Family friendly

Very busy site, we were lucky to get a nice pitch in the sun, two toilet blocks which were usual clean standard. No play park on site but a very nice area through a gate although not suitable for young children to attend themselves. Very good location, a 10 minute walk into the centre through a lovely park. Situated at the edge of Southport it was reasonably quiet although there was a busy road around it which was noisy at times with emergency vehicles and cars/motorbikes speeding along the beach road. Well kept, would recommend.

Our second trip to Southport this year

Lovely site and friendly wardens. Very clean showers and lots of hot water. We loved coming here because of the short walk into town but at the moment Victoria Park is closed for ONE WEEK because of an event taking place and if we had known about the event we would have booked another week. Also no Fireworks display this year in Victoria Park, so will definitely check events in November before booking next year.

Lovely few days but some concerns about the dunes opposite

We love this site, it’s so handy for the park, walk into Southport beside the lake or through the Queen’s Jubilee Nature reserve opposite. Wardens are friendly and unobtrusive, just what we want from a site, toilets clean and warm, which as appreciated in the cold temperatures we had on our stay. Nothing to do with the site itself but my only concern was with the nature reserve opposite. We usually walk the dog over there before tea time but yesterday noticed 6/7 cars parked up, all with lone men drivers. Then came across 2 men as we walked through the reserve who quickly turned round and left the reserve as the spotted us. It was a little unsettling and I think members should be made aware that the area seems to be a meeting place for a group of people looking for ‘company’.

Great site

First time here and didn't want to leave. So close to everything, lovely clean, warm shower and toilet block. Was half term and plenty of children on site but still very quiet. Park with play area at one side, sand dunes to the other. Don't understand the complaint about the wardens, they were friendly and just let you get on with your holiday - not constantly marching round like on other CMC sites! Lots of rabbits visit after nightfall, lovely! Can't wait to return

Great site, Location and friendly wardens. Just really windy!

Visited mid October'18 for 2 nights. Would have preferred longer as there's lots to do in the area. Easy walk to park & ride where you can pay £2 per party for a return shuttle bus to the centre of Southport. We took the train to Liverpool for a day out which was very enjoyable. Site was large and spacious (to right of entry barrier) as opposed to the original part of the site (left of barrier) however, it was open to the elements with our second night seeing very strong winds. (Neighbour out at midnight hammering awning pegs back in) Warden was very helpful and friendly. Easy walk over the sand dunes to the beach or the other direction to a lovely park with children's play area. A Morrisons supermarket and fuel is very close by. I would visit this site again.

great site, bad attitude from wardens.

this is a great well positioned site and we visit numerous times a year. I'm unsure why but we always encounter an 'attitude' from the wardens. 2 in particular which are a couple. they have a chip on their shoulder and act like they are doing you a favour if you ask for anything. toilets are not kept on top of when it is busy and can be dirty. the site is great but our experience is somewhat dampened by 2 particular wardens.

Well positioned, great for the summer

We stayed here for ease of access to Liverpool. Birkdale Railway Station is well within most peoples walking range and it's only 35 minutes into the heart of Liverpool. We also (rather lazily) used the nearby park and ride to go into Southport itself. We were out of season, so it's difficult to judge how many attractions there would be in the height of summer. But what it did mean was the site was quiet. As for the facilities, top class and the wardens were absolutely great. Lots of local food outlets although we ate before coming back from Liverpool. On the down side, having previously stayed in some sites in the National Parks, it's not going to win awards for views and outlook. And whilst you are there make sure you go to 'Another Place' at Crosby - really fascinating.

Wardens do listen

We stayed here at the end of September, we even had a free fantastic firework display. We were unaware that the championships were being held that weekend! We have stayed here once before and find the site really handy both for the park and the nice stroll into town. The facilities are really good and kept immaculately clean, the wardens are all very friendly and happy to stop for a few words. Our grandaughter stayed a few days with us this time so I requested use of the toddlers bathroom, my only gripe was nowhere to sit dry and dress her after the bath. When I mentioned this to reception they really took on my observations and the following day there was a stool. Many members moan about aspects of their stay but how many speak directly to the wardens and give them a chance to rectify the problems? I always visit reception during my visit to say thank you or if I have any problem to report it, where possible there has always been a chance to sort things out. So please take time to say thank you.

Excellent located site

This is an outstanding site regarding location especially for motorhome users being so close to town/park/beach, for those less able you can use the P & R just down the road for £2 For 2 people all day, this takes you onto Lord Street the main shopping street and picks you up at any of the P & R bus stops on the same street. The Southport Miniature Railway is great for both young and young at heart alike, located between the shopping areas and the lake gardens. The staff at Southport are a credit to the Club, helpful and seem very happy to be doing their jobs, whilst we are all enjoying our holidays.
