Lovely place, dog friendly.

Stayed at Rooksbury Park for 2 nights from Sunday 28th April, a quick trip back from our home near St Ives in Cornwall. Lovely friendly greeting, booked in quickly, and off to find a pitch, we have a VW Camper van, with a large awning, so we need to park it with the near side against the peg, so we had to have a helping hand to get the right pitch. Soon set up and chilling. The facilities are spotless, and convenient to all pitches. The dog exercise area is one of the best we have seen, and our Cocker Spaniel Eddie loves it. One thing can dog owners please pick up your dogs POO, there is no such thing as The Poo Fairy, you know who you are. This is not only dirty it can cause nasty diseases, so do your bit. Th S is not a task for the wardens. The site is beautifully kept and this is down to the hard work of the lovely friendly Wardens, Andie,Al, Karen, Martin, Sharonand Martin. Thank you all. We intend to return. Thanks Carol, Paul and Eddie

Great site but....

Having recently joined the Caravan and Motorhome Club, this was the first Caravan Club site we have stayed at. As others have said the site is excellent and we could not fault the facilities, location and staff. It was not clear when booking that the grass pitches were not available early in the season which was a bit of a disappointment having to pitch the awing on hardstanding. The WiFi was next to useless despite a good WiFI signal, the data throughput was so slow it was almost impossible view simple websites. Considering there is a charge for this service it represents very poor value for money. While we did not visit the site with the intention of surfing the web all day, it would have been helpful to plan the next days trip on Google maps or National Trust web sites, but sadly this was not possible. I think the groundsman had one of the noisiest ride on mowers, which rather destroyed the peace throughout the day. Don't get me wrong this is a great site but when you pay top dollar you want it to be perfect. With that said we would stay there again.

Excellent site with very friendly wardens.

We stayed on this site for 8 nights. We were given a very friendly welcome and found a pitch near to a toilet book and service point but with only 2 other caravans in close proximity. We had our 2 young grandchildren (aged 4 and 2) stay with us for a couple of nights - we had chosen this pitch so as not to disturb too many people if the children were noisy before 7.00 a.m. We needn't have worried as they were quiet - the wardens made the little ones day by waving every time they passed on their tractor; only a little thing but it will be one of their holiday memories (and ours!) There is a large playing field and play equipment away from the pitches. The site facilities were immaculately kept and this was in the school holidays with lots of children around. The drive down to the site gave you a real feeling of being in the woods whilst not being far from civilisation. The Bay Tree tea room in nearby Wickham is a recommendation for breakfast. I would definitely recommend this site to families. Thank you to the wardens for always having a smile.

Quality Site

We ventured into caravan club membership as we wanted to stay at this site prior to catching the ferry to France. The pitch we were given was more than big enough for our American fifth wheel RV. Everyone was friendly and accommodating and park rules are enforced 😉 Mobile signal could be challenging but probably depends on your network. If you like a curry, try the Veranda in Wickham! Being able to book a ferry pitch for the night before our sailing was really useful as we could leave at 5.30am without major disruption to other caravanners

A beatiful site but beware

A beautiful woodland surrounded site in Hampshire. A nice dog walk area and all the usual things you would expect from a club site, decent clean facilities etc. However there is an issue with the site electric. We had 3 power cuts during our 4 night stay due to overloading of the site. Other members stated it was a frequent and long term issue. The longest it was off was about an hour and a half. The site only has 300amps in total. Which is easily exceeded particularly in the colder mornings. Don't let it spoil your stay in a lovely site but make sure you've got gas for fridge/heating, 12v tv if you have one just in case. More likely to happen in the winter I would think or when the site is full.

Excellent Site

This site is great, i did notice however, some pitches had a sign put on them saying "Please Do Not Pitch Here" or something like that. Then an elderly gentleman pitched his caravan on that picth with the sign. When asked how come he can park there we were told oh thats because i an here for a long time so it stops anyone from pitching for a short period! When we asked the wardens if they are allowing pitch number reservations now, answere was no! but clearly they are!

Superb site

We have just had a week long stay at this superb site. Although it is large and was busy it was extremely peaceful and didn't feel crowded at all. The site staff were excellent friendly and very efficient, giving the whole site a warm and friendly feeling. The site is excellent for dog owners with a very large fenced dog field and smaller doggie pit stops dotted around, also easy access to acres of forestry commission woodland next door. The shower blocks which looked recently refurbished were the best we've yet experienced and they were beyond immaculate with powerful showers. The visiting food vans were also excellent. We would definitely recommend this fabulous site and will be returning next year!

Perfect, thank you

Having recently stayed at and having had to complain about another club site further North and eventually having had the very condescending reply of the area manager, it was a relief to arrive here and find lovely helpful staff and a wonderful site. This is without a doubt the nicest and best run site of both the clubs of which we are members, that we have been to. All the facilities that we saw or used are as at least good or better than they need to be. The site had a friendly calm atmosphere despite it being quite busy. We will certainly be back especially if are using one of the Portsmouth ferry services for which the site is ideally placed. Thank you to all who work there.

September Break

This was our first stay at Rookesbury Park and from the start we were very impressed. The toilet blocks were immaculate and the team of Wardens were hard working and friendly.
