We stayed here during the Easter Bank holiday, lovely spotless site, although some of the pitches were a bit tight, impossible to get a large caravan onto. However I was warned about this on arrival. Great views from the site looking down the valley. Only slight downside was the very small dog walking area. I injured my back prior to our visit and it became a lot worse during our visit. The two Wardens were superb, a great help to us, guiding us to local doctors, offers of help even the loan of a walking stick. Could not have been better looked after. Once again a huge thank you to Les and Angie, you prevented our holiday being totally ruined.
Even better than last year
We arrived on good Friday for the weekend and were welcomed by the friendly wardens, we were informed that the lower level had been changed from grass to hard standing pitches with full service facilities. We had reserved the only remaining service pitch and were not disappointed, the pitch and site are immaculate and a credit to the hard working staff, we will be back again and again.
Thanks for a great weekend.
4th Visit
Wanted to check out the new changes to one of our favourit parks. Some new hard standing laid and as usual excellent facilities. very warm welcome from freindly wardens who keep the site perfect. Still bit chilly at this time of year late March but who cares, lovely weekend visit on lovely site,
will be back
Report
The site was very clean and tidy. We too went the end of March and in came the high winds and rain. The staff kept the Shower and Toilet Blocks immaculate and they were also heated. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and so can recommend this site to all wanting to visit Derbyshire

Graham and Jacky
Much improved site, a lot of hard work has been done by the wardens to get this site ready for the new season. Toilet block was immaculately clean a credit to the wardens, as was the grounds. A very enjoyable stay.

Good Weekend
Everything up to the established Caravan Club standard, including helpful and good natured site wardens. Only one reservation: signed up for wifi but though I could get it on the iPhone it wasn't possible to on the iPad. (Didn't try simultaneously.) But that's minor given the quality of everything. Went to Strutt's Mill in Belper. Well worth a visit.

shame about the weather
stopped here the last weekend of march, roll on summer. On this van we treated ourselves to an auto tune satellite dish so unfortunately could not pitch on our preferred locations away from the road as the trees barred reception (didn't realise this until we were all set up and watching the dish whirr around and round, so hope this will aid someone else).
there is a small dog walk at the site however struggled to find any longer walks in the vicinity.
Belper itself is a lovey town with the high street full of small independent shops,pubs,etc..
the wardens are courteous and kept the facilities spotless.
Great site
First trip in 2015, great site but poor weather. If possible park away from the busy road. Site handily placed for many Peak District attractions.
Comfy
The only problem with this site is the constant road noise starting as early as 6.30am As this was our first visit we didn't realise the problem and if possible would park further back on the sight
The wardens were a credit to the club.no children with us so really cannot comment
comfy

Weekend of Peace and Quiet
The Firs is a lovely small site situated looking over a valley with fabulous views. Spent a really peaceful weekend of my birthday. The site is within easy access of places like Belper, Matlock, Cromford Mill and Ashbourne where there are plenty of choices for eating out. The facilities are spotless and the new wardens are friendly and helpful. Really worth a visit.
