Lovely little site

Just paid our first visit to this site. What a gem. Wardens were very friendly and welcoming, lots of info given about dog friendly places nearby- cafes, restaurants and bars. All the pitches are level and spacious with easy access to the amenities. The showers and toilets are spotless and there's no code or key needed to access them. Plenty of grass around the pitches so we were able to sit out in the sun and our dog could lay out on the grass. Easy access to the local town and supermarkets. We will definitely be back

My new favourite.

Have just finished an extended stay at Silverbank, set just outside Banchory. What a lovely little site, especially at this time of year, surrounded as it is by mature trees, shrubs and hedges, all in glorious autumnal tones. Half the size of most CAMC parks, it is set around two grassed areas. One facility block with three showers, cubicles and toilets in each, kept impeccably clean. No play area for children, and this was reflected in visitor make-up. Even at half-term, there were few junior members. We received a warm and helpful welcome from the warden couple, who manage this site with pride and constant attention. The all-hardstanding pitches and surrounds are tended and weeded daily and everything looks so neat. A fenced dog-walking area gives joy to many a hound, able to run off leash. And access to the riverside walk is available directly outside the site and extends for miles. A doggy delight. Lots of lovely tea-rooms to choose from (I particularly liked the Barn); Famous-House Chinese takeaway was excellent; and Sheridan's Butchers (who supply Balmoral) offered a fab selection of meats. Sightseeing in Deeside with castles galore; Cairngorms on the doorstep and the beautiful Moray Firth all within a day's drive. I really liked this little gem. Pay attention to arrival guidance, the instructions are perfect and needed. Satnav won't take you the best route.

Good location

Stayed here for a week in May when the weather was amazing, unfortunately this visit was quite a bit cooler but it did not stop us staying on for a second week. Wardens are excellent and keep the site immaculate. Toilet block is getting a bit dated but kept spotless and pitches are spacious. Supermarkets, pub and and an excellent walk along the banks of the Dee make it a pleasant site to visit. Bus stops for Aberdeen and Braemar are just outside the gate. Only issue and it is not unique to this site unfortunately is the speed of drivers on site, I even seen one young lady txting as she drove round.

Nice site

This is a nice level clean no fuss site. Did not get a particularly warm welcome here by the wardens in the office the lady did not have uniform not not sure why. They seemed to be more Interested in sorting out their computer than welcoming us. Site was ok though would stay there again.

Excellent weekend!

First visit to Silverbank but will definitely not be the last. Very friendly staff and lovely clean and tidy site. Pitches are very spacious and level with good separation. A bit of traffic noise as the site is next to the road, however hardly noticeable after a short time. Like the dog exercise area at the end of the site.

Delightful Banchory CAMC stay

Although not our first choice site due to poor weather in the West and not quite in the Cairngorms Regional Park we had one of our best breaks and a great place to kick off the new chapter with our new Moto-Trek van based Motorhome. Really well organised and unbelievably clean site with good sized pitches (all HS) in tree lined area not to far from the River Dee and pleasant Banchory. On our visit most folk there adults and being Members only kept everything civilised and very quiet. Poor mobile coverage a surprise but Pubs and Cafes with WiFi not far away. All pitches the same size and both road and business nearby not noisy as others have suggested as the area is on the edge of suburbia close to open countryside. Equidistant from walkable Tesco and Morrison’s a nice bonus. Deeside Way runs behind site with Aberdeen direction being more straight forward due to more staying true to old railway line. preserved railway a few miles away. Park Store at Drumoak up the road a delightful proper coffee serving fab pies and great cakes just opened. Looking forward to our return next year

Superb Site

Just back from another brilliant weekend at Silverbank! Superb site, Sue & Gary who run the site give you a great welcome and are so helpful, they make sure everything about your stay is perfect. The site is immaculate, pitches are a great size, it is the best site we have stayed at, the dog exercise area is a huge bonus, the doggies love getting over for a play in a safe and secure area. The toilets and shower facilities are cleaned to the highest standard, there is nothing about the site I could fault. Lots of effort is put into maintaining the site and the grounds. Tesco and Morrisons are within easy walking distance and there are some lovely walks to be had from the site entrance. If you are looking for peace and quiet and a relaxing break, you must try Silverbank. Steve & Bev Ross & Maggie & Hollie The Black Labs

Great Location

I stayed here for 3 nights 10 to 13 August. The site was lovely, with good sized and well spaced pitches, all of which appeared to be level. The toilet faciliies could do with an upgrade, although they were spotless. The wi-fi is totally useless....it kept cutting in and out, and when it was working it was as slow as a week in the jail !!!! This needs to be rectified asap, as it's very poor value for money. I think it's about time it was free on club sites anyway. The shops in Banchory are great with a big Morrisons and Tesco nearby, both with fuel stations. At about 1.15am on the Saturday morning i had to get out of bed and go to an adjacent motorhome who were having some sort of party, with loud music blaring out (mainly UB40!!). They didn't hear me knocking on the bonnet, or the door, and i had to actually open the door to get their attention, and ask them to turn it down!!! Very disappointing behaviour from fellow Club members!!! The only other problem was that there was a beer festival going on in Banchory that weekend, next to Tesco, and the noise of groups playing wafted across to the site all the time....not very good at all. I know this is beyond the Club's remit, but it would be handy if there was a note on the website about it, so members could be made aware of potential noise that weekend, when booking. Apart from that, it's a lovely site, well positioned for touring around the area.

Great location

Stayed here for two nights last week. Small site, a bit of road noise but quiet when we were there due to no children staying!!. Facilities are a bit dated but clean. Very convenient location for the lovely town of Banchory, two major supernarkets closeby. Good walks nearby and convenient for fishing the river.
