Easter 2017
This is a lovely site. Clean and tidy as you expect from a C & MC site, with friendly helpful wardens. Contrary to a couple of other recent reviews, we didn't encounter any hot water issues (yes, we did use the shower!)
Barnard Castle is a lovely, lively market town with some interesting shops and pubs. The Old Well Inn was our favorite; great food and dog friendly. Bowes Museum and Gardens is magnificent, and the area is full of staggeringly beautiful scenery and villages to match. Visit Middleton in Teesdale, Richmond, and Durham isn't too far.
Only slight downsides are it gets windy, especially on the upper part of the site, and there's a bit of road noise but not enough to detract from the overall quality of the site.
