Ideal location

Great location with the centre of town within 5 minutes walk. Friendly wardens who deserve a Britain in Bloom Award for the floral display at reception. All amenities very cleans and well maintained. Certainly going to return for a longer visit.

The warmest of welcomes awaited us.

A very warm welcome awaited us on arrival. Think it’s the best we’ve had anywhere. Site was lovely and well looked after. Have to say Tewkesbury did live up to expectations but it was only a stop over. All in all good site a super wardens.

Over priced and noisy

There are a lot of negatives on this site. A noisy car park, a footpath to a large housing estate, another car park and a rugby club all surround this site so don’t expect to relax! Grass pitches with awnings were packed in and after the rain were boggy. Where we were pitched proved difficult to access due to the way members had pitched. Wardens were friendly and helpful but turned a blind eye to speeding and COVID rule breaking. Tewkesbury is very pretty but we found very few places accepted dogs. Would we use again - only as an overnight stop.

Lovely position

Booked as a stopover on our journey North and was so glad we had 2 nights there as so much to see and a really beautiful and interesting town. What a surprise! So easy to walk into town and walk on the open fields next to the Abbey. Perfect for dog owners. We even loved the clock chimes as part of the local character. The site was busy but clean and as expected under Covid restrictions. Staff friendly and helpful on site which is better than some where there is no human contact at all. The flower boxes and baskets everywhere were stunning. Well done and thanks for the effort put in to make it a lovely stay.

Great site

We have been using this site not only for a several day stay but also as a stop over when travelling south. We are always met by friendly staff who have to explain the rules of the site as not all visitors are aware of them. The site is ideal for accessing Tewksbury - your in the middle of it. The facilities are clean and well maintained as is the rest of the site. We are currently in Devon, we stopped in Tewksbury on the way down and on the way back tomorrow we’ll be stopping over again. I’m somewhat disappointed at some recent reviews which allude to the use of the toilet/shower blocks - use your own (as you suggest everyone should), stop complaining the Club / Wardens are doing what they can. And as for the person complaining they were on a cramped grass pitch - should have booked hard standing - doh!! As for the church clock chiming, personally I think this is a great feature but if you don’t like it, don’t stop here again because they ain’t gonna stop it for you. Keep up the good work folks.

Beautiful, excellent site

This was our first visit to this beautiful site, we were met at the gate and everything was fully explained. We were asked to find our ideal pitch and the report to the office. We were delighted to find a ptch with block paving which was ideal for our motorhome and in particular my wife's mobility scooter. This is the first time that we have come across this type of pitch which from our point of view is excellent. The town and Abbey are only a short walk away and there are many shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants plus beautiful riverside walks. The Wardens were friendly and helpful and the facilities were spotless and well maintained. We loved this peaceful and beautiful site and will certainly be visiting again.

Location great, but site awful.

Stay at this site for 2 nights after which we were glad to leave. On arrival we were greeted at the entrance by an abrupt warden who immediately told us the rules of the site etc. Then he confused us by saying we needed to use the motorhome service point to fill up, despite us having an Aqua roll in our storage area. Went to motorhome service point which can accommodate 2 Motorhomes comfortably, to find some inconsiderate other person taking up the whole bay while filling up. Whilst waiting for it to be come free, went to the toilet block where only 4 persons at any time are permitted entry. You have to take a rubber wrist band out of a liquid solution in a tub hanging outside before entering. There was already a queue of 3 persons waiting to gain entry to shower, so if you really were desperate to use the toilet, it would have been dreadful. Returned to motorhome service point and other user was just finishing filling up with water then moved off. After filling up our water tank we drove around the site looking for a pitch. It was really busy and very little social distancing between pitches and no privacy at all. We parked on the pitch and set up. 30 minutes later a warden was riding around the site and approached us, telling us we hadn’t parked between the markers correctly ! Was told we must park correctly. Surely a pitch is there to be used fully. Does it matter whether you’re on the left or right side of the pitch? We didn’t have an awning or other vehicle on the pitch? We complied as directed nevertheless. Too many others using the site which was fully booked. Toilet block should have been closed and all Caravaners / Motorhomes should be using their own facilities. Abbey bells chiming on the hour every hour throughout the day & night, so no sleep had at all. Only good thing about the site was the 5 minutes walk into Tewkesbury. Won’t return again.

Ok for a night

Used as a stopover for a night while heading south west due to proximity to m5 and facilities locally. Nice area but 1 night is enough on this site. Extremely busy and packed in like sardines on the grass pitches in the rows behind the hardstanding, very poor access on some pitches. Club certainly making use of all available space.glad we arrived early pm and not later as dread to think what sort of pitch would be left.fortunately dry so no issues there with getting bogged down. Not overly keen on picking a wristband out of a bucket of bleach either, only 4 allowed in facilities block at a time too, crazy on a busy site, might as well just close the amenity block.so best off to use your own loo / shower unless you enjoy queues. Facilities all round were clean however. Found one of the wardens rather abrupt and not overly welcoming, not a great first impression after 180 miles behind the wheel..the other guy we spoke to later was spot on however.. Site Served its purpose but wont be rushing back….particularly at the current price.would find a CL next time.

Beautiful

We love going to Tewkesbury, great little high street with everything you need... Nice Park (Off Site for the Kiddies) and the Site itself is very well maintained (Would say this is the best site we have been too) Great Stop off for the M5 Run down to Cornwall or Devon
