Never disappointed

We have stayed at Putts Corner three/four times this year and have never been disappointed. Loads of peace and quiet, great facilities and the staff work incredibly hard to maintain the highest standards. It's a lovely site, conveniently and cleverly siuated with access to a heap of wildlife. Thank you all very much.

Putts Perfect!

A really enjoyable week at Putts Corner in June 2021 - Covid-19 restrictions adhered to on site and whilst this reduced the availability of things to do nearby, this meant we spent more time on this extremely peaceful site. All the site team were friendly and welcoming to my wife and I and our dog - we'd all definitely recommend!

Well kept site

This is a very well kept site. The greeting by the warden on arrival was very friendly and informative And although he was very busy with arrivals I didnt feel rushed at all. The site is well laid out and having the pub nearby is so handy for meals out. The toilets were clean and well maintained and the feeling was of quiet efficiency behind the scenes. As soon as pitches vacated the tractor and mower were there cutting the grass ready for the incoming arrivals. Evenings and early mornings are so quiet with only birdsong interrupting your thoughts. Perfect site for a quiet getaway. As for no wfi-thats a bonus as far as I'm concerned.

Tight service pitches

The wardens were very friendly and welcoming, however we had a service pitch booked, I have a reasonably large outfit, I found the access roads to be narrow and the service pitches were a lot smaller than usual, in fact some of them would not have been large enough to accommodate my caravan. However non serviced pitches seemed to be of normal size. The site is peaceful and quiet, although aircraft noise is noticeable as it is on the flight path for Exeter airport.

First visit to Putts Corner

We had a lovely five night stay at the Putts Corner Site. We arrived in glorious sunshine and received a really warm welcome by the warden. Checking in was straightforward and there were several nice pitches to choose from. The pitch was large, well-kept and had hedges on two sides which afforded some privacy. The site is very well maintained and the facilities very clean. We never had to queue. The wardens obviously take a lot of pride in their work. The information room was open which was helpful. There was a small amount of road noise but this was not a concern for us. The only issue we found is that there was no wifi. As motorhomers we used the bus service, the bus stop being very close by on the main road. It is a short walk from the site through a wooded footpath. We used to it travel into Sidmouth a couple of times and also a connection from there to travel on to Budleigh Salterton for the day. Sidmouth is a lovely town. We particularly enjoyed watching a local cricket match on a pitch that must have one of the best locations in the county overlooking the sea. We did walk from the site to Gittisham and Ottery St Mary - very easy on the way there but quite a lot of uphill walking on the way back. We also enjoyed a meal at The Pig in Combe which was lovely. We can't really comment on whether the site is good for families. It was half term during our stay and there were a few children on site enjoying themselves and they were very well behaved.

It suited us!

If it hadn't been for the heavy rain during most of our two-night stay, it would have been really pleasant to sit out on this site. Unlike some CMC sites which are a bit carpark-like because of the hard standings, this one has them, but remains nicely green (helped by that rain, no doubt). The pub nearby is a definite asset, as it does a good carvery and seems to have plenty of parking front and rear. Site staff were very agreeable and friendly, and although very late booking, we were still able to select our own pitch from the several still available. Can't really comment upon facilities as we're still using our own, but the park itself was very neat and tidy.

Return visit post lockdown2

Our second visit to Putts Corner, Very helpful wardens were working extra hard due to new COVID rules. Felt safe due to systems in place most people were following rules. Site not too large surrounded by trees fairly flat pitches. We had no issue with road noise. Unit Campervan.

Rookie review

We stayed here on a first trip in our camper van. The wardens on site could not of been more friendly and helpful as we were complete new comers to camper vanning. They lent us a pitch in use sign as we didn't have one. The toilets and showers very covid compliant with a simple system to ensure they were not over crowded. The facillities were spotlessly clean at all times as were the waste disposal areas. Some road noise and a low flying aircraft at 2.30 one morning but nothing to stop us returning some day.

Putts Corner Virgins No More

Well our first time at Putts Corner and on arrival we were warmly welcomed by the Wardens. Plenty of choice for pitches being the opening day after lockdown but we settled for pitch 66 ( nearest the pub 😊 ) on hindsight I think we should’ve looked around a little more because the road noise was a little off putting but didn’t spoil our stay. Site and facilities were very clean and gradually filled up over the course of the day. Great location for sight seeing the area with Sidmouth just 6-7 miles down the road. Pub just a 5 minute walk from the site which served excellent food and beers. Looked forward to returning in the future when lockdown is hopefully long gone and behind us.

Another Great Club Site

This was our first visit to Putts Corner Club site and so pleased with the great site and location. We were initially concerned that we had turned up the wrong road after leaving Honiton, as it did seem longer than the suggested 2.5 miles before coming to the Hare & Hounds. (Should have used our Milometer!). The Entrance and reception area is very clearly marked and the check-in very straightforward. The Warden explained everything very clearly. They kindly included a couple of hints about finding our choice of pitch, without having to drive all the way round and then back through the entrance area again. There were a number of pitches that we especially liked and pitched-up in an excellent location. Having read previous reviews we had already booked Dinner at The Hare & Hounds and the Warden had kindly explained about the pathway through the woods that comes out immediately opposite the pub. We we had an excellent meal that evening, especially that they had all the Corvid safeguards set up and therefore we ate there each evening. All Facilities at the Club Site were spotless and that obviously helped us feel especially safe regarding the Corvid situation. Like many other reviewers we visited all the very nice local coastal resorts and are sure to return many times.
