Very nice

I forgot to post my review after staying here recently 11th July, after just reading the review below it’s prompted me to immediately post. This is a lovely site, immaculate and the wardens were some of the friendliest. It must be a thankless task most of the time but in particular at present with people constantly complaining, I think they all do a wonderful job across the network. I’m shocked at comments below regarding urine, could it have been from a dog? We never had to queue for the brand new spotlessly clean toilet block and the site was full. The walk from the site to beach was nice, little confusing directions. We loved the quiet flat country lanes for cycling. Sutton on Sea as a village is ok but the beach is nice. Would never go back to Mablethorpe or Chapel st Leonard’s, dreadful run down old seaside towns, a shame but would go back to The Wolds area.

Nice clean site, not very welcoming to newbies.

We arrived at the site and headed into reception, the welcome wasn't very friendly and they expected us to know everything even though I explained this is only our second trip out with our new van. Anyway, after driving round a few times found a pitch we thought suitable. Set about levelling the van etc. Fitted the awning and proceeded to hammer in the pegs, it was then i noticed the overwhelming smell of urine coming from the hardstanding, I understand they don't clean the pitches but it was unpleasant, I can't fathom whey someone would urinate on the pitch, several times by the smell, when the toilets where so close. Unfortunately by the time we had got this far the park had filled up so couldn't move. Facilities are excellent and spotlessly clean, however the staff on site were really very ignorant and on 3 separate occasions saying Good Morning etc.. we where totally ignored. Seems a little bit of a snobby site, people staying on adjacent pitches where pretty rude too. Kids play park is closed even though the government lifted that ban. An eye opening experience, we hope all C&MC sites are not like this. Worlds apart from a non C&MC site we stayed at the weekend before. I doubt we will be back.

Peace & quiet. Top marks

Sad to leave the site today as it went into virus lockdown. Luckily we were there for first week of opening. Site was well presented, very tidy and clean. Toilet block was spotless. The wardens were helpful, happy and friendly and we enjoyed the odd chat at a distance. Good luck for the future and keep safe The area has some lovely quiet beaches, perfect for long dog walks. Will definitely be returning later in the year.

Amazing

Amazing beautiful facilities and amazing wardens so friendly and helpful. Best shower I have ever had. Better than shower at home so powerful and hot. I shall return again and again no doubt. Thank you

Excellent wardens

This was only our second trip with our new caravan and we had an issue with no water. We asked a warden for help after we had exhausted all our ideas. He checked to make sure we had turned everything on ok which we had. He then checked the pump going from the barrel to the caravan and found the fault. He mended it and showed us what to do in future if it happened again. Nothing was too much trouble. I could kick myself for not getting his name as he was a fantastic ambassador for the club. This site is a lovely site with some lovely beaches close by. The upgrade is excellent with a really good toilet block.

Sutton on Sea / favourite site

Sutton on Sea is one of our favourite sites at any time of year. Even before the refurbishment we enjoyed staying here, the refurbishment of the site has certainly improved the overall quality. The toilet block is far larger and the quality of finish first class. Have booked 2 more stays there for 2020.

Sutton revamp

First visit to the newly revamped site. Good toilet block, nice and wide pitches and the usual helpful wardens. Two gripes, the gate leading to the public footpath(near to play park) to Sutton has been closed off! This was a great shortcut as the road can be dangerous with locals using it as a rat run. Secondly, do not pitch close to the toilet block as the plant room makes a racket especially at 3 am! Will I come back, certainly a great site close to the sea.

Love this site

We love Sutton-on-Sea and we love the site. I have to admit that I thought I would see more of a change after it had been closed for so long. Don’t get me wrong, I have no complaints – new electricity posts must mean a safer environment and more modern washrooms are great – but I thought the landscaping may have been updated. The best bit about the new showers? The benches. It means there is plenty of room for your clothes without danger of them falling onto the floor. The site is great - it’s an easy walk to the prom and then a lovely walk into Sutton and Mablethorpe – just take a torch if it’s dark. Again, I think so much more could be done to promote the difference between the bins and so it is clear what can be recycled.

We'll Be Back !

This was our first visit to Sutton on Sea for more than 30 years, but it won't be that long before we return next time. The site is beautifully located in quiet countryside, offering excellent peace and quiet, whilst at the same time within walking distance of the beach and the amenities in the quiet town of Sutton on Sea. The site is very well looked after by the ever friendly wardens, and the recent refurbishment has been a great success as evidenced by the numbers on site during a lovely week in late September. The toilet and shower block is of the usual very high standard being set by the Club as it revamps our sites, and power, water and waste disposal are all in plentiful supply convenient to all pitches. Following refurbishment, pitches themselves are excellent in all regards, with easy access to all. One slight word of caution - chose your pitch carefully if sunshine is important to you. Some pitches, including the one we had, are in cool shade for the whole day at this time of year, so if you prefer sun and warmth, check before you choose and set up. Just two reservations to, reluctantly, highlight. On two separate occasions we had dogs off leads roaming around on to the pitch without owners in sight. How this happened is not for me to speculate, but it is not the first time we have had this on various sites recently. The Club has rules about this which most dog owners follow. However, as is often the case, the less courteous minority is in danger of creating difficulty for everyone else Second point is I'm afraid also with regard to dogs. This site does not have a dedicated dog walk, and from our pitch close to the exit, we saw many owners taking their dogs off-site for walking. Unfortunately, we were also treated to the sight of many dogs using the grassed area opposite, which houses 6 pitches, to relieve themselves. Whilst appreciating that owners cannot control exactly when their dog chooses to do this, such frequent use of that area in this way by dogs cannot be hygienic for those on those pitches, which might include children, and it does, I suspect, encourage other dogs to do likewise. I don't pretend to have the complete answer to this problem, but perhaps if dogs have to be taken off site for walking, owners might consider keeping them off grassed areas, especially near pitches, and keeping them on roadways until they reach the dog-walking area itself. Overall, however, this was a most enjoyable visit to Sutton on Sea, and I heartily recommend it. I know that we'll be back
