Great Stop off on M74

We stopped off on our way north and again on returning south. Very convenient to the M74 and to a number of places of local interest. Also there is the lake in the park with its Roman bathhouse remains. But beaware of the constant buzz from the M74 and A735 which cross by the site!

Great Site and Great Wardens

The best wardens I have come across in all the years I have been using CMC, I had a breakdown with my motorhome whilst here and they couldn't do enough for us. Helping us find a garage and rearranging our bookings with other sites they couldn't have been more helpful. The site is great and facilities were always kept immaculate

Great M74 stop over and longer stays

This site has matured well since it was open. Spacious pitches, wildlife, roe deer, squirrels buzzards all possible. A lot of effort in making the site welcoming. Very clean facilities. Once you get accustomed to the traffic noise, all is well. The TV screens out the buzz of the traffic. The tall trees help too. Toby carvery within walking distance.

Great site for an overnight stop going north

Travelling north, in June 2019, from the Manchester area, this was a great choice for a break in the journey to Inverness. Yes there was some background traffic noise. But this is offset by the location close to the motorway, the quality of the site, the staff and facilities, and the surrounding area. The nearby country park is good to walk in. By the way it's a long long walk all the way around the lake. I think another reviewer, suggesting ear plugs, must have been unlucky and picked a bad time to stay. There were no issues like that when we stayed there. We are booked to stay another night on the way back. Highly recommended

Bring EARPLUGS - This is NOT a joke!

Yes everything on the site is very good as countless reviews have testified, BUT having endured three disturbed nights my advice is PACK EARPLUGS. Its not just the fact that you are adjacent to the M74 and the A725 which are buzzing 24 hours a day - the site itself is at the entrance to Strathclyde Country Park which boasts a Large Fun Fair and it's this that attracts the boy racers with noisy exhausts and countless motorbikes - the speed limit in the park is 15MPH but of course at night it's not enforced - think Brands Hatch until at least 2am. Soundproofing in caravans & motorhomes is not great, however I really feel for those under canvas. The Handbook refers to noise suggesting that this is due to the M74 etc but in truth it's the racket from the boy racers that is the blight on this well run site. The Club should exert it's influence here on Police Scotland to try to solve this.

The most pristine site

This is my second visit to this site and, once again, it has impressed me as the most pristine site I have stayed on. It is immaculate! The site, toilet block, walkways; even the pitches are pristine and weed free. On top of that the staff on both occasions have been friendly, patient and helpful. Well done to the whole team!

Nice site, easy to access.

Stayed here for a few nights on the way up to Bunree. Weather glorious so had plenty of time to enjoy the nearby lake which was ten minutes walk from the site and was accessible the whole way round and took us around 2.5 hours. Mobility scooter coped well with the well made pathway. Ice creams and cafe at strategic points made for a very nice afternoon out. The theme park is right next door which I presume is good for kids but we didn’t venture near it and we certainly didn’t hear any noise from it whilst on site. We visited the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies. Easy trip, not too far. Also had a lovely drive up to Callander. Well kept site, open and flat.

Excellent location and a great site

Just spent 4 nights here on our way to the highlands. Lovely maintained site, well kept grounds and facilities. Seems quite large at first but all units well spaced apart and pitches are all of a very good size. Plenty to do in the area. The country park is great to wonder around. Will definitely stay here again

Excellent location and so much to do close by

Very convenient for travelling into Scotland as so close to the M74, but this doesn't mean a disturbed night. Country Park has so much to offer. God eating close by and handy for Glasgow.
