was another block but it was closed for the winter although the site was quite busy. Wi Fi had to be paid for, whilst free on commercial sites! The site is listed as dog friendly, sadly not as far as the wardens are concerned. Please caravan Club drag yourselves into the 2000's and care about what your new younger members are looking for, especially courtesy from wardens, we are after all your customers!
