February Half Term Holiday

This was our first visit to this site, on our arrival we were greeted by a very friendly site warden, the site was in the perfect position to Southport and was just over the road from the sand dunes, which was great for walking the dog. The toilet block was immaculate and the site was very clean. We loved it so much that we have booked another week at Easter.

First time in Southport

This was our first visit to Southport, not too keen on seaside towns so we didn't know what to expect, we had a lovely weekend, the site has a nice feel to it with friendly wardens, the beach was ideal for us as our dog isn't keen on other dogs running up to her, no problem on the beach near the pier we walked for miles to the sea, our dog had a lovely time without being harrassed by other dogs. Southport town is interesting with lots of eateries, we have already booked for another visit to the site in May.

Very good experience.

Typical Club site. Clean, well laid out with modern washing, showering etc. facilities. Easy walk into town or take the bus from the nearby park and ride. Please note that you will need to buy a ticket from the car park attendant, £2 covers one car load for return trip, drops you on Lord Street. Lots of eating places in the town centre. Take the bus or train into Liverpool loads to see and do, museums, shops Beetles stuff etc.. Visit Formby beach and walk in the dunes. Altogether a great area for a break.

A Grate (sic) Site

We spent an enjoyable weekend at the Club's Southport site where the staff were very friendly and approachable and the site itself very well maintained. It is within easy walking distance of the Southport leisure and shopping attractions so very convenient.

The only criticism as one of the growing number of motorhome users is the grey water facilities at the service point. The current sheet metal manhole covers that need to be wrestled out of place when the motorhome is above them really need to be replaced with metal grills for ease of use and to avoid physical strain

Good clean site, close to Southport attractions

We booked a non awning electrical pitch for a one night stay. The site is in a good location to access the beach, and the main attractions of Southport. The welcome was polite and friendly, and the site well maintained with excellent shower/toilet facilities. It is not a site with other additional amenities (e.g no park etc), so if you are looking for a site with lots to do on it, this is not for you. However as a base for Southport it is perfect.

Lovely week in January

Lovely site and within walking distance of the town centre. Prefer the old part of the site, as more sheltered and quieter. Don’t arrived before 12 on Sunday, as lots of Caravans that have stayed for the weekend leave later in the afternnoon and you will have more pitch choice. Only fifteen caravan on site Sunday to Fraiday morning and then full for the next two nights.

White or blue??

Arrived Friday pm later than we usually would due to work commitments but still daylight and we were greeted by a warm welcome in reception. We had and always do book an awning pitch, not always with the view to putting an awning up but the choice is there should we choose and also the pitches are bigger. To be told that we had booked a non awning pitch left me dismayed as we hadn't but it came to light that there was 3 awning pitches out of action - had that been explained and our later arrival meant we had lucked out, I wouldn't have minded but to be told we had booked something we hadn't and had proof, a little unprofessional. The warden told me to choose a 'white peg' and she would just bump someone else off who was only stopping one night. In the end, we chose a non awning pitch as the empty ones were better positioned on the site than the odd white peg one we found. We reported back to the warden our choice of pitch and all was good in the end. If there has been a mix up or a maintenance issue, totally acceptable and explainable, making us out to be wrong isn't!! All that being said, wardens are very friendly, site clean as always with great facilities. We cannot fault this site apart from it's peak time prices so winter breaks here are just the ticket. It is always busy so booking early is advisable although when the newer part of the site is opened up again for the main season, I would say that would alleviate pitch availability.
