Brilliant site

we spent a week at this site and loved it. The wardens were very friendly and helpful and site was spotless. Supermarkets very close to the site and so was the bus stop, just out side. Would be nice if the caravan club could invest some money on a better toilet block as mentioned in other reviews there are not many showers and toilets. But would recommend this site.

Lovely Site

Just returned from a two week holiday in Scotland. We stayed at Silverbank for the 2nd week and really enjoyed our stay. Relatively small site but very well maintained. Ideal base for the east coast of Scotland and the Cairngorms. Located on the edge of Banchory it is a relatively short walk into town (lovely town) and bus stops are just outside the entrance if you want to travel further afield. Probably not as good for families as no play areas/equipment for kids but ideal for me and the wife. Would definitely recommend.

WELL WORTH A VISIT

REALLY GOOD SITE Visited here for the first time 16th July for 2 nights, wished we had stayed longer!!! It was relief wardens on duty and they were very friendly, the site was spotless, as was the toilet block. I did not think it was expensive, as we paid more at Grantown on Spey and the facilities were definately not as good. Planning on going back there as soon as we can. The site has beautiful walks only 5 minutes from the front entrance, and Banchory is a really pretty town only a 15-20 minute walk away. Also buses run right by the front gate to Aberdeen, and Braemar if you want to leave the motorhome on site. Love this site.

Site not as good as we first thought.

Stayed at Banchory last weekend arrived 15th July 2017 for three nights as a stop over between a visit to Balmoral Castle and Aberdeen. Whilst the overall site was maintained rather well and the wardens quite welcoming when we saw them daily.... we found the site quite expensive compared to other sites with much better facilities. Our total pitch fee was £99.00 for three adults and we were not really impressed overall. My wife and I to include my disabled father found that the facilities were rather poor at Banchory and there were certainly not enough toilets and showers for the amount of people that were staying on site which in fact was FULL ( 3 x showers and 3 x toilets for men) the same for womans block and 1 x disabled wet-room and toilet. Every day....everyone had to queue for long periods of time and on the Saturday morning there were five men in front of me waiting therefore it took me nearly one and a half hours just to have a shower. On a daily basis especially in the morning,...there were very long periods of time just to use the toilets too. My father experienced extremely long waits just to use the disabled toilets, because there were only three showers in the men & woman's blocks....everyone who could was using the disabled shower and toilet too, therefore disabled people could not use the facilities. The site was also situated right next to the main Banchory Road and the traffic noise during the day and early evening was rather noisy....it only quietened down around 11pm onward, however early morning around 5 am all the noise started all again and you were awaken early each day. Would I stay there again ....NO, Do I feel it was value for money....NO. Would I recommend this site....NO

Great Site-Highly Recommend

As we are new to Caravanning, this was a great place for us to start, we stayed here 3 nights & will certainly be back very soon, Gary & Sue (Landlords) make the site, from the warm welcome that you receive from them on arrival, & really very helpful during our stay & nothing was to much for them, the site is spotless & well kept, immunities immaculate, nice walk behind the site old Deeside railway track, Tesco & Morrison near by the site & the lovely Banchory just along the road.

Regular visitors

We are regular visitors to this site. Excellent transport links into Aberdeen, lots of National Trust for Scotland places to visit within easy reach. Tesco just a short walk away. A couple of excellent garden centres nearby. Good for cyclists and runners and dog walkers! Road noise can be a bit load depending on where you pitch but no other issues.

Highly Recommend

Relaxing site on the Deeside Way. Ideal for walking/cycling. Within a mile of the local town of Banchory with both Tesco and Morris ons within walking distance. Banchory is lovely with Cafe and pubs and unusual independent retailers. A lovely park which you can walk through to the town from the site. Taxi Rank in the town and one way journey £5. Staff were welcoming and accommodating. Would highly recommend a stay.

Peaceful and picturesque

What a lovely site this is, very well kept with lovely lots of flowers and flowering bushes and hedges very eye pleasing and welcoming. It's next to a busy main road and as I am a light sleeper we pitched over on the riverside of the site and it wasn't a problem we couldn't hear the road only the lovely birdsong coming from a great variety of birds in the woods running behind the site. It has lovely walks two minutes walk down into the woods and the River Dee, what a beautiful river, there is also a footpath and cycle path, part of the national cycle network. You are close enough to walk to main supermarkets or if you prefer there is a bus stop just outside of site. Banchory itself has a good selection of shops and eating and drinking places, it also has a lovely park, we walked in via the river path which you have to leave at one point to go up into the town, but you can get back down if you want to. If you have dogs I would give the Falls of Feugh café/restaurant a miss, you have to sit in their front area right on the main road as they have no admittance to dogs at all, not even to go through to the rear terrace overlooking the river. We loved Silverbank site and will definitely return, the staff are really friendly and work hard to keep up the standards on maybe a little dated site, but lovely all the same.

Holiday Break

This is a good site if you want peace and tranquillity. The area is very clean and tidy although never saw wardens doing much around site. 1st day on site the bins had only been emptied once and the following days the drains were only hosed with cold water even though there were scrubbing brushes on the trailer. On 1 occasion noticed that the toilets had only had a quick check and not the usual thorough wash & clean. The toilets could do with a complete revamp as they are getting a bit 'tired' looking. The site was very busy all week and there were several pitches with 'Red Cones' on them as they were unable to be used something I have never seen before. A few inconsiderate members travelling at well over the 5 mph recommended speed within site. Overall a fine site.
