An excellent site

We stayed here in the last week of July first week of August. A very well kept site with extremely friendly and helpful wardens. Great location. We will definitely be back again.

Enjoyable Stay

It's been a long time since we visited this area and haven't been here since we bought our caravan. The site was easy to find and had good access although the site one-way road system can be a bit tortuous if you're parked in certain areas. The facilities are very well kept but the toilet block on the south side has only 3 showers in the men's section which means that you sometimes have to wait. Our stay was during the school holiday period and there were a lot of families on the site. It was lovely to see the children enjoying the freedom but there was often noise in the very late evening from both adults and children when we felt that visitors could have been more considerate to other site users, especially those who had very young children who were trying to get to sleep. The site gives good access to Scarborough (Park & Ride not far away), Filey and Bridlington and the North Yorkshire Moors and there are plenty of places to visit and enjoy for all ages in the district around the site.

Great week

Lovely well maintained site. All the wardens welcoming and friendly. The floral displays wonderful, hats off, job well done. Well placed site for walking, cycling and trips to surrounding amenities. Great areas for children to play, lots of space in the field, away fro vans. Did read in another review about traffic speed, noticed that to. No reflection on the wardens as they will deal with it if seen. Its up to the members. 5mph is not difficult. Certainly easier than yours or somebody else's child knocked over. Rant over. Anyway, great site, great week. One to revisit.

With the grandchildren

Just returned from another week's stay with 3 of our grandchildren (aged 8-14). The site was excellent as always with friendly and helpful wardens who manage to keep everything in order whilst maintaining a low profile. Not an easy task on a full site in the middle of the school holidays.   There were a few members who continue to speed around the site despite having children of their own, oblivious of the 5 mph limit! Try staying in first gear it is much easier to maintain walking speed that way.  Site is perfectly located for all the pleasures of Scarborough and beyond whilst being a pieceful haven after the rigors of the day. Good variety of pitches both grass & hard standing with two good toilet blocks of the usual high standard.  We will happily return.

ANOTHER LOVELY CC SITE

Stayed at this site for 4 nights in mid-August, so expected it to be busy.  It was - yet it was extremely quiet.  A large site on different levels, it has plenty of facilities for younger ones and lots of walks in the countryside.  A short walk gets you to pubs, restaurants, a shop and a garage.  Also a bus stop so even though the site is about 6 miles from Scarborough, you can be there in 20 minutes ( about £2 fare) on the regular service if you don't want to take your camper / car.  The only issue we had on our pitch was that the electrical hook-up was at the limit of my cable and there were not enough TV booster points.  That said, the only channels we had difficulty with were the BBC ones, there were plenty of others available.  And the pitches, where we camped were very spacious. This is our second visit to West Ayton CC Site and most likely will not be our last.  Enjoy.

Fantastic Site!

Stayed at West Ayton for the first time for 4 nights over last weekend What a fantastic site! This site is a credit to the wardens that run it and to the club as a whole Well laid out on different levels which give it character Modern, clean shower and toilet facilities Great facilities for children with a large play area and a big dog walking field The wardens are really friendly and helpful which gives the place a really good vibe As I said our first visit here but it certainly won't be our last

Fantastic site

Stayed here for just 1 night in August, and we really loved it, will definitely come again next year but for a week next time, the showers and toilets are great, and really clean, no noise in the site and a really good dog walking area, the wardens are really pleasant and helpful too. I didn't realize how many things there are to do and see in the area, Scarborough is really nice
