Stayed here 24th - 31st July, excellent facilities friendly staff. Wardens have done lovely job with the various flower beds around the site and the little park area surrounding the info centre is a credit to them, not seen a nicer spot on any sites we have visited. Ideal site for visiting all beaches nearby, the park and ride into Scarborough well worth it. Although we no longer have a young family it is an ideal site for children. Will certainly come again.
Stayed here 9th-19th July. Fabulous site. Wardens do a fantastic job. All facilities well looked after and spotless. We were on the lower side of the site which was great for our daughter to access the park - she thoroughly enjoyed doing the Tourer Explorer activity! Lots to do and see in the area - highly recommend rock making at John Bull, Eden Camp and fab beaches at Filey and Robin Hood's Bay. Food wonderful in The Copper Horse at Seamer and fab fish and chips at North Bay Fisheries in Scarborough. Only downside was not staying longer :-(
Stayed 23rd to 30th July 2016 with two grandchildren (9 and 7 yrs) - their first caravan trip with us.
Everything we expect from Caravan Club sites was met - well kept, clean, pleasant wardens, pitch space - and all coupled with a great area around .
Being on a terraced type layout gave the impression that each area was a smaller site in itself whilst also having the space of a larger site overall.
Grandchildren had a fantastic time on-site using the play and sport facilities and riding around on bikes / skates and just mixing with other children, younger and older - and getting ice creams and sweets from the office!
All absolutely first class
Staff very friendly but not obtrusive, apologised when carrying out ground maintenance which is a job that has to be done, but they were quick and out of the way, could do with a sign pointing to the site from the Thirsk way to West Ayton other wise you miss the turning, I gave a four for peace & quiet only due to the fact that a caravan with a couple of small dogs would allow them to yap most of the time & did not consider other site user's, but other dog owners very considerate & well behaved, the pitches are well spaced apart and there are many areas which are separated by hedging and banks, giving that bit of seclusion, easy access to Scarborough & Whitby, I would without a doubt recommend this site & would have no issue in visiting again.
really delightful site the warden was just perfect as in you saw him around the site doing his bit and making people feel really welcome and was also keen to help were he could site was really well maintained and looked after you felt the wardens had gone the extra mile to make it look stunning .
there was a good mix of people on the site and all seemed to get on without invading each others space lots of room for kids to be kids dog walk was well looked after aswell ,
toilets and shower block nice and tidy no complaints there .
the only thing i could say that felt a bit teadious was the one way system we were on the lower grass pitches and to get to it you had to drive past every other pitch on the site i felt that the small slope down to the lower pitch could have been two way and wouldnt have caused a problem but would have cut a lot of the site tour out thats the only thing i could think of that could have been improved on not the end of the world though.
i would recommend this site to anybody of any age group it seems to tick all the boxs.
its location is good for if you want to go for a tour around the area .
we will definetly be there again big thumbs up from us
Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay here. The site is great with plenty room between each van. The reception area is beautifully kept and the dog walking was good.
The site is very clean with helpful staff, the individual sites are nicely laid out apart from each other offering personal space. For families there is a very large enclosed play area including pool tables and table tennis to keep them occupied, for dog owners there is an enclosed dog walking area where dogs can be let off there lead. The site is within relatively easy walking distance of East Ayton which has a pub, a fish and chip restaurant and a fish and chip shop along with a relatively large Spar shop at the petrol station. My only watch out would be. If you want to eat out on Sunday evening you need to travel further afield by car as there is no food served in the village. On other nights the pub directly at the bottom of the lane serves excellent food which is not expensive.
I have just spent two nights at this site and the only fault I have is I could not stay longer. Very clean well laid out site with very helpful and considerate staff.
I will be back.
Just got back from a 6 day holiday at West Ayton. Staff were all very polite and helpful. We requested a pitch near to the facitities as my husband is disabled, and we were given a peaceful pitch right next to the facilities. The site is well maintained and the showers were the best we have ever used, they were spotless and very powerful. Will be visiting this site again in the future. A big thank you to all the staff
