New wardens have something to live up to!

Another visit to this wonderful site. There isn't a toilet block which is why I have marked it down for families. That though is one of the attractions for us. It's such a peaceful site, surrounded by woodland and lots of walking and cycling tracks to enjoy. How lovely it is at night to lay in bed listening to owls. Stamford and other lovely towns are short drives away so plenty to see and do when Fineshade activities don't beckon. Sorry to learn that the wardens here for the last few years are moving on.They have been absolutely fantastic. So friendly, helpful and cheery and go that extra mile to ensure we all enjoy our stay. If the new wardens are reading this you have a hard act to follow??

Beautiful woodland site

We have stayed at this site every year for around 13 years and it is a lovely site. There are no facilities so not sure how families manage but they seem too. Last week it was full, in September so that speaks for itself. Some of the grass pitches were in a poor condition at this end of the season and will need some serious work if they are to recover over the winter. Good dog walks. Woodland walks and cycle tracks are right there alongside the site along with public toilets and a great cafe.  We have moved south now to Somerset so this will no longer be our local site and I will miss it.

First class

Been to this site several times over last couple years, always found a pleasant welcome when we arrive. As they say Stamford within easy reach, and always something seems to be on there, would highly recommend fineshade.

Two night stay

Lovely, quiet peaceful site. Clean & tidy with helpful wardens. Ideal area for walking & cycling. Stamford a short distance away & well worth a visit. Only down side to the site for us was poor tv reception. Other than that would highly recommend.

Good

A lovely quiet site, tidy and clean. A well stocked shop at reception. Caravans rather close together some too close for safety. Tight to reverse onto grass pitches as off a small gravel road. Some pitches where close to tree trunks and under trees. I thought they were using every available space as its a busy site. If you get a good sunny pitch..good..if busy and pushed to the shade under trees, I would be upset. Luck of the draw! Would I go again possibly as its a lovely area to visit, maybe choose a CL instead.

first class run site

This site is fantastic, the wardens keep it in good condition , and are most helpful . We extended our stay because we enjoyed it so much. One thing that spoils this site is the condition of the road from the main road to the site. it is in a very bad condition and it has been like this the last 10 years. the first time i visited the site in 2008 the bottom of my car was damaged and my jockey wheel was bent because part of the road was lower on one side and was collapsing . very little has been done to improve it and it is still in a very bad state of repair. It is a pity that this road has not been repaired as the wardens do such a good job maintaining the site in first class order but is let down by this bad road leading to the site.

Brilliant!!

We've just spent the weekend here at Stamford, wasn't sure what to expect as no showers/toilets etc BUT who needs them ? There in the caravan any way !!  Beautiful location, spotless site the wardens were very friendly my little girl took a shine to Peter and he was very  patience with her as she's only 4. Very close to the woods for walks woodland play park next door but very quite overall an outstanding weekend in fact we enjoyed it so much we've booked for October so looking forward to going back.

A great break

We had a great break , very peaceful, clean and tidy. The wardens have been here for a while which gives them a wealth of knowledge on the local area. They are amongst the best wardens we've come across on a club site. This site doesn't have a toilet block which may not appeal to families, but we always use our own facilities so not a problem. The hard standings are great with plenty of room , also being weed free and the grass between the pitches is well kept. The woodland that surrounds the site is great for cycling and walking your dog. When you return you can have a cuppa and a peace of cake at the cafe which was delicous. We had a great time and booked another visit before we left, great work .... keep it up.
