We had a lovely weekend at Southport Club Site last week, helped by very spring-like weather in February.
The site is really well set up with plenty of facilities and good access for dog walking in local park and also to the Town Centre.
This was our first time out in our new motorhome and we had a bit of a mechanical problem when we came to empty the grey water. Simon, one of the Wardens, came over and sorted this out for us, which was a great help as my husband is somewhat disabled and would not have been able to sort this himself. He is a credit to the Club.
Overall the other staff were also very friendly and helpful.
Spotlessly clean, friendly site staff....But
As we have always found, this site was immaculate, both the shower block and the site itself.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
This is an excellent site for just parking up and walking to the town centre, and all other facilities (if you are reasonable mobile, and if not, there is a park and ride nearby)
Excellent bus and train connections in Southport centre. The Atkinson building is always warm welcoming and has interesting exhibitions, cafe, library, and tourist information.
Now the BUT:
We were dismayed to find the large section of the site barred to members, as was its associated shower block. Never experienced this before here, and the site spaciousness was one of its plus points. Now everyone is confined to a smaller area and one shower block. And to cap it all, of the 6 mens showers in that block, 3 had been taken out of service. This meant I had to queue for a shower at 07:30am!! Not amused. I raised this with the staff, and they said they would sort out the out of service showers. Result - one extra shower opened up, presumably grudgingly as it the water supply was left turned off.
Come on the Club and Southport site, stop being so mean and restrictive, employ enough staff so we can use all the faculties we have paid for!!
Massive Improvement!
New site staff and you can tell. Great happy welcome, friendly, respectful and much better than previous site team. Always waved when they when past you and it was such a pleasure having friendly site team. Site is very clean and tidy and the toilets have improved massively. They are clean now!
3 Day Stay
Booked this site as a base for visiting Liverpool. It’s a 20 minute walk to Birkdale train station with trains every 20 mins and a bargain at £5.40 return. Southport is.easy 25 min walk. Site has excellent facilities and very peaceful at this time of the year. I would defiantly return in the future.
windy weekend
just spent 2 nights at this site staff were very good, facilities were excellent and ideally placed for a walk into town ( less than 10 minutes) would recommend booking early as already booked up on certain dates in 2019 well worth a visit as plenty of walks nearby.
Clean and tidy but expensive
We were here between Christmas and New Year and was our third visit. The site is well maintained and the amenities absolutely immaculate and warm. Good location close to Victoria Park and 10 minute walk to Morrisons with a further few minutes into Lord Sreet.
Downside is the price - £32.50 per night for two people at this time of year, in Europe we can expect a shop, bar, restaurant and even a swimming pool for this price!
Contrary to last reviewer, the crazy golf course is in fact a track for radio controlled model cars and only used weekends in the summer.
2 Day Stopover
The wardens here are all friendly and helpful and all the amenities were very clean.
My only criticism of this site is the location as it backs onto a crazy golf course with no perimeter fencing so security could be an issue although there are numerous cctv cameras on site.
Lovely site
We use southport club site a lot as we don't live too far away, the wardens are nice they keep the site clean and tidy. The shower blocks are normally nice and warm, easy walk into the town

Southport
A warm and very helpful welcome to an excellent site well kept and managed and lots for all ages on the doorstep
Windy weekend
Usual good welcome that has become the norm for us on CMC sites. Clean ablusions block. Site within walking distance to town. Great Thai restaurant on Bold Street, Thai rice. Excellent. Use this site for fireworks and occasional weekend, never been disappointed
