First outing since lock down!

Stayed here middle July and this was our first outing since coming out of lock down and we were both anxious and excited about being away in the caravan having already cancelled 4 weeks. Arrival was pleasant and we felt safe. The site was almost full with only 4 spaces left when we arrived, it would have been helpful to have been told which these were to save us having to drive all round the site to find a pitch. As it was we landed on our feet with a really private spot in a little corner of the site.It took some getting used to the queuing system for the toilet block and sadly some people staying on site found it difficult to stick to the rules so notices were posted threatening to close both toilet blocks if this persisted. We found that the system worked well, overall, and visiting the toilet blocks was a better experience than usual. The location was ideal for us as we were revisiting the coast path the local area. Site was quiet and well maintained.

Excellent well cared for site

We stayed at this site for a week just after it reopened in July. Amazed at the care and attention paid by the wardens - their dedication and enthusiasm showed in a brilliantly run site which was immaculate despite being full. You can get a little road noise on one side and it’s not a large site but it’s quiet and really nice.

A pleasure to stay.

We have just spent a week at Putts Corner and congratulate all staff on keeping an immaculate site as well as implementing all the new regulations. A very welcome break for us after months of lockdown and we felt everything had been done to ensure distancing and safety. Thank you.

First post lockdown break of 2020

Just returned from our first break of 2020 and Putts Corner has definitely instilled confidence (In an apprehensive worrier) about the COVID safety measures CAMC have in place. Felt very safe on site, the Wardens seems to have a berry well oiled system in place, with clear posters showing the guidelines. The wristband system with limited people using the loos/showers is simple and effective, and a great idea to have the ‘bubble’ Loo/shower blocks too. The site itself is lovely and peaceful, as well as beautifully maintained, and just a short drive from lots of local attractions/places/beaches. There’s also a pub conveniently about a 15 min walk away. A really great site, worth a visit if you’re looking for COVID safety peace of mind, and the tranquility of a pretty and peaceful site.

Relaxing, friendly, socially distanced site, perfect!

We stayed in July 2020, as soon as we were able to after lockdown; we were feeling the need for a trip out having been shielding for 4 months. This site was busy but immaculate, the wardens were so friendly and helpful- the best we’ve met. Facilities block frequently cleaned and limited to 3 people at a time (so some long waits for the loo/shower) but it felt very safe and hygienic. Nothing in the shop at the moment (due to social distancing) so come prepared, but a variety of shops are available a short drive away. This is a pretty site with wardens who keep it well and who go the extra mile. There are some good (but hilly) walks/ cycle rides from the door which kept our teenagers and dog happy. The boules court is a great feature, we enjoyed a few family games - bring your own boules set. This site is within an hour of home so we’ll be back frequently. Sidmouth beach and town are worth a visit. Jacobs Ladder beach at the far side of town (up the hill) has misleading signs, you can walk your dog on a lead across the pebble beach to the far end- which is then dog friendly and it’s then fine to let them off for a run/swim.

Fantastic wardens and site

A late review, we stayed at the end of August 2019 for what was supposed to be a two week break (2 adults and our sons aged 7&13). We had a great first week, but then my husbands back gave way and he ended up in Exeter hospital for the next 7 nights! The wardens were amazing, helping to keep my sons occupied during the wait for an ambulance, checking on my oldest son and dog whilst we followed the ambulance. Family joined us late that first evening to help, but the ladies still checked in with us, and did everything they could to help at such a stressful time. The site itself is lovely, kids play area was a hit with the 7 year old. The dog walk was good for our Lab, and the chip shop delivery was very good. The pub up the road served lovely food, great portions for hungry boys! Thank you again for all the help, would definitely tely stay here again!

What wonderful wardens!

Not once in my 11yrs of membership have I been able to praise a Warden, not once! However we stayed here for a week in August and was so shocked by how wonderful, in every way, the wardens were, we have no choice but to say so! Four wonderful ladies! They were friendly, helpful and cheerful on arrival, helped us fix our be! which had broken and wardrobe that had locked shut with all our clothes in! What a relief I can tell you, any other site would have left us to it! No bed and no clothes! They all worked like horses cleaning and keeping the site lovely, they stopped and chatted on their rounds and kept a fully stocked shop and even provided a fish and chip delivery service! Provided a news paper service each day too! We could not have asked for more! We will most certainly be going back next year thanks to these super ladies. Please say thanks to them :0)

Welcoming

My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks at the beginning of this month. We chose this site as we have relatives in the area, however the site exceeded our expectations. It is a beautifully kept site, very clean everywhere. It’s very quiet, the only noise being from planes landing at Exeter Airport. The pub up the road is so very busy and we understand that the food is very good, however we didn’t get chance to sample it, but on booking in were given a voucher for money off. It is only a couple of miles to a variety of supermarkets in Honiton, but there are plenty of opportunities to purchase food items wherever you travel to. Sidmouth is the nearest coastal town, and is delightful, and parking in the area is relatively inexpensive. All in all a fantastic base for a break - be it long or short.

Beautiful site

My wife and I stayed for a week on this lovely site in August and we found the staff extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with. The site itself is kept in very good order, well maintained and the facilities were immaculate. The setting is beautiful and it was perfectly located for us visiting relatives in Honiton. I recommend this site highly. Thank you to all the staff of Putts Corner for making our stay very pleasant and relaxing.
