Top Site with Top Staff.

We have just spent another 3 nights at Rowan Park and were not disappointed. My wife had a bit of a medical glitch on our first night, an ongoing problem. The wardens found her in terrible pain outside of the wash block and walked her back to our pitch and made sure she was safely in the van. The next morning they came to check that she was ok. We are not sure of their names but we can't thank them enough. The site is top condition with everything clean and tidy. Yes there is a bit of road noise but the site info does warn of that. Overall a nice place to stay, we will be going back.

Fabulous site

Although some reviews mention the noise of the traffic and yes, during our stay we heard the same overall our stay was fabulous. The site is very well managed with a good size pitch on offer. The shower/toilet facilities were spotless and our hosts very helpful

Noisy and backs onto a graveyard

I'm really very sorry to have to give a bad review, but this campsite was, unfortunately, the worst I have ever stayed on and I've been camping for a good few years (since the early 1980s), but only recently joined and used the Caravan Club facilities. Good points: the pitches were flat, level and gravelled. Hook-up points are shared, 4 to one post. There were a lot (and I mean a lot) of big shops nearby (KFC and Halfords were located opposite, while half a mile away were Sainsbury, Tesco and the like). Bad points: Pitch backed onto a graveyard (was not informed about this). A very, very busy main road running alongside the site. A key for the toilet blocks was obligatory which indicated to me the staff (unlike at other sites) did not regularly check the site/facilities or its customers satisfaction levels. I said I didn't need the key because I had my own toilet in the campervan. This was met with stiff resistance and the reason given was that staff would know I was off the site when my key had been handed back in through the letterbox. I tried to negotiate the reasons why I didn't want it and other ways around the situation, but this was their system and they were sticking to it. I'd rather not say anymore as I don't wish to spread ill-feelings. However, I will be avoiding this site in future.

Our thanks to the staff at Rowan Park and to the Caravan Club booking team

We were already booked in for a fortnight at Rowan Park following our holiday in France, unfortunately a sudden death in the family changed our plans. We were in the South of France when we received the terrible news and needed to bring our start date forward at Rowan Park and change our tunnel booking so we could get to our family who live around Bognor. I contacted the CC booking team and they changed all our bookings within minutes allowing us to start our journey back. On our arrival at Rowan Park the Wardens and Assistant Wardens were excellent nothing was too much trouble for them during our initial stay and subsequent return for the cremation at one of the busiest times of the year (festival of speed). We would like to express our sincere thanks for all of their help and concern during this trying time.

First Class Club Site

We stayed for three nights in our new motorhome visiting the Goodwood Festival of Speed, just 20 minutes drive away. We were pitched closed to the entrance and therefore the busy island road junction. We expected it to be very noisey at night, but were surprised to find it quiet...and we live very rural in Norfolk so know about quiet! The site was spotless, with beautiful grass and level pitches. Hard standing if you want it, plus the services and facilities were fantastic. Looking like new. The whole place was very well managed. We would give this site five stars and fully recommend it.

June 2019

I'll start with the bad points but please read on as its worth a stay in the end! Bad point: Road noise. Yes, its noisy its situated on the A29 which is very busy road from work commutes to people shopping on the retail park opposite. But after a few days we got used to it. As for the good points: Toilet, showers, laundry and the general upkeep of the site we found was super tidy and clean. Toilets and showers cleaned very thoroughly daily by the wardens (who were lovely). Security is great. There is a barrier which has a code and is changed regularly so you feel when you leave your van behind it's safe and secure. It's great for dogs, we have a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and he was made to feel welcome by the wardens and other campers. There is a small dog pen facility within the campsite which is great for some little offlead time. Just out the of the main gates there is a nature reserve and a fab place to walk your dogs or even if you haven't got a dog.... it's worth a walk. As mentioned above there is a retail park opposite which has plenty of shops to help your food shop, halfords for any little things you may need, car or caravan/motorhome related. East Wittering beach is a short 20min drive away. Not only a fab beach but again, great for dogs. Nice pub a short 10min walk away that serves nice grub, sainsburys and Tesco wre also a 10min walk away!. Despite the noise from the traffic. We have booked again in April next year for another week!

Excellent site

What a great site. Check in was easy despite a midday rush of people checking in and out with various caravans and motorhomes. This was our 1st time out with the Caravan & motorhome club and we were not disappointed. The initial greeting was good and friendly. I like the fact you can choose your pitch instead of been allocated somewhere the other side of the site despite only a few others on site. Location is good although you do get to hear some road noise which didn't bother us. There are plenty of shops close by as well as fast food outlets. if you want peace and quiet I don't think this will be for you. The toilets and shower block were always clean and even though the site was pretty full there was never a queue. The staff were all really friendly. We stayed for 6 nights and booked an extra day as the sun was due out (and it was) but thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to others.

Lovely but Noisy!

Great location with easy access to a lovely area. Retail parks close by with useful shops and fast food restaurants. Site is adjacent to two busy roads with a constant traffic noise at all hours. Seemed to be as busy at 0530 as it was during the day. For me this spoilt what would otherwise have been a lovely site. To be sat relaxing outside the van with a main road running by was not exactly peaceful. I had thought I would get used to the noise but there were also frequent bursts of noise from boy/girl racers and the odd ambulance siren too. Probably wouldn't use again which is a shame as everything else about the site was good, especially the nature reserve for dog walks and the friendly and helpful staff.

Lovely site which made us first timers really welcome

We were nervous as it was our first time ever away and picked here because it is very close to home and had a last minute space. The wardens made us so welcome and had lots of tips for us newbies (thank you so much for that much appreciated!) and all the other campers were friendly and welcoming. The shower and toilets are lovely and so very clean and the grounds beautifully kept, can’t fault facilities at all. Being fairly local we knew site was next to busy road so noise no surprise to us townies who are used to it anyway, and we were on a pitch away from road. The road is only reason I gave 3 stars for peace. The site itself is very peaceful but the background road noise could be a problem for some. Location is great there is a Kentucky, McDonald’s, Pizza Hut and Burger King all within a few minutes walk and a friendly pub doing great carveries. Also a Sainsbury’s and a Lidl which is very convenient. The roads are busy to cross to get to them but we managed without any bother. There is a small nature park right next door not particularly pretty but a nice enough walk and great for dog walkers. Sadly the beginning of the park is one big dog toilet but if you venture further in it becomes more clean and enjoyable. We really enjoyed our maiden trip so much so that we will be back for two nights later in the year.
