This a lovely site very well maintained ,toilet block very clean but facilities becoming dated
Not suitable for older children no play facilities on site
Very convient for bus stop, walks, shops and touring
Wardens are very hard working to ensure this well managed site
Lovely site, spacious pitches , excellent location with lots to do in the area. Very friendly wardens. We have been coming here for a few years now but would like to say how disappointed we were with certain dog owners who seem to think it is acceptable to allow their dogs , whilst walking around the site , using their long leads to allow their dogs to foul and urinate on the grass right beside our pitch. Caravan club take note ! Unacceptable! Most dog owners are very responsible and keep their dogs on a short lead . Perhaps it is new members who are unaware of how awful this is. I suggest when members check in that if they have dogs they are reminded about this along with the 5mph speed limit which we witnessed as also being ignored by some drivers . Sadly at one point during the weekend the toilets too had run out of toilet paper and some people had not left them as they would have wanted to find them. This site is so lovely and friendly and we will return as we really like it here but I would suggest that the wardens need to be more observant around the site in order to keep up the high standard it normally has.
We have just spent our second weekend at this site. It is a well kept site that is clean and tidy. The wardens are also very friendly. It was full when we were there and got the last two pitches to choose from but it was very quiet on the site, the only negative thing is the road noise but after a while you get used to it. We live in the hills and so we notice noise more than some. It is handy for petrol and supermarkets with Tesco 5 mins down the road and Morrisons the other way. We will certainly go back
This is a very good site for a relaxing break.
Its is kept exceptionally clean and tidy.
There is a bit of noise from the main road (A 93) but after the first night you get used to it.
A bit of a walk form the town if you don't want to use the car.
Great routes for walking the dogs that are nice and clean.
Morrisons & Tesco's nearby so convenient for any groceries required.
Only noticed that it being a 'Members Only' site that the members failed to adhere to the 5 MPH limit.
Some of the members arriving appeared to be in a race to get a pitch and numerous were walking through pitches heading to the toilets rather than walk round the road.
I think this was very bad manners. Members should know better.
This is a lovely small site. Wardens were friendly and helpful. With in a 10 to 15 minute walk to town along with some lovely walks along the river. No play area for children so not a good family site. The wife, dogs and I will be back.
This was our first time on this site and not disappointed, lovely site, wardens really helpful and friendly, facilities spotless. Tesco less than 10 minute walk in one direction and Morriston less than 15 in the other. Good places in the town to eat and if like us you have a dog some are dog friendly.
All in all a great stay and we will be back.
A nice well kept small site with spacious fairly level pitches. The open green area in the middle is attractive however this was marred on our stay by a neighbour using it as a dog walk for his three small dogs. There was an on site dog walk just yards away.
There is access to the river Dee adjacent to the site with miles of walking and cycling available. We walked to Banchory, a good half hour away. The site was a little too far out from town for us to consider using the site again, using a car or public transport, (there is a bus stop outside the site) makes things easier. There is a taxi rank by Smith's in town and we found a Best Western hotel doing a good Sunday carvery. Nice site but not for us.
Silverbank had been recommended by friends and so we had a few days there just a week ago. Lovely clean and tidy site, nicely situated in Banchory, which in itself is a lovely wee town. Some have remarked on the fact there is only one toilet block and that was not a problem for us but could understand how it might be at the height of the season.
Everyone very friendly and Sue was especially so she even phoning us at home to inform us of roadworks on the nearby 'B' Class road which was closed off and required us to divert via Aberdeen, probably another 25 miles on our journey.
Only observation I would make was that some of the pitches would be rather tight to reverse into but the majority of caravanners seem to have motor movers.
A lovely site in a lovely area all the way along Royal Deeside and facilities very close to hand.
A most enjoyable few days and we will return.
We have just spent a lovely 5 nights on this site. It is a small level site on the outskirts of Banchory. Site staff were helpful and the loos and showers were always clean and tidy, although it was a small block ( 4 loos, 3 showers & 3 sink cubicles for the ladies) . All the pitches are large hardstanding, so the van, awning and car are all on the hardstanding. There is a both a big Tesco and Morrisons within walking distance of the site. The only drawback of its position is that there is traffic noise from the main road.
We cycled from the site to Aboyne along the Deeside way, which is a long distance path from Aberdeen to Ballater. It is billed as suitable for walkers, cyclists and horses. Although it is not a mountain bike route, I would not recommend doing it on road bikes with skinny wheels because of the surface, which varies between compacted cinder paths and much looser gravelly sections. There is also a chunk in a forest, which we avoided by using the road, but this adds a lot of miles to the route. We also took the bike on the car to Aboyne, to do the section from there up to Ballater.
The caravan site has a leaflet and pdf on the website of a short 4 mile cycle loop to Crathes Castle. We used this as a walking route to the castle, and round the grounds, which is well worth a visit.
Another great stay at silverbank , as always site and facilities were spotless, staff very friendly and informative, looking forward to our next stay here
