Good overnighter.

We only stayed for one night. Ideal location just of the motorway, ready to travel if you were staying or carrying on. The wardens were pleasant helpful and courteous. Now! our problem was we assume the children of other members. Toilet paper all over the place in the gents toilet block. Toilets not flushed. Cubicles without toilet paper because of it being strewn all over the place, We stayed on Sunday night 5 May 2019. We assume it was children if it was fellow members, what is the world coming to.

Great central place to stay

We stayed here over the bank holiday weekend, had great weather, the facilities are always very clean here and it is handy if you want to go to M & Ds. There is lots to so roundabout as well. There was a bit of road noise but the site is right next to the motorway but you cant have accessibility and peace and quiet. Would happily go to this site again.

2 Nights 29 April 2019

This was stop 3 on our multi-stop tour from Lincolnshire to Scotland (and back) with 2 nights here after a two and a half hour drive from Berwick Seaview. Easy to find following satnav from the A725 and a really nice welcome from Samantha, the warden in reception who was also very helpful with directions for fuel and attractions nearby. This site is quite large with very well spaced pitches. There are several cultivated areas of flower beds and shrubs which break this big site up into a comfortable feeling of privacy giving your pitch a more secluded feeling which is really nice with the surrounding trees and nearby park giving a relaxing atmosphere. Only one of the two toilet/shower blocks was open on out arrival but the site was only partially full. This site had one of the best amenity blocks I have encountered. It was large, warm and very well maintained by the wardens. As mentioned by an earlier reviewer it even had piped music which was great to hear. I did hear people singing along from the shower cubicles but I don't think that Gareth Malone would find any prodigies here. . . We took a picnic and did the three and a half mile walk around the loch which made a really nice day out. Didn't have time to visit Glasgow on this stop though. There is constant background noise from the nearby traffic which is an issue to some people. Personally I prefer quite but it depends on how you feel about the sound, horses for courses here I think. Some reviews have mentioned the noisy boy racers in the park during the evenings but on our early in the week stay we didn't really hear any of this, perhaps it's more noticeable at weekends. We tried the nearby Toby Carvery which was good value and used it again for a breakfast on our last morning. It saved on a bit if time and was a last day treat. Not sure about Yorkshire pudding and breakfast gravy in the morning though. Strange~ Summary: A lovely well laid out site with a great team of friendly and helpful wardens. Be aware that there is a constant low level of road noise though. Next stop Bunree Club Site.

Lovely but noisy!

This is a great site well situated for looking around Glasgow and Edinburgh at a fraction of what you would pay per night in a hotel in each of these cities but peaceful and tranquil it isn’t! The busy dual carriageway adjacent to the site is always humming away in the background and we had the double joy of boy racers revving their engines and giving it large through the Strathclyde park that said you could not fault the cleanliness and the facilities I love the fact the the radio is piped into the shower/toilet blocks it was lovely to have a little sing a long in the shower! The surrounding Strathclyde Park is really beautiful with roe deer roaming the area around the campsite lots for the children to do

Super, well kept site

Stayed here quite a few times, on and off season. Always get a friendly welcome, toilets and everything else always clean & well kept. Easy access to/from the M74, and everything you could need available in Hamilton, only a few minutes away. As the club point out, there is a little road noise, but this is a background drone, which we soon stopped noticing, never intrusive.

Handy for Glasgow

Excellent site very handy 5 min Taxi and 15 min train ride to Glasgow. Excellent dog walking. Due to layout of roads/ paths lots of people cutting through pitches to get to amenities. Annoying. Apart from stathclyde country park facilities not much else within short distance of interest, but perfect for Glasgow.

Superb Site

We stayed at Strathclyde Country Park site from Dec. 23rd 2018 till Jan. 4th 2019 and we had a fantastic time from the superb welcome when we arrived right through till we left. the wardens on duty ( Joe and Sarah) were superb from first minute to last minute. Including lending a hand when we had a problem with our gas. We were very kindly invited to reception on Christmas Eve for Mulled Wine and Mince Pies and again on New Years Eve for a glass of Wine and Nibbles. Very thoughtful and very kind. The facilities were spotlessly clean and warm, showers nice and hot. The only disappointment was the Boy Racers on the road outside the site, but nothing the club can do to stop that. All in All a great time was had by all, and for us it's less than an hour from home and only a few hundred yards from Junction 5 on the M74.

VERY DISSAPPOINTED

Having checked the Clubs Late Availability and found over 60 pitches free we were most unhappy to be told that half of the site was out of bounds. This has happened on several previous occasions and we have had a variety of different explanations why this is the case. One of the great attractions to us, and to many others, of off season caravanning is to have the ability to pitch with a bit of space around the pitch . At Strathclyde Park there is no reason to close part of the site, all pitches are hard standing, the power and water are on, indeed we saw the warden cleaning the service point within the closed area. If the Club intends to persue this policy it would be only be reasonable to amend the Late Availabilty figures accordingly. i.e instead of 60 pitches the true number is 12. To do otherwise is dishonest.

End of season break

Extremely easy to locate, brilliant for all activities o n the loch which is 400 yards away and safe for children to cycle around. I have been a member for 27 years and reviewed many sites and the club staff, however, I must say that this is possibly one of the best sites for location, professionalism of staff, cleanliness and site maintenance. The warden who I spoke with Yvonee Lee was enthusiastic knowledgeable about the area and sites to visit, and in my view one of the most professional staff members that I have come across, she, her colleagues and the site should be the template for all staff to be trained to their level.
