Very nice but a couple of comments

Very nice site and a great location but have a couple of comments. Agree with recent comment that Service Pitch 109 (and to some degree 108) are best avoided due the installation of a new footpath to the Toilet Block. Members now walk right across these pitches to access the footpath. Also the electrical cable and water hose arrangement for pitch 109 creates a slips, trips and fall hazard. (One of the biggest causes of accidents and claims.) Suggest pitch 109 is given its own electric hook and water point with the footpath being fenced off upto the front of the grass area between the two pitches. Ideally consideration should be given to taking Pitch 109 out of service until it his is done. The other comments is the large number of dogs on site and the way their owners use it as one big dog walk. The number of brown patches in the grass is evidence of this, Barking can be problem early morning and late at night when the rest of the site is quiet. Other the above Southport may not be as grand as in years gone by but it is still worth a visit. It is generally level for walking. Westminster Tea Rooms and the Fishermans Rest are worth a visit for food and refreshments.

Usual Club high standards

This is the second time we have stayed here. The managers were extremely helpful and informative, the site was immaculately kept but nothing could be done about the noise that came from motorcycles and high powered cars that seemed to use the roads around the site as a race track. We are also very much concerned with the proliferation of those nasty Satanic speed humps that the Club seems determined to put in all Club sites, even at 5 m.p.h. the caravan hops over these bumps, it is almost Immpossible to go over them with a caravan on comfortably. A ramp up to the same height with a flat about a metre long at the top and a ramp down the other side would do the job and be much kinder to the caravan. I am sure the Club members who use the sites regularly will agree with me. PLEASE,PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE listen to us.

Excellent location

Just returned home after two weeks on a serviced pitch at Southport. As others have said it is well located within easy walking distance to town centre, the sea front and adjacent to Victoria Park. Site staff friendly and helpful, facilities kept clean. As someone mentioned earlier there was only one entrance to the toilet block in the new area of the site but staff have now opened up a new pathway at the opposite end, this will, in my opinion make serviced pitch no109, a not very desirable pitch. We were opposite this area and in the very short time the path was opened, pitch 109 became a major through way for pedestrian traffic. Certainly no way I would consider pitching there. Southport is a member only site and I was very surprised, to say the least, to see one person come up with his obviously full toilet cassette to the fresh water point on an unoccupied serviced pitch and start to unscrew the cap ready to empty the cassette. Both myself and the occupant of the next caravan stopped him but I really wonder about the conduct of some members, surely he must have known this wasn't acceptable. Lovely site though, will definitely return ( but not to pitch 109)

Great site

Stayed here last weekend for 3 nights. We found the wardens exceptionally helpful and friendly. The site is spotlessly clean and well maintained. The toilet and shower blocks are immaculate. The pitches are a great size and you don't feel too close to your neighbours. It's location is perfect for a stroll into town, either along the beach or through the nearby park. We found many doggie friendly bars and eateries in town. some of the town is a little run dos, but this would not put us off visiting again, perhaps for New Year. Thank you for a great visit. Return Vosot

This was our 4th visit to Southport and in spite of wet weather we had another very enjoyable stay. As you would hope and expect toilet blocks are very clean, and the surrounds of the whole site well kept. Thank you to the very helpful lady warden who was able to assist with our next visit which takes in the Southport Flower Show. The close proximity of the park and ride and closeness of the railway station is a great asset, a visit to Liverpool on the train is a must for the wet days.

Had a great visit

Stayed for 6 nights in June with our daughter and granddaughter. Facilities are as expected from a caravan club site, and we were pleasantly surprised how close to the park and town the site was. We had a serviced pitch so that trips to the park playground meant that our granddaughter didn't miss a playground. Also whilst there the miniature train club had an open weekend so we had a lovely couple of tours of the track. The wardens were always cheerful and very informative. Only one negative and that is only access to the toilet block from one side, but I understand that is being remedied. Hopefully we will return again soon.

EXCELLENT WARDENS

We are just home from our 2nd visit to Southport Caravan Club Site this year. The wardens were lovely and nothing was a problem. Colin and Denise are a real asset to the site and were always there with any information and help required. We had the unfortunate problem of having damage caused to our awning whilst there due to the gales and bad weather, Colin helped us dispose of the parts we couldn't get back home again! Denise is excellent in the office and nothing a problem with changing our booking due to the bad weather. Southport site is an excellent location only a short walk into Lord Street and right on the front for lovely walks down the Prom. We will be back to see you again in October for our 3rd visit this year. Due to family living in Southport we have been using this site for 6 years now and I can safely say these wardens are the BEST! Keep up the great work folks.

Southport moves

Been here many times, wardens have now changed and the site is far better for it. Easy check in and wardens a,ways friendly with the kids. Easy access to southport town centr and attractions, liverpool on train from brikdale recommended. Great spot for sampling the food festival also. Apart from the regular speeding cars on site, mega break.

Southport Again!!

I've lost count of the times we have stayed at the Southport site. The wardens were very helpful and the toilets/showers were kept to a very high standards, the site itself is kept lovely. Every evening was spoilt with the noise from cars and motorbikes racing. Now apart from a great day spent in Liverpool I felt that most of Southport was looking really worn out and scruffy. Lord Street which used to be very grand is looking awful with lots of shops now closed and many looking tatty. We even encountered beggars on Lord Street in the middle of the day. Whilst we were there the attractions were all shut apart from the pier. So I doubt we will be visiting this site again in the near future.

A bit too frentetic for us!

We had a brief stay last weekend. The site is large and very busy. On arrival there were several other members checking in and so outside, people were struggling to manoeuvre around other vehicles. Inside the lady at reception was struggling to process people as quickly as she could. We circled the site and struggled to find any pitch but eventually got onto pitch 168. This was close to other members and certainly did not encourage us to sit out, very much a car park feeling to our area of the site. However, Southport is very close by, just a walk though the park to a very beautiful and well maintained sea front and town. Because the sea doesn't come in, the town makes extra effort to entertain everyone with a lovely boating lagoon, the usual fairground, crazy golf, peer, live music on the front and an abundance of eating and drinking. The town is high Victorian and obviously cared for. An impressive seaside town to visit. Just a final thought, just up the road is a competitors site which even though it is not to the standard of the caravan club does charge £10 per night. This really does make our club prices seem very expensive.
