Stayed on Thursday 11th May for two nights. Site nicely situated for town centre and walks. When we arrived warden said you have booked a pitch with no awning to which I said correct as we don't have an awning so you are advised to book a pitch accordingly. I wanted a hardstanding pitch and that is what I got. She said you should have booked a pitch with an awning which I thought was strange. Early Saturday morning 02.30 awoken by rowdy youths playing loud music this continued until about 05.00 am. They were walking past perimeter of fence and I believe settled themselves down in a children's play area by the river. Spoke to the warden next morning and she was also woken by them. I got the impression that it is not unusual at weekends. I reported disturbance to the police shame that it has never been reported before by site staff. Wouldn't stay again at a weekend.
Our favourite site.
We have recently returned from 7 days at the Steamer Quay club site at Totnes. We always get a good reception from the wardens who are so helpful and friendly. The town with its individual shops and eating houses is just a few minutes walk. The river boat to Dartmouth is a must. We love the site as it is relaxing and peaceful. The site is always smart and tidy with lovely flowers at reception. The toilets and showers are old but always spotlessly clean. We have been to this site many times. Motorhome no 26.

Fantastic Easter Break
Stayed at this site with our motorhome, excellent clean site - easy walking distance into the town with loads of pubs and restaurants and varied shopping - big supermarket within walking distance which is a bonus. We were worried about having no electricity but this was not a problem at all.
Showers are a bit dated but very very clean. Will return next Easter as we had a lovely time. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere on site.

Perfect weekend getaway
Came to celebrate my 50th birthday, Great real ale and food in a wonderfull town minutes walk from site, lovely river walking to clear head and great wardens who go the extra mile and gave the best welcome ever received. Must be on everyones list to visit. Ideal site for motorhomers as all transport is just a wee walk away!
Easter break.
We enjoyed once again a visit to this site that is always kept clean and tidy, helpful and welcoming wardens. We enjoyed a trip by boat to Dartmouth where had our Sunday lunch, easy walk to Dartington and Totnes steam railway where we sampled scones and cream on more than one occasion. Close to Plymouth and only one gripe where on returning to the site at about 6.30pm with a large motorhome is that one of the gates had been closed causing traffic behind us to dangerously overtake on the sharp bend when approaching the gates, the confusion to other drivers could of been avoided because we arrived back before 8pm and that was the time stated when the gates would be closed.
Always a joy
Only an hour's drive from home. Ideal for a few days chill out, Now that we have covered the river trips, South Devon Railway, river and town walks. A unique and friendly retreat.

Fabulous site.
We only live locally but we come to steamer at least 3 times a season. It's a little gem. The facilities and site are spotless. The wardens are friendly and the position of the site is great. The car is not needed as the bus & train links are good. Totnes is a really friendly town. The pubs are good & there are a great selection of individual shops. We have walked to Dartington along the river & also to Tuckenhay( more challenging) but a lovely walk with spectacular views. A trip on the river to Dartmouth is a must. We will be back again in July & August.
Outstanding welcome
This site is a real gem. Not only a really convenient location but somewhere you feel genuinely welcome. The wardens were lovely. Smiles and good humour all through our four day stay - despite some pitches being rather waterlogged. Master class in how to get off wet grass using mats! Never too busy to talk to you properly and help out with any questions.
One of the friendliest sites we've stayed on. We will definitely be going back.
A nice suprise
We came to Steamer Quay for 1 night and stayed 4. An excellent little site in a super location right by the river Avon and the town of Totnes, run by two super helpful wardens.
