Just back home from a seven night stay here. There is little that I can add to the reviews posted since 12 April 2021; I would echo and endorse EVERY word in respect of tidiness, cleanliness, welcome and greeting by wardens. They are keen to learn how members are enjoying their stay and want things to be just perfect - which indeed they are for the things under their control.
10/10, full marks, for everything that they have sought to achieve. You're doing a good job and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
Members, however, continue to seem to flout some of the perfectly reasonable requests made by the Club in general.
There are some very strange interpretations of 5mph.
And some dog owners make little or no attempt to get their dogs to the appropriate place to do their business, preferring to allow them to do it on the same bit of green grass between vans every morning / afternoon. OK, they may clean up after the dog - but, wherever possible, PLEASE take the dogs out of sight (OFF SITE) before they do it. I don't want to witness it. It's unfair on the other members - and the wardens. They have far more important things to do.
These minor points aside, both of which are outside of the IMMEDIATE control of the wardens who are doing their best under difficult conditions, this is a cracking quiet little site - a little gem. Thank you for all that you do.
(P.S.
And I will be coming back to check that the fresh access gate is completed as promised! :-) )
Well, we arrived here April 12th, first day of freedom. Wardens made us very welcome and explained the covid systems in place including the new standardised rubber band toilet block procedure and hand sanitisation points, all very helpful.
As always, the site was immaculate - from the grass to the hardstanding pitches to the toilets and service points - everything was perfect.
We extended our thanks to the wardens on duty on our arrival and would like to repeat our thanks here because without their tireless efforts the club sites would not be what we have come to expect and enjoy so thank you to every staff member on site for making it happen.
Location was perfect for our visit to Skegness which we enjoyed. The site was very peaceful despite being quite busy there was a feeling of peace and calm - very nice.
Toilet block was cleaner than clean thanks mainly to staff cleaning regime and partly due to campers treating the facilities with respect. A huge thank you to all involved in keeping the loos open.
Our hardstanding pitch was level, plenty big enough for us and as usual well spaced from other campers. At no point did we feel worried about social distancing during our stay. All service points were easy to use and spotless.
Would we recommend this site? Absloutely!
First site on a 7 site tour of the East Coast just out of #Lockdown3. Lovely site, couldn't have had nicer Wardens, who said hi and asked how we were everytime we saw them. The facilities, though not completely open for obvious reasons were immaculate and we weren't worried about using them in these strange times. The new band system is sooo much better than the last. A great dog walk straight out of the site. A short flat walk to the beach and a pleasant stroll up to Sutton and beyond to the North. To the south the North Sea Observatory is well worth a visit and there is so much beach to choose from. Its great for cycling because its so flat and you can cylce on the promenade all the way to Skegness (if you really want to) and Mablethorpe in the other direction. We really enjoyed our 3 nights, and will definiately return to this small, but perfectly formed site.
We have just returned from 3 smashing days at this wonderful site. You can walk and bike in all directions. The warden team of Jon, Sandra, Andrew and Cass deserve special praise for how good the site is looking. Everything is immaculate. We will be back soon
Sorry for the lateness of this review ,things went a bit crazy. It is often said that a good team of wardens change a good site to a brilliant one. This is the case with this site . Richard, Tracy, Jon and Sandra proved to be one of the best teams on the circuit and deserved to be just that, They looked after the showers, toilets and chemical disposal points diligently and deserve a big thank you. The site is well maintained with the grass kept to a correct level , the road is swept with leaves being removed.after the winds of the east coast.
I shall not talk about Sutton or its lovely village and beach I will leave that to others but can only say that that the site and village made us feel safe and very comfortable and pleased to say we are going next year

Just returned from a three night stay. Really enjoyed our time! Lovely welcome, helpful wardens, nice size pitches and lovely clean facilities. Location is good but 30 mins to tbe beach can be challenging with three kids (but knew the location bforehand of course). The beach is lovely and the town is a small place without amusements etc so exactly what we wanted. Site itself is very clean and although have seen comments about wristband system i didnt have any issues and thought the best operating system i have seen. No issue in diswashing restrictions either. Would definitely go back!
Have been to a number of caravan club sites recently and this is a review overall not necessarily of this site. The wristband system doesn't work, this is largely due to the ignorance and stupidity of people using it. When I use the facilities to ablute, teeth, shave, shower takes me around 10 minutes, 15 max. On a number of occasions I have gone in and someone is the shower, I have done what I have done and the same person is still in the shower with the water running at the end, what are they doing?. If people are going to take, what an hour in the facilities leaving a queue outside in the cold because only 3 people are allowed in then they should be ashamed. Also on arrival at this site went to the facilities to find 3 wristbands on hooks. 4 are allowed so that was OK. Went in to find that no one else was there, just me. So these bands had just been left there despite there being NUMEROUS notices saying dont forget your wristband. I don't know what the answer is but would suggest stressing 15 minutes max in the facilities at one time. Also don't clean them at peak times, the gents here closes at 10am for cleaning, either clean earlier or later. I would also suggest face coverings to be worn when going in or out or moving about within the facilities. The best system was Poolsbrook where they had 6 people at a time could use facilities. They had 3 hooks for general use and 3 hooks toilet only use. If you just need the toilet then why should you stand outside for 30 minutes waiting for 3 people who are inside having a shower. Common sense surely. Also all your sites are doing it slightly differently. Your facilities at the sites are by and large the same so policy should be the same.surely. as said Poolsbrook had the best system so look at that and adopt it throughout. Also plot numbers on all bands please, this site just gives you a blank band all yellow, no good.
Our first visit to Sutton on Sea was a really pleasant experience. From the moment of first entering the site (ideally from the direction of the A52) the impression was of good management, tidiness and modern facilities, with security barriers and clear traffic markings. The pitches are level and well drained, and an adequate choice of "with or without" trees. The modern facilities block is centrally situated and appears of adequate size, although the current covid restrictions make it difficult to judge the peaks and troughs of demand. It can sometimes be difficult for the prospective "loo only" user if the 4 at a time limit has been reached by 4 people having lengthy showers! The wardens were all friendly, knowlegeable and efficient and seemed to be on hand all the time. It is certainly not their fault that the "blurb" for sites near the sea often understates the time to walk to the beach, or boasts that there is plenty of good local cycling, when actually to cycle on the stretch of road just outside the site you need to have nerves of steel or near suicidal tendencies. You really need to be prepared to walk the first half mile.
Having said that we cannot wait to go back again, with or without covid restrictions.
Decided to change are week away at the last minute from Northumberland to Lincolnshire and chose Sutton-on-Sea CMC site.As it was recently refurbished it was very well presented and spotless. The wardens were very friendly and as we had our 3yr old granddaughter with us they always took the time to stop and speak with her and answered all her questions which you can imagine were many and varied.
The location is situated off a single track tarmac road which is off the main road into Sutton-on-sea but if you carry on past the site it quickly brings you into the outskirts off Sutton-on-sea. There is a footpath from the site which you can take which leads to the beach and Sutton-on-sea itself which although we did not use it there was plenty that did and is approximately 30 minutes away. This path forms a good dog walk which goes all the way around the perimeter of the site and is a good walk for dogs even though it is not designated as a dog walk.
It is well placed to drive to the main resorts of Cleethorpes, Mablethorpe and Skegness, but does mean you have to drive every where.
Overall a great site and we would go again, my only criticism is only allowing 4 people into the facilities as they were grand in size and could have easily accommodated more but saying that I never had to queue.
Our stay, in mid-September 2020, was was our second visit to Sutton-on-Sea, having been here at almost the same time last year. The site was just welcoming, neat and tidy as before, with excellent, spotless facilities and friendly, helpful staff. As before, we enjoyed the attractive surroundings and meeting friendly fellow members, as well as the peace and quiet of the site's excellent location. Sutton-on-Sea is just as short walk or drive away, with all the facilities that might be required, without the busy atmosphere of the other, larger Lincolnshire coast resorts nearby. The only small disappointment, especially compared to our excellent stay last year, was the mixed weather - for which the site cannot be blamed ! We did have glorious sunshine, with a breeze in the early part of the week, but the last couple of days were particularly wet and stormy. Happily the pitch and our awning both stood up well to the very unseasonal wind and rain, and we didn't allow the weather to spoil the trip. This was another very enjoyable stay at a first class Club site and we thoroughly recommend it to all. We will most definitely be back.
