Top site

We have just come back after spending a fantastic week, the site is well maintained and the wardens are very friendly. We had a slight medical problem during our stay and asked if it would be possible to stay on site past the 12:00 leaving time, the answer was that is not a problem which was great even though the site was full. There is plenty to see and do in the area and would certainly stay at this site again if in the area.

Great location

Small/medium site in a lovely peaceful location. Very little in the way of facitlities in the immediate area (Spa shop with garage in Powburn quite well stocked) but centrally placed for many attractions both inland and on the coast. The site facilities are kept very clean by the friendly and hard working wardens (as they have no assistants, which on a busy site like this I found hard to believe). A great location which is good for walkers, birders and dogs.

A really lovely site

This was our first stay on a club site & it was wonderful. Beautiful clean facilities, a delightful dog walk, friendly helpful staff who had a lot of very useful local knowledge. One really lovely touch was the herb garden where guests were invited to help themselves. For us this site was perfectly situated for walking in the Cheviot Hills. Although it is very quiet, it is only a short distance from the main road which meant an easy drive when towing a carvan

Pleasant quiet site

As it was our first visit to Northumberland we chose this site as it was in a central position. It was a great choice, the site is quiet very clean and all the facility`s are spotless. Overall an excellent site close to many attractions, we took the Train from Berwick upon tweed to Edinburgh for a great day out ( pre-booked tickets only £11.50 return great value ) station only a 35min drive away from site, with parking at station. Would go again,.,.

Lovely Peaceful Site

We stayed on this site for 11 nights and found it to be exceptional. It had lovely surroundings and a really good dog walking area close to the river, where we were lucky enough to see a Kingfisher and a Dipper. The Wardens were very friendly and helpful. The site was immaculately clean and well set out. The Fish & Chip van that visits the site twice weekly was superb and reasonably priced too. The Wi-Fi was a bit hit-and-miss, but we got by. Would defininitely recommend as a great base for visiting Northumberland

Lovely Site, Well Placed

We arrived at 4.50pm on Wednesday 6th July for 4 nights.   Our pitch was designated for us and was great; plenty of room it was hard standing, pitch 29 right next to water etc.  TV reception required external aerial lead but wasn't a problem.  WiFi was great.  Toilets, shower and washing facilities were great.  There is a lovely dog walk and a good sized field during the dog walk to give good exercise.   We didn't see any wardens apart from paying on day 2 but we didn't need any help so all OK.  The one thing I will mention is on immediately on arriving at 4.50pm…the first sign we saw was " All departures by 12 noon".... Personally we think this doesn't make a good first impression, as well as not being greeted but have a warden shout over from their caravan "take your booking from the plastic wallet". Little things but it makes a difference? Overall a good clean site with great facilities and a good base for seeing the sites.

A truly peaceful site.

Just home after 10 nights at this Northumbrian site. It is really very peaceful being half mile from the main road. It has its own nature reserve and adjoining lakes. The River Breamish also adjoins the site. Facilities are very clean, pitches level and Wardens very helpful. Plenty to do in the area but some travelling involved to get to coast or Alnwick. Plenty of good walks from the site plus excellent cycling country. The Breamish and Coquet valleys are beautiful and hardly any traffic. Also an ideal overnight stop to or from Scotland - only 30 miles from Berwick. Excellent chip van visits site twice per week and good Londis plus Filling Station half mile away. Overall would highly recommend.
