First visit

We stayed here for three weeks during the height of last month's heatwave. The wardens were very welcoming, a good start. We had booked a serviced pitch and had initial problems with the water supply, which we eventually sorted with the willing assistance of one of the wardens. The site is handy for exploring the east Devon coast, and local attractions. It's also close to the main road network for trips further afield. The Hare and Hounds is just up the road and has an excellent carvery and real ales straight from the barrel. Wednesday and Friday are fish and chips nights. Order at the office, and a warden collects for you. Beats standing around outside a chip van! The quality is decent as well. There's a bit of noise from agricultural traffic on the adjacent road, and the site is under the flight path for Exeter airport. We weren't bothered by this but some people might be. We weren't impressed by the Honiton Tesco, the one at Seaton is much better though further away. One niggle is the directions to the site in the club handbook. Travelling from the north, you're taken off the M5 at Taunton onto a convoluted tour of its suburbs before joining a B Road to the A303/A30 to Honiton and the A375. We discussed with another couple whose advice was to use the A30 to get to and from the M5. We took that advice for the homeward trip. It probably adds about 20 miles to the journey, but it really is much simpler. All in all an excellent holiday, and we're actively considering returning next year.

Lovely holiday

Spent just over two weeks here and we thoroughly enjoyed the campsite and area. The dog walk was lovely set in woods and was shady all day. The surrounding area was very nice and not touristic. We did not think that there was much in the area for children, so be aware. We have not given it a full rating for peace and quiet due to road and aircraft noise. Noise is subjective but we preferred to hear the owls rather than the planes. Well done to the wardens for running the site in an efficient and pleasant manner.  Wi-Fi was poor and some nights non-existent.  Signage to caravan site is set back too much and you are just about at the turning when you see the sign.

Putts Corner in the sun

Stayed for a week mid June & the weather was excellent. Very busy and we were very lucky to find a pitch that was a " sun lovers" dream, sun all day from 8am till 7.30. Many pitches are shaded but if you want sun, try to get pitch 19. Site was very tidy & clean and the showers were spotless. Info hut full of local walks, eateries and attractions. Agree with one reviewer, the welcome was efficient but not the most friendly that we have had on caravan club sites. The Hare & Hounds is a good eatery and is only a short 2 minutes through the woodland walk. Food was good and carvery good value if you are pensioner & use the club voucher at the same time. Real ale an added advantage. All in all would certainly return and try to get 19, perhaps should not have told you this!!!

Wonderfully helpful staff

The site we found very tidy, well kept and the shower and toilet facilities excellent. We had some problems with our caravan and the staff were extremely helpful with advise, using their tractor to get us off our pitch when leaving and assisting us to hitch up when the jockey wheel handle came off. A big thank you to all the staff.

Excellent Stay

The previous reviewer could not have been staying at Putts Corner. We have recently returned from this site We found the site much improved on the last time we stayed there. We were greeted by very friendly and helpful wardens who were very easy to talk to and who are an asset to the club.Hopefully the same team will be there on our next visit

Now a disappointing site

Just returned from Putts Corner which my wife and I have visited several times. We found the site untidy and unwelcoming which disappointed us because we've enjoyed our previous stays, where it was spick and span. The wardens have changed this season. They didn't present themselves to us in a friendly and welcomingly manner. Strangely, their attitude improved dramatically towards the end of our stay. Regrettably, we will not be returning to Putts Corner.

A lovely site

We loved this site set in woodland. Generous pitches and a gorgeous woodland walk which led to a pub were we could take the dog for a meal and a drink. Close to the coast and we recommend a visit to the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth.

Enjoyed a few stays at Putts corner and it is an excellent site with plenty to of places to visit in the local area. Pub in short walk of the site is excellent. Friendly staff, clean facilities and easy to get to.
