Nice camping site

Our first stay at this camping site, and a very pleasant one. Although the site is quite big, one does not really notice because it is kind of divided into separate parts. The children (11, 7, 6) were particularly happy about the playgrounds on site and really enjoyed themselves. Pitches have a good size and facilities are well-kept and clean. Area is nice with York, Scarborough, Whitby and other places within easy reach for a day trip. Stayed for a week and would certainly return.

Great Site

First time at this site, wardens very helpful and friendly, site is kept very well, clean, tidy and colourful with the flowers that greet you when you arrive at the reception area, had a weeks holiday with our 4 grandchildren, lots to do with nice beach in Scarborough, also with the play area on site lots of space for running about and ball games, will certainly come again.

lovely stay

We stayed here for 4 nights.  The site is nicely laid out and many of the hard-standing pitches have a good amount of grass around them to really spread out and relax.  We have no negative comments about this site.  Whilst we were there we visited Pickering to catch a steam train to Whitby, visited Goathland and were well situated for an easy ride into Scarborough for a concert one evening. It is a very clean, well maintained site and suits all ages.  Our children are grown up and it was lovely to see young children having some innocent fun running around, riding their bikes and generally enjoying themselves without the usual electronic gadgets.

Great Site

This is a really pleasant site and one that is excellently located for all the tourist attractions: Scarborough, Whitby, The Wolds, Dalby Forest, North Yorks Moors Railway etc. If you take your dog(s) at tip would be check the dog-friendly beaches first (Scarbourgh North Beach is wonderful), but make sure you check the tides (eg EasyTide: http://www.ukho.gov.uk/easytide/EasyTide/SelectPort.aspx ). You won't find any beach to walk on at high tide... The very riendly wardens work really hard to look after everything to the highest standards - just a shame a minority give them a harder life with their litter and not picking up after their dogs.

Return visit........

Were on site for the last week of July........ Quite a large site, and popular with families but it never seemed noisy. Site has three pairs of wardens who manage to keep the site and facilities immaculate. The floral display is a joy to behold, and should win any prizes going - congratulations to the green fingered wardens who have achieved this. Location is great, with a variety of scenery around... North York Moors Railways for train enthusiasts RSPB Bempton Cliffs for 'birders', and just brilliant areas to explore for walkers and cyclists. Food wise, a trip a little north of Scarborough to a pub called Bryherstones Inn at Cloughton is well worth a visit. They can trace their ingredients from field to fork -- the meat is supplied by the landlady's family -- fish fresh from Whitby and vegetables all grown locally. Hospitality at it's best, with ALL the staff smiling.Very reasonable prices for superb pub food - go and enjoy.

One of the best CC sites....

spent ten days here. On arrival, welcome was lovely, and the cheerful smiles and helping hand offered by the wardens continued throughout our stay. Beautifully maintained site, I get the feeling the wardens take great pride in what they do. The peace broken only occasionally by children enjoying them selves,,,,,,great to see them having fun......but really no bother. Location is great for getting around. So much to see and do. We are quite taken with the beauty of Yorkshire and the friendly welcome wherever we went. Definitely a return visit is on the cards.....!

Kids & Parents

Been going to this site for over 10 years, evens though we have to do so in the school holidays ? Some of the parents are just as bad as their children , letting them play football around other peoples caravans, even when parked just 20/30 yards away from the play area, which has a large football pitch. when asked to stop annoying us and other campers near to us, you can understand why the kids are so ignorant!! Talk about a chip off the old block!! The site has also wasted money on no cycling, scooter or skateboard signs as these are not taken notice of !!

Great Site

This was our first outing in our newly acquired motor home so only booked one night at the very last minute to try it out. So glad we came here, it was perfect. Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. The site was well designed and set out, spacious and very clean with immaculate grassed areas and lots of colourful planters. There's a useful information centre with personal recommendations of where to eat locally. The weather was also glorious. Couldn't fault it. We will definitely be coming back again for longer.

A Very Neat Site

A very clean, neat and tidy site. It is seems to be a very popular site as it was fully booked when we stayed there. I felt it was to crowded, not much room between caravans. All so close.
