Our Favourite Site

This was our 3rd time staying at this site and it never disappoints. The wardens were new this year and were extremely friendly and helpful. My son had a problem when his ball went into the nearby field at the play area and we then found out that the warden is having trouble with the landowner and we may struggle to get the ball back. He did try for us and will continue to do so with a promise that he will forward on the ball on to us if he gets it back so he is doing all he can to help. The area is beautiful and the village of Newchurch is very pretty with an excellent local pub with a beer garden and a superb menu with top quality food. The island is not too big and all parts of it are easily accessible and well worth the effort. I even took my son for a trip on the hovercraft from Ryde to Portsmouth. There is plenty for the kids to do and when given a choice of going abroad for this years holiday or going in the caravan they all chose the Isle of Wight so it must be good! We will certainly be returning to this site.

July 2015

Stayed here for the last week of July this year - a lovely site and immaculately clean throughout. Some of the local roads are a nightmare to tow on but not the sites fault obviously. My son loved the playground and spent many hours there. Nice dog walk provided - would be good to see the smaller part opposite the entrance to the dog walk sectioned off for nervous dogs. On the whole reception staff were welcoming and friendly - an odd time one of them didn't seem to want to give me the time of day - maybe because I'm on the younger side of the caravaning spectrum. The baby/toddler shower facility was a godsend and made life so much easier with my 21 month old daughter. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

The Cream of the club

Travelled via red funnel this year from Southampton to Cowes, can recommend these operators, we arrived early & they let us on, couldn't be more helpful. The site is as good as ever, very clean with very helpful & friendly staff. Just a short walk or drive to the local pub "The Pointer" for an excellent welcome and lovely meal. There's lots to do in the area, 2 weeks are not long enough, will return in the future.

Outstanding Site

This is one of the best club sites we have stayed on.  The toilet and shower block is excellent, very clean and well looked after.  The layout of the site with hedges between sections of pitches gives you a much smaller feel to the site, greater privacy and some protection from the wind, yet still enjoy the sunshine.  The staff are excellent and work very hard to keep the site looking so clean and tidy.  Lots of walking on the island, places to visit and things for children.  The local pub does a great meal but suggest you book at busy times to get a table as it is vey popular.  You can get to many places using the buses with a short walk from the site. The ferry crossing was pleasant from Southampton and reasonable price booked through the caravan club.  We will come again to complete some more of the coastal path!

Brilliant Site

This was our first time at the Isle of Wight, and we were not disappointed, a fantastic site the best we have been on, the wardens were very friendly, there was a lovely dog walk and a great big play park for kids, the Pointer Inn was in walking distance and very dog friendly, as were all the other pubs on the island we visited. we visited Sandown, Shanklin, the Needles, Yarmouth, East Cowes and Godshill where there is an amazing model village, its a must to visit. Our ferry crossing from Southampton to East Cowes was very pleasant, and very reasonably priced, by booking it through the caravan club site, our dogs travelled free and were allowed in the upstairs lounge, we got to the port a bit early and was offered to go on the earlier ferry, which was great, we will be back next year, cant wait xx

Outstanding

Excellent facilities, very clean. Their is a disabled shower/toilet and an additional assisted shower cubical in the main shower block. A separate toddler/young child, shower and bath room this was very useful as my little girl was poorly whilst away and i used the small bath to get her temperature down.  Lovely setting with hedges which was an excellent wind break. Beautiful play park and dog walking area. A wonderful pub, the pointer a short walk away serving outstanding food very friendly.  The staff at the site were very helpful and gave excellent professional, friendly service. We had a lovely stay here and would most defiantly recommend it.

Excellent site, beautifully kept and spotlessly clean.

The site is lovely, well tended and everywhere spotlessly clean. There seem to be too few staff and they were working constantly, other CC sites we have stayed at this year have many more staff but far fewer pitches.  Surely at least two more people are needed at Southland

Super Isle of Wight site

An excellent site in every respect. The facilities were first class and well maintained. The wardens were friendly, helpful and co-operative. We would recommend it to any Caravan Club members visiting the IOW.
