A lovely spotless site

Just spent 3 nights here. The staff are friendly and helpful and were there to greet us. The site is located right in Tewkesbury and so everything is within easy walking distance - the Abbey, shops and lots of good places to eat. The site was spotless. Beautiful flowers by the reception and a good variety of pitches. Nice grass pitches, as well as HS, well spaced out. The toilets and showers are beyond spotless - they looked as though they had never been used before. Well done team! Very convenient, just off the M5, and very close to other places including Stratford. The Abbey bells do toll 24 hrs, but they didn’t keep me awake!

A great site with a really warm welcome

We had a great stat at Tewkesbury Abbey. We were greeted by the warden, Andrew who has a beaming smile and gave us the warmest welcome ever. The flower display is at the entrance is amazing and the wardens love it, which shows. A clean and convenient site to walk to town. We had no issues with pet mess although the wardens have acted on the previous posts and placed polite reminders for pet owners. There’s a great park for dog walks and a separate playground for children. 1 min from solute entrance. If you enjoy watching local cricket or Footie, check out the fixtures and you can enjoy watching a good cricket match. We didn’t see the Footie. A really great stay thank you and we will be back. Definitely one of the best sites we have stayed.

Dog Fouling!

Just had three night enjoyable stay at Tewkesbury Abbey Site. Can’t understand why their is no Dog Walk facility available? The problem being that dogs are doing their business on and around Pitches and the Site in general! Please create a Dog Friendly Zone and help stop this unsightly mess!

Weekend away

The site is well situated for walks from the site and easy to go into town too. There are a few downsides to this site however, there was a lot of noise from the cricket pitch next to the site and as in another review by a fellow member the bells whilst nice for the first few times not so nice when you are here for more than one night! The wardens are excellent and they make a real effort especially with the lovely hanging baskets. The site does have a few items for sale in the shop which is adequate except they don't have bread but then as it is close to town they probably found there was not much call for it to be fair. The only other thing we felt wasn't very nice was the fact that the pitches are quite close together compared to other sites we have been on, all this said it wouldn't stop us from returning. It is close to the M5 so it is very handy if you want to break your journey to somewhere further afield.

Great Find

We have just had a fab 3 night stay at this site. We arrived and we were told to select our pitch first, have a cuppa and then pay, what a fab idea. We spent the first day around the town looking at some of the famous alleys of which is said they have over 90, we had lunch at the Tuder Hotel, we would recommend. and also visited the Battle Fields. The second day we had a look around the Abbey before we followed one of the guided walks to Twyning along the Avon. We had the most amazing roast dinner and our son had the wood fired Pizza in the main restaurant on the terrace overlooking the Avon. If you wish to eat off the main menu I would recommend booking. We will be back again.

Lovely friendly site

We stayed for three nights in August. The staff were so friendly, we turned up on a very wet Saturday afternoon yet greeted with a smile and helpful advice. Told to pitch up and then not come to reception until the rain stopped. The site is spotless (loved the hanging baskets at reception). Our pitch was nice and peaceful considering the site was full. Easy walk into Tewkesbury and the battle trail is well worth a visit. A word of advice, there is only one motorhome grey waste drain in the middle of the site and if you time it wrong (about 11am for us) every other MH on the site who is also leaving is queued to empty before hitting the road. It's certainly not something that has put us off in anyway but just try to aim to beat the queues. 100% we will be back at some point as it's a great place to explore the Cotwolds from. Just a shame we were having too much of a nice time in Tewkesbury to actually want to go further afield. All the more reason to return :)

Love it

Absolutely wonderful reception on arrival and we were pleased to see the old team still here, such lovely and helpful wardens who do the site proud. The baskets on reception area are out of this world I think everyone has photos to share of the amazing display 10 out of ten for effort and maintaining such a display. The ambiance of this site amongst all the ones we've visited is second to none and all down to the staff.. Well done. Also hoping the new hip replacement is coming along, missed you!!! Will defiantly be back again

Always a pleasure to stay at this site .

Our second visit here did not disappoint. I was surprised at the cheek of some motor homes stopping in a nearby carpark ,coming on site to use the toilets and showers . Think security needs stepping up or a coded lock on the doors like others sites have .But all told a pleasant well kept site with friendly wardens .

Brilliant site, fantastic location

Love this site. Have visited monthly during lockdown as family live nearby. The facilities are spotlessly clean, staff are helpful and friendly. It’s location is fantastic close to town and the beautiful Abbey. Will be back again at the end of September

Very efficient arrivals procedure

Very welcoming wardens who had arrival, friendly greeting, and pitch allocation down to efficient perfection. We arrived on a very busy 'turn over' day, and there were constant arrivals, but no hold-ups nor queues - due to the great system in place. We had a hard standing pitch without awning and there was plenty of space around us, the only slight concern was how close we were to the site roads which meant other units, and pedestrians passed pretty near to the front of our unit. So, although there was plenty of space either side, we felt a little too close to others at the front. This was made worse by children whizzing by far too fast on their bikes, or bouncing their footballs. They were not badly behaved, merely doing what youngsters do. Lesson learnt: don't visit during school hols. The pitch was level and we did not need to use anything. We noticed that a significant number of people did not respect the pitch area of other's - choosing to walk across another's pitch to their unit, rather than stick to the road. Also, a significant number of people allowed their dogs to urinate on pitch areas 'belonging' to others. It's anti-social and unfriendly behaviour, but no fault of the site. Tongue in cheek, but maybe 'site etiquette' should be a compulsory training requirement prior to being accepted as a club member. The facilities were good - very clean and well kept. The cleaning does not take place until later in the day, which is good as the facilities were open all morning. The grounds too are very neat and well maintained. The floral displays around reception were wonderful. The location of the site is very easy - being close to the M5 and the only narrow bit being the final approach to the site. Tewkesbuy itself is a very easy, flat stroll from the site and has a very interesting history. There are loads of eateries, pubs, independant shops and charity shops; also a river walk and boat trips. The Abbey is also very interesting and we enjoyed sung evesong on the Sunday. The Abbey bells keep you informed of the time of day (and night). There is so much history to learn about the area, we have already booked a return trip, of longer duration, to this very neat and well-placed site.
