Great location

Nice site, worth having bikes for making the most of the local cycle routes and getting to/from toilet block if you’re down the thin wedge end of the site. Kids loved how near splash world we were and 10 mins from the centre on foot. Lots to do without driving anywhere even in March. Morrison’s nearby is handy too. Friendly staff at the campsite.

Loveley break but some members should have gone to Specsavers

As usual the Wardens & site were very good for a short break after the wet winter period. Weather very cold but sunny and gave us time to test the van after a winter lay-up. Satellite reception OK, but did not try aerial reception. Site was full for the weekend, although newer end of site not open. Nice walk to Ainsdale & then back through the golf courses to Birkdale. Visited Southport but this seems to be going the way of many towns, with lots of empty shops. Lord street not what it used to be. Had a very good meal at The Fishermans Rest (5 mins walk from site) which has a good menu & daily specials. Also a selection of Real ales which were in good condition. The big disappointment was that quite a few members obviously cannot read speed signs and merrily treat the roads as an extension of the main highways, not great when children playing. However the parents who let unsupervised very young children ride bikes against the flow of traffic, astound me. Apart from the gripe, a very enjoyable short break.

February Half Term Holiday

This was our first visit to this site, on our arrival we were greeted by a very friendly site warden, the site was in the perfect position to Southport and was just over the road from the sand dunes, which was great for walking the dog. The toilet block was immaculate and the site was very clean. We loved it so much that we have booked another week at Easter.

First time in Southport

This was our first visit to Southport, not too keen on seaside towns so we didn't know what to expect, we had a lovely weekend, the site has a nice feel to it with friendly wardens, the beach was ideal for us as our dog isn't keen on other dogs running up to her, no problem on the beach near the pier we walked for miles to the sea, our dog had a lovely time without being harrassed by other dogs. Southport town is interesting with lots of eateries, we have already booked for another visit to the site in May.

Very good experience.

Typical Club site. Clean, well laid out with modern washing, showering etc. facilities. Easy walk into town or take the bus from the nearby park and ride. Please note that you will need to buy a ticket from the car park attendant, £2 covers one car load for return trip, drops you on Lord Street. Lots of eating places in the town centre. Take the bus or train into Liverpool loads to see and do, museums, shops Beetles stuff etc.. Visit Formby beach and walk in the dunes. Altogether a great area for a break.

A Grate (sic) Site

We spent an enjoyable weekend at the Club's Southport site where the staff were very friendly and approachable and the site itself very well maintained. It is within easy walking distance of the Southport leisure and shopping attractions so very convenient.

The only criticism as one of the growing number of motorhome users is the grey water facilities at the service point. The current sheet metal manhole covers that need to be wrestled out of place when the motorhome is above them really need to be replaced with metal grills for ease of use and to avoid physical strain

Good clean site, close to Southport attractions

We booked a non awning electrical pitch for a one night stay. The site is in a good location to access the beach, and the main attractions of Southport. The welcome was polite and friendly, and the site well maintained with excellent shower/toilet facilities. It is not a site with other additional amenities (e.g no park etc), so if you are looking for a site with lots to do on it, this is not for you. However as a base for Southport it is perfect.

Lovely week in January

Lovely site and within walking distance of the town centre. Prefer the old part of the site, as more sheltered and quieter. Don’t arrived before 12 on Sunday, as lots of Caravans that have stayed for the weekend leave later in the afternnoon and you will have more pitch choice. Only fifteen caravan on site Sunday to Fraiday morning and then full for the next two nights.
