Another brilliant visit

This is our local site to which we escape as often as we can. It is the most gorgeous & peaceful location, you feel as though you are miles from anywhere but in fact are only a couple of miles from the quaint market town of Wickham. The fantastic team of wardens keep the site very clean, tidy & welcoming. The facilities are excellent with extra rails in some showers & toilet cubicles to help those less mobile but those needing a wet room are catered for in a separate room. We timed our last visit to coincide with their hog roast fund raising evening which was most enjoyable & raised a lot of money for the very worthwhile Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance. This event meant a great deal of extra work for the already hard working wardens but they managed it without the ever present smiles leaving their faces. Our Westie always knows when we have arrived on site & gets very excited, he loves the huge dog field that is well fenced & totally secure so he can have a good run off the lead. During the recent heat wave the adjacent forest was a real treat that was cool to walk in.

Top Site for visiting Portsmouth

We have just left Rookesbury last week and have to say what a lovely tidy site, well kept with really clean toilet blocks, ( it is a pity that some members do not care about the state they leave the facility in ) but the wardens work hard to keep site in tip-top condition, especially Richard who is always out working, Deborah his wife in the reception always helpfull and very pleasant are a credit to the club, looking forward to our next visit

Local Site

We are very local to Rookesbury Park and visit on a regular basis, have always enjoyed the site and cannot fault anything about it. Staff are exceptional and it makes the visits all the more enjoyable.

Fabulous all round!

My Fiancé and I (along with 'Cynthia') have been coming to this site for some years now, and this last stay has been the best yet! We were initially booked in for 5 nights during a weeks holiday but ended up staying for two weeks! We are fortunate to be able to 'commute' to work from Rookesbury Park, which we did during our second week. The site was well maintained, the amenity blocks are always spotless and we seemed to have a good sociable crowd around us. The wardens were, without exception, helpful, happy and diligent and special thanks should go to Chris and Lisa for being so lovely! Together with another couple this was their first year as wardens but were consummate professionals and a genuine credit to the Club. We would have no hesitation in recommending this site to couples (either working or not) and families alike as all are well catered for. There is a visiting fish & chip van on a Friday which is excellent and mid-week a stone-fired pizza van visit; also excellent. Fantastic - keep it up!

Lovely, quiet, and clean well kept site.

A tucked away site, which seems well known and came well recommend to us. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the site is very well kept and the facilities are even cleaner. Limited as to what you can do on site, as there is no community area, or gathering place, which is a shame, however, this doesn't detract from the overall site. Lovely walks with the dog in the attached 100 acre woods, and all in all if you want a little bit of R&R a great place to start. Very relaxed, and we will go back.

Peace & quiet despite being in easy travel to the motorway network

We only stayed for one night at the end of May en route to the cross channel ferry. We didn't use the ferry pitches as we made full use of our early arrival and late departure to spend some relaxing time both on the site and surrounding areas. Facilities were excellent with pitches well laid out to make the most of the natural features on the site. Toilets, showers and washing up areas were spotlessly clean with plenty of hot weather. Albeit a short stay this time we were suitably impressed with the site and surrounding area we shall be back to Rookesbury Park for a longer stay next time.

Ferry pitches are the solution to late night and early morning ferries

Stayed here last week after coming off the late ferry from Ouistreham. Did not get into the site until 10.45 but everything on the ferry pitches was set up and it was really easy. Site is massive and so it is never going to be that peaceful but absolutely spot on for the late night and early morning arrival and departures.

Poor Experience

Having stayed on this site one night we decided to book another night to spend more time around Portsmouth and there are few other sites to choose from in the area. On our way out the next morning I called into the office and reserved a specific pitch, paid for it and took away the barrier key for that pitch. Then went out for the day in good faith expecting the pitch to be available when we returned around 5. However it had been taken by someone else. Obviously I went to the office to find out what was going on and was given very short shrift by the lady who I had booked with in the morning and the male warden. Despite taking the key on the morning and paying up they said they assumed we wouldn’t be returning as no pitch marker was left. Very terse, very much “our fault” and not prepared to budge an inch. I asked for a refund as we decided we’d drive home but this was also refused as the rude male warden said we had paid for a pitch and one was available. He could certainly do with some customer care training and this site needs to shape up on it’s organisation, flexible attitude and efficiency. What sharp contrast to the fabulous site we had just stayed on at Southland on the Isle of Wight. Pleasant, friendly, nothing too much trouble. We extended our stay twice and they put a reserved pitch marker out for us immediately. If only all sites maintained the same high standards...........

Hot June 2018

Very well run caravan site, the shady walks in the forest a welcome retreat from the scorching sun. The wardens very friendly and helpful, working very hard keeping the site immaculate. Short drive into Wickham or able to walk through the forest crossing the main road before returning to a quiet countryside walk once again. The dog walk has been halved in size to give way to tent pitches but the dog walk remains large; our dogs enjoyed being sociable and running around the dog walk. Chip van visits once a week, it would be good twice a week?

A large and busy site, ideal location

We stayed for four nights and enjoyed the site and the area, especially Portsmouth Docks. The site is larger and busier that we are normally used to but we chose the site for the location. The site and facilities were clean and adequate to the Clubs usual standards
