Great Site

When we arrived on Friday night we were greeted by very friendly smiling wardens and staff, all happy to help as this was only our second outing in our Motorhome. The site is well spaced out, quiet with very good clean facilities. The information room is very helpful, and the Wardens fabulous. A great weekend

Rally at Rooksbury

On a recent caravan club rally on this site, we were met by fantastic assistant wardens, so to our surprise we were then visited by the head warden on her bike, where she preceded interrupt a conversation and tell us off for saving places for members who needed to be the near the rally officers and family attending. Over the weekend we heard from many people attending the rally that they had had bad experiences with this warden. She needs to be trained in what a rally is all about. Many thanks to the assistant wardens who we wish well.

Usual standards

Returning to caravanning after a few years break. Caravan Club sites still set the bar high for maintaining standards. One of the toilet/wash place areas - there was a single gate with a latch, included in the surrounding fence. I did not see the need for this gate, as there was open access around the remainder of the block. The gate was just a nuisance for those carrying bags, waste containers or water containers and made a noise when it banged shut. An enjoyable stay on a well maintained site. Thanks.

Family stay

We visited this site at the beginning of Aug so expected it to be busy. It is a large site, which we don't usually go for. Play area is great and surroundings are beautiful considering you are 15mins away from busy Portsmouth. Facilities were brilliant as usual and cleanliness was fantastic. Wardens were helpful and we had a very nice few days. We used this site as we wanted to visit Portsmouth docks but you are within east reach or Southampton, Gosport etc. We also went to Marwell Zoo for the day which isn't far away and a lovely day out, overall it was a great site

Excellent site our second visit an not our last.

This is a superb site with hardstanding and grass pitches, we prefer the grass pitches as they are less regimented. We had a great stay peaceful and clean, the toilet blocks are spotless as is the rest of the site. This is the best dog walking facilities we have encountered a secure field which is big enough to fling a ball all day long for our 2 year old cocker spaniel who love chasing the ball.

Overnight stay

We came off the Santander ferry and arrived at about 9.00 pm. There were no signs on the small approach road and we were frightened that we got lost at night as the site was a long way down the lane. The pitches were not demarcated, or at least we did not see in the dark. The warden came out and directed us and helped us in parking. Very grateful for that. The site was very clean and in the daylight we could see it was big and well organized.

Boat show trip

We have stayed at this site 5 out of last 6 years for a week or more. Lovely site, no noise from the outside world, generous pitches, good facilities and very good wardens, helpful and friendly. Only negative is the dog run has been cut in half to accommodate campers( only 1 tent on half the field) , still better than most tho. Will definately return , steve n sal
