Great site

Loved this site. Everything was great, location next to the beach actually within Stonehaven, could walk to all facillities in Stonehaven, only 15 minutes from Aberdeen. Hard standing pitches excellent, roads within site excellent, toilet and shower facilities excellent. Overall fantastic site will definitely be back.

Fabulous seaside site

This was the best site we have stayed on so far.  We got a warm and friendly welcome on arrival and some tips as we declared ourselves newbies.  The site is only two years old and the wardens worked hard to maintain the immaculate facilities.  The hot modern shower and toilet block received our teenagers' highest rating so far!  The heated Lido next door is well worth a visit; it is quieter for swimming lengths in the morning with inflatables etc available in the afternoon.  It's worth knowing that the ticket is for the day so you can swim in the morning and return in the afternoon.  The Lido cafe is good value with freshly cooked fare.  We enjoyed exploring Stonehaven itself which is just a short walk along the front, with plenty of shops and boutiques.   There are nice pubs at the harbour and we visited the famous Aunty Betty's ice cream shop with the youngest.  Dunottar Castle is 2 miles south of Stonehaven and well worth visiting to see its stunning location.  Thank you for a great stay.

Excellent Position on the Sea Shore

As you would expect from a site that's only 2 years old, everything here is in tip top condition. The wardens are very helpful and friendly. For those with families, there is a playground on site, the beach is only 50 yards from the gate, there's a heated swimming pool right next door and a fitness centre just around the corner, more than enough to keep the kids happy. No dog walk on site, but the beach is so close it doesn't matter. Only a 5 minute walk into town either along the prom or on the beach and if you need more exercise, further afield you can walk to Dunnottar Castle just 2 miles along the cliff path. For golfers, there's a course just along the road which welcomes visitors. For serious shopping, Aberdeen is just up the road with regular buses running from just outside the site. There is so much to see and do in this area that another visit is a must to catch up with some of it.  We'll definitely be back.

The Sea & Rocks of the East Coast

Our visit to this amazing site was in May. With the sea just outside the gate the big decision is whether to walk along the beach into town or go along the prom!!  Actually you can't quite make it all the way along the beach you have to come up to the promenade to cross the stream/river.  It's an easy walk around the bay to the harbour and then back via the town or just stroll back along the beach.  A visit to Dunnottar Castle is a must, the views back to Stonehaven are stunning too.  The castle is a bit up and down so wear good shoes, there is a good car park there too.  This site is one of the best and the very helpful wardens keep it that way.  Wifi works well and so does the Satellite for TV, Seagulls are the only real noise but maybe in the summer months you might get noise from the swimming pool!

Great

What a wonderful site. Easily the best we've stayed at. Richard and Maggie were perfect hosts and everything was spotlessly clean. Definitely return.

Seaside Haven

As you would expect from a newish site the facilities are good and very well kept. The wardens were pleasant and helpful. Stonehaven has enough to keep you busy but Aberdeen is only 15-20 minutes away and Banchory is a pleasant distraction as well. Don't miss out on the chip shop or the Ice Cream shop just Yards from the site entrance.

Brilliant

Lovely site with plenty to do nearby. Site wardens very helpful as my water connection was too short and they went and got me their own water hose to connect to my existing one. Got one the next day and returned theirs. Site is spotless with well kept grass, and pitches all very well looked after. Toilet block is the cleanest I've been in at CC sites. Spectacular site in a beautiful location with open air swimming pool next door. Only 15 minutes to Aberdeen by car or train for the women shopping. Bus stop is 2 minute walk with regular service to most places. Fish and chip shop is just 5 minutes from the site. Thanks to Maggie and Richard for the friendly welcome and service and for sure we'll be back.

One of the Best

This site is one of the best I have been to. Located right on the beach excellent for walking the dog along the promenade right through to the harbour. The Bay fish and chip shop and ice cream parlour next door is a must despite the 30 minute queues. Town centre only five minutes walk away. Did not manage a visit to Dunnotter Castle as it was raining at the time. Excellent site Maggie and Richard do a sterling job. I'm booked in again in July hopefully for the Highland Games, highly recomended. Peace and quiet would have had five stars but the sheep on the farm nearby kept the wife awake at night only a minor irritation did not bother me.

Excellent Site

We have just returned from a superb few days on this first class site.  Everything perfect on site and so close to the shops and view over the sea.  We would thoroughly recommend this site and we will be back just a soon as we can manage.
