Last Minute Weekend Away

Weather was good so hit the road late Friday afternoon and ended up in Totnes, nothing booked but chanced our luck and what a result. A little paradise in Totnes is the way to describe Steamer Quays. Excellent owners, great location, spotless facilities can fault nothing! Many places to eat in town only a 5 min walk, Morrisons same distance, we were lucky with weather and was able to chill in this quiet spot in the town next to the river. Personally I don't think I would take the children here (Didn't see any children on site) so perfect for a child free weekend away. We will be back!!!

Fabulous Site

Arrived over the Easter weekend to avery warm and friendly welcome from Gary and Helen ,ground was very soggy after having lots of rain but no trouble to Gary and Helen who helped us on to our pitch with their trusty mats ,being newbies to motorhoming we were given plenty of friendly adivce which was very much appreciated .A very short walk over the bridge leads into Totnes which is a lovely town with lots of dog friendly watering holes ! .The site its self is very well maintained and shower and washing up facilities spotless ,we will definately be back .

Great location

Really friendly welcome by the wardens who do a great job of making the site attractive and welcoming. The location is perfect with the town just a few hundred yards away. The toilet and shower block are out of the ark compared to other Club sites but they are very clean and functional. It would be great if the Club could get a longer lease on the site then it would be worth their while improving the facilities. No hook up not a problem even though we have a drop down electric bed.The solar panel on our motorhome roof did a great job. Would recommend this site to anyone and we will definitely be back.

A little gem

Great little site, practically in Totnes. The only real noise we encountered was early one morning when council workmen were strimming the verges on the road outside the site. Apparently they do it every few weeks, so we were just unlucky there. Otherwise, for such an urban site, it was very peaceful. No electric hook up, unfortunately, but a well charged leisure battery lasted us three nights (no TV in our van!). I understand they offer a charging facility for leisure batteries. Plenty to see and do in Totnes for a couple of days, so quite a relaxing stay on our way to Cornwall. The site wardens were very nice and very helpful. I would stay here again, without hesitation, if I was down this way.

Never fails to please

We have just come back from a 10 night stay at this lovely site. We have visited many times over the years and we always love it. No, it doesn't have electric hook ups and yes the toilets/showers could do with updating but everything about this site is lovely. Beautifully kept with pots of herbs dotted around for you to help yourself and within a few minutes walk of the town. We have never had an issue with rowdy youths but perhaps we're heavy sleepers. Would highly recommend this site

Rowdy local youths

Stayed on Thursday 11th May for two nights. Site nicely situated for town centre and walks. When we arrived warden said you have booked a pitch with no awning to which I said correct as we don't have an awning so you are advised to book a pitch accordingly. I wanted a hardstanding pitch and that is what I got. She said you should have booked a pitch with an awning which I thought was strange. Early Saturday morning 02.30 awoken by rowdy youths playing loud music this continued until about 05.00 am. They were walking past perimeter of fence and I believe settled themselves down in a children's play area by the river. Spoke to the warden next morning and she was also woken by them. I got the impression that it is not unusual at weekends. I reported disturbance to the police shame that it has never been reported before by site staff. Wouldn't stay again at a weekend.

Our favourite site.

We have recently returned from 7 days at the Steamer Quay club site at Totnes. We always get a good reception from the wardens who are so helpful and friendly. The town with its individual shops and eating houses is just a few minutes walk. The river boat to Dartmouth is a must. We love the site as it is relaxing and peaceful. The site is always smart and tidy with lovely flowers at reception. The toilets and showers are old but always spotlessly clean. We have been to this site many times. Motorhome no 26.

Fantastic Easter Break

Stayed at this site with our motorhome, excellent clean site - easy walking distance into the town with loads of pubs and restaurants and varied shopping - big supermarket within walking distance which is a bonus. We were worried about having no electricity but this was not a problem at all. Showers are a bit dated but very very clean. Will return next Easter as we had a lovely time. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere on site.

Easter break.

We enjoyed once again a visit to this site that is always kept clean and tidy, helpful and welcoming wardens. We enjoyed a trip by boat to Dartmouth where had our Sunday lunch, easy walk to Dartington and Totnes steam railway where we sampled scones and cream on more than one occasion. Close to Plymouth and only one gripe where on returning to the site at about 6.30pm with a large motorhome is that one of the gates had been closed causing traffic behind us to dangerously overtake on the sharp bend when approaching the gates, the confusion to other drivers could of been avoided because we arrived back before 8pm and that was the time stated when the gates would be closed.
