Fantastic Wardens

The site itself is a lovely site, close to town. Well maintained and definitely worth a visit, Especially if you have dogs, as the dog walk is one of the best we have seen on a club site It was the wardens who made this trip special. Even before we left they contacted us to let us know the bridge in town was closed. The amount of local information was beyond anything I have ever seen before as well.. We were due to leave Saturday, but due to bad weather again told by them we booked for another day. It is a great shame this is their final year. We can only wish them well for the future.

Always a pleasant break - Well Recommended

Have just got returned home after a very pleasant time at Teesdale despite storms Ophelia and Brian trying their best to disrupt everything, Lovely Site which is well landscaped and tended ( step forward Wayne) , Gill looks after the reception reminiscent of the local friendly corner shop with a pleasant smile & chat when you go for the mornings paper or whatever problems we have , I can't believe that 2017 season is coming to an end , I cannot be the only member to ask as to why the site closes for winter ? Is it a planning issue ? Many Thanks To Gill & Wayne for just being yourselves, you will be a such a miss and really enjoy your upcoming Megga Holidays X

A Lovely Site

Just had a short stay here, will definitely return. The site and facilities were immaculate and a real credit to the hard-working Wardens.

Fantastic site

This is a really good site , nice large level pitches , great facilities especially liked the drying room , good information room and nice helpful staff . It is a great base for both visiting Barnard Castle and walking in the area and there is some great walking available within minutes of the site . We had no children with us but the play area looks really good . We had a great time and have just found our favourite site !

A treasure in the dales

A fantastic site, only surpassed by brilliant wardens. Nothing too much bother. A really nice touch was being able to order your papers for the next day. First weekend away with new Motorhome. Had a static at Amble. Spoke to more people on site over 3 days than in the last 8 years, wardens diligent and in the background but really helpful. Fish and chips twice a week on site great... no cooking,,, for me to do. Some noise from the road but little after 8 pm. Beautiful and the autumnal colours breathtaking. Facilities top class, clean and fully stocked, even at 3 a.m.; will return next year as the area has always been a favourite, even though we stayed at a rival club and in cotherstone, both before this site was opened.

A real gem

This site is just what we were looking for, only a good ten minutes walk into Barnard Castle. The site is well signed as you approach from either direction. Our wardens were a credit to the Caravan and Motorhome Club, being very welcoming and informative on our check in. The cleanliness of the whole site and its facilities is a credit to them. The hard surface pitches are all a generous size and easy to access. The dog walk area is the best we have used being a two acre field with disposal bins around its perimeter. There is a large wooded area which has plenty of footpaths to explore, although it is quite steep in places. The High Force water fall on the river Tees is well worth a visit as is the Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle. We really enjoyed our few days here and look forward to staying here again.

Great holiday

We have stayed at this site previously, each time enjoying our stay. All the facilities were spotlessly clean, the wardens being very friendly and welcoming and very understanding when we had to cancel an earlier visit on the day of departure, as the car was telling us it needed a new clutch. Ouch, very expensive, we then rebooked towards the end of September. Will certainly visit again as we enjoyed the site, town and surrounding area.

No problems here

Probably the best site I've stayed at for a whole. The beauty of Caravan Club sites is that there is generally little to complain about and standards are high. The Tuesday site is spacious, the welcome was very good, facilities were spotless, signage was good and we were allowed to pick our own pitch. This is a very quiet site in terms of noise, and is a good base for visiting Bowes Museum, Ruby Castle and of course, the town itself. Will be back!
